I think we deserve to have a dedicated section on Nairaland for Pregnancy and Child Care, I can imagine the loads of information we will be able to share and the easy of navigating that information with such structure.

Do we need to jointly sign a petition for Oga Seun to answer this request? Abi what do you think mamas? At least there is a dedicated section for pets so why not for our noble child rearing journey.

Doctors in the house, most especially the gynaecologists, I really need your guidance on this matter. I have a sister that has been battling with something in these past few days.

It happened like this; three weeks ago, she told me she was feeling somehow and doesn't understand how her body is feeling. She finished her menstruation a week before and she started seeing blood coming out of her private part like she's menstruating again after 4days of finishing the menstruation and it lasted for about five days. We checked online for what could be responsible and all we could see are symptoms of pregnancy. In order to be sure, she did pregnancy test and the result came out negative, so she buried the thought since the blood had stopped coming.

Now another issue; She was supposed to have seen her menses around 22nd of September, but has not come up till this moment, this had caused another serious of worries for her. To crown the whole matter, she said her breast is getting fuller. She did another pregnancy test with PT strips, the result still came out negative, both urine and blood.

Now she's really scared of what could be going on. She's thinking of going to see the gynaecologist next week, but for now I won't let her hurt herself so much with so many thoughts because of this matter.

Please what could be wrong? Could it be pregnancy or what medical explanation can be given to this......

Bennyandrews, in the case of normal VD with no tear, I personally don't think you need any nurse to bathe your baby. If you're scared of pouring water in his/her eyes and nose, no wash the face just wipe. But, in another event maybe CS, if you're close to the nurse, you may invite her. All the same, determine to get by on your own....cheers.

jumy16, our first portee (side eye to Joomie and zaynie) have you tried Hot Amala, hot pap with plenty peak milk, hot tea with lots of milk? These worked well for me, but some people swear by lactation cookies. A mama here sells them...also keep putting baby to the breast so that he can stimulate the production...e go soon overflow, no worry!

Have you tried to naturally induce labor via walks, pineapples, ṣe x, nípple stimulation etc?
Put your mind at rest and remember that all dates are +/-2 weeks.


As long as your blood level is fine then you can stick to just folic acid but you can also try to add desolate and bcomplex and vitamin c. You can buy the counting for instead of the bulky sachet

It's a good idea but imagine the info we will have to leave behind.
It's one of the reasons this thread has been left to be this long, most threads are stopped at 500 pages or so and a sister thread created.
I feel the health section has all 3 stages of child bearing.
