This pregnancy showed me the real meaning of morning sickness,this one nah every time sickness. my first trimester was so bad that I was contemplating of resigning from work ,but thanks to my mother that encouraged me and told me it is a phase that will pass one day.
After the first trimester things started to change ,I started eating food and enjoying it,the metallic taste started fading away, and the pregnancy glow showed in this pregnancy ( my face was clear and glowing all the time)
Fast forward to 38wk I went for scan and they told me that am 36wk and I have to give birth September ending, I said to myself that it cannot work . From that moment I started exercising more and bding more
on the morning of my edd I woke up to see that I have lost my mucous plug,I didn't tell my husband because he will carry me go hospital if I tell him,I still went about my normal duty and went to work.at around 10pm the contractions were getting stronger and closer I had to lie down and not exercise too much so as to not quicken the labour, the contraction became unbearable at 5am I had to take my bath with the help of my hubby who also received his own share of the pain and went to hospital calling d doctor immediately I step into the hospital. The Dr came down and check and say 6cm in my mind I was like with this kind of pain? I was taken to the labour room but the contraction was too close that I told the Dr to check again and the Dr shouted "it is 9cm oooo!!!!" everybody started arranging things.The Dr was busy telling me not to push so that I will not have tear and I was telling the Dr that it is giving me push ooo,he said I should not I held him tight on the arm and my nails dug into his flesh he shouted and ask me to position well so he he will check again ,he checked, burst my membrane and told me to push. On the third push my baby's head came out and there was cord round the neck which was cut and at around 7:45am my Prince Charming was delivered with a loud cry and no tear was sustained.

It's one of the reasons this thread has been left to be this long, most threads are stopped at 500 pages or so and a sister thread created.
I feel the health section has all 3 stages of child bearing.

We could have a whole section but the threads will just be repetition of questions and observations.

I agree but it is just difficult to navigate the information here. For example, I can imagine the number of times we have discussed how to get breast milk flowing, baby shopping list etc. but due to the length of the thread it is quite difficult to look for info especially if you are a newbie. However, if there is a thread on these topics in the baby section, even google will present it when you search online.

Lemme quickly use this golden opportunity to type and submit my B.S as mosquitoes won't let us rest in the ward. My room partner and I have turned to hunters.


So in my BFP announcement, i stated back then in January that i got Peggy cos uncle begged one for kpekus before proceeding on a week long white fasting. We didn't bother to check my app for safety.

The journey began. MS, spitting. I was blessed with a bump that didn't really show much but the downside was dat People were always asking if i had delivered.

First scan revealed edd as 26th September but calculation according to LMP said October 1st so i stuck to that.

In my seventh month, my mum had to travel leaving me with my small madam. She dealt with me in a mighty way.

The second scan revealed the sex of the baby in cephalic position with oblique lie. I was worried but my consultant allayed my fears.

On the evening of Wednesday 26th September, i felt my first contraction but i waved it off. I had it a few times again but then all i kept wondering was could I possibly contact for 5 days cos i was still expecting an in independence day baby.

Thursday morning, hubby, small madam and i were in church for special prayers. The contractions kept coming. Got home, bought tomato soup Ingredients and meat for the freezer. Also made ewedu. I put diapers ​into as that was the only item remaining.

Toward evening, the contractions started taking longer than usual so i told hubby to jot down the time for me so i can note the intervals. Some batches were regular then in a whole hour, it didn't come.

It was during this period that i was making dinner, billing meat, and my soup. We ate dinner around 8 pm.

Electricity was restored so i used my relief period to
Check on the laundry i was doing in the machine.

Around 10pm, the lights went off. So i had to retire to bed with hopes of continuing the next day. Immediately we got the bed, mama slept off and i was grateful for my alone time to myself.

I continue the time jotting. The contractions were getting longer and at 11:26pm, ît got more unbearable and were now 10mins apart. 11:36, 11:46,

11:56pm, i woke DH up. We were finally able to get taxify to get us to the hospital around to 1am. The driver steed acting funny few minutes into the drive claiming his insides were churning as that was the first time he was witnessing someone in labour. Na we still dey Beg bros to calm him down so he could get us to the hospital safe. We couldn't tell if he was drunk or just been a freak. At a point he parked and was forming fainting. Twas me that was that was sha trying to calm him down o.
His speeding nko, story for another day.
So i had been praying that the strike should not affect my hospital cos even paid in advance. We got there and we met all hands on deck. God bless them all. They were less concerned about the strike as it was business as usual.
I was admitted into the labour ward. Nurse checked me and said 8cm. I was so glad and to think i wanted to stay back till morning. Naso my husband for turn to midwife ooo for house.
At a point, the labour stalled so i was loaded with drugs till i delivered around 3: twenty something on Friday morning 28th September 2018 weighing 3.0kg wth vagina tears.

Have you tried to naturally induce labor via walks, pineapples, ṣe x, nípple stimulation etc?
Put your mind at rest and remember that all dates are +/-2 weeks.


As long as your blood level is fine then you can stick to just folic acid but you can also try to add desolate and bcomplex and vitamin c. You can buy the counting for instead of the bulky sachet

I'll get some pineapples today. Any specific way of preparing it or just cut and eat?

The pineapples should be Queens. Not the sweet and slim cotonou pineapples. The Queens are usually fat and round. Your target is the hard shaft at the center (core) as it contains more bromelain which triggers uterine contractions.

Thank you Zaynie and Tatacherie... There was something I took note of on two occasions though(The last time and this morning). During the day if I don't fart, by evening of that day, the aches starts until morning when I fart, then I feel relieved and the pain gone. Could it be as a result of the gas?? Has anyone else ever experienced something like that?
