So I called Orelope transport yesterday and they said it will cost me 20k, excluding yellow fever and other road expenses.

Senior men in the house, I'm still awaiting your input.

It's seems it as become imperative of me to talk since you mentioned orelope transport even though I didn't want to chuk mouth earlier when you were asking if there is other alternative transport aside ejigbo. Well your best bet would have been to just enter cotonu and take UTB to abidjan direct.but since you still consider orelope transport I can give you the first hand info.orelope leaves on Sundays to and fro from abidjan and Wednesday. Sundays bus fee is 20k naira or 30kcfa depending on the currency you which to pay with. The duration of Sunday buses is 3days that means they arrive on Tuesday and they usually carry goods along while that of Wednesday which is 27k naira or 40kcfa usually don't carry goods along and they arrive the following day which is Thursday.Sunday buses are not ac fitted while that of Wednesday is ac fitted.

If your passport is virgin then you need to hold atleast 20kcfa that is about 12k naita with you cus u get to use like 10kcfa to stamp your passport alone at noé abidjan border.orelope transport is in ejigbo osun state to avoid the stress of travelling down to ejigbo I gave out their number earlier on this thread .am not responsible for any other orelope transport number you call if is not from my moniker.you might be lucky I will be the one to pick your call if you call from Thursday downward.

Someone finally answered me. Thank you sir cool

I have actually settled with Orelope. I'm coming from Lagos and it will be on a Tuesday. My problem here is shelter.

1. Where I'm going to sleep in Ejigbo on Tuesday night
2. Where I'm going to sleep in Abidjan when I get there (hotel or host)
3. How I'm going to get an apartment.

I'm travelling with about 200,000 CFA and I don't know any soul in Abidjan.

Please can you respond to my question?

Please where is the Orelope transport in Lagos?
Should a passenger come to Osun State or Lagos... And what time does the vehicle move? Please can you share the number of the transport company so others can call?
Re: Any Nairalander In Abidjan? by Toeyoursea(m): 2:23pm On Sep 22, 2018
You'd have to call them to confirm all these. Their number is 08077586461. They are situated in Ejigbo Osun state. popizaino can shed more light.

I will be making a bold decision which is finally relocating to Abidjan after much thought (don't mind me actually I think I've had enough with 9ja). I've been following discussions on here very keenly.

With much information at my disposal(thanks to those guyz aforementioned) I believe I might not have much challenge save d language ish which I'm very much working on.

Lucky for me have got peepz who have been resident in Abidjan for some time now (around Trechville to be precise)

I just might be sharing my own first hand experiences in a couple of weeks from now.

#merci!

I want some information from you.

1. What time did you arrive Abidjan?

2. Did you pay any other money at any border apart from the transportation?

3. When you eat along the road, do you pay in Naira or the host currency?

I'm expecting your reply...

1. We took off around 10:00 am on Tuesday and arrived Abidjan around 6:00pm the following day

2. Yes. Especially if u crossing for d first time. Charges include Yellow fever vaccination card @N3000 (U can also get it in Nigeria @N1000). I'll advice U get it on ur way cos they might refuse to accept d one done in 9ja. U also pay small money at d border (CIV). Carry like N1000 for for loading dee at d park.

Generally YSG settles most of d immigration charges. I'll advice U hold extra 5k.

3. U can buy food with Naira. But It is advisable U change Ur money at d border first to avoid being extorted. N1000= 1600CFA

A big shoutout to all those who have contributed immensely to the growth of this thread. I have read through almost the whole 32 pages. I haven't seen anyone mislead or scam another person on this thread, it all been brotherhood and love. Even 2 page thread for Nairaland, them go still scam you.

I was looking to relocate to Osun state when I stumbled upon this thread. I have changed my mind; I think Abidjan will be ideal for me.

I have a few questions, some of which may have been directly or indirectly asked before. I just want to get current and specific answers on them.

1. Transportation

I was at Young Shall Grow ECOWAS park, Maza-Maza on Friday 15-09-2018 and below were the prices:
-N30,500 with passport
-N35,500 with virgin Passport
-N37,000 with ID card (voter's or national ID)
-N45,000 without ID
I was advised to have an extra N5,000 for Yellow card and other cross border stuffs.

My question is, are there any better alternatives (apart from Ejigbo)?

2. Cash Handling

Where will I change cash from naira to XOF?
How much is safe for me to carry in cash?
Can I use my ATM card in any bank along the border?

3. Housing and hotel

How much should I budget for a low cost hotel?
I intend to rent a furnished one-room apartment. How much should I budget?
Is it possible to get someone to host me (Flat share) or squatting pending the time I get a bigger apartment?

4. Jobs

I have a Freelance business that pays me about $100 (N30,000) weekly. I hope this income will be good enough to survive?

My entire travel budget is N150,000 and N50,000 is for transport. This leaves me with N100,000 naira to settle down. With this 100k and my weekly 30k, is it advisable to embark on this adventure?

Please advise me.

Only question one was answered though the other questions seemed to have their answers in the thread but it will be better if someone still answers the rest directly.
