I was still observing from the sidelines until that useless press conference he granted. The guy is politically dead in Lagos unless Buhari resuscitates his political career by appointing him a Minister during his second term.

Interesting times ahead.

The events of the past days have revealed that Ambode is just a mere stooge and lame duck with no single structure of his own.

He can't even touch a stand of hair on the Deputy's head because the Assembly men aren't on his side. It is even more glaring that most of the commisioners were dumped on him hence their loyalty lie somewhere else.

If he wants to fight dirty, the highest he can do now is to reshuffle the cabinet and ease out the 'treacherous' appointees but I sincerely doubt he has that gut.

The question should be, "Will Ambode resume office tomorrow?" because this seeming eruptive failure might not give him enough fortitude to show up in the office till tenure elapses. He might decide to to be ruling from Epe using Skype or Zoom for the remaining official days.

For a political commentator, you are mischieveously ignoring political hierachy and protocol.
An appointee, no matter how high, is lower in hierachy than an elected politician.
That professor Julius once contested for Governorship or Senate does not count.
What counts is what position he was elected into before? Nothing.
Afterall, Rochas once contested for president.
Ihonvbere's predecessor as SSG; Pally Iriase nko?
Is he not a serving House of Reps member?
Till today, the honour of the greatest political demotion in Nigeria's political history is held by Senator Tokunbo Afikuyomi. Who went from being a twice elected Senator, to being an appointed commissioner of Tourism.
