I live in Volgograd city of Russia, but I use to buy and sale cars and electronics online. This time I bought 2 cars online: one in Florida and the second is in California. My friend who use to help me ship it from USA to Nigeria told me the is no ship to Nigeria from Florida. I want to ask Nairaland members, does anyone know anybody who can help direct me on how to ship the cars from Florida and California to Nigeria without transporting the cars to New Jersey for shipment? Does anyone know any shipping company that can ship the cars for me while I am in Russia? Please I need help. I need a reliable direction, You can call me on +79195457026 or write to me benodihe@yahoo.com

The Nissan Rogue is sharing same engine with Sentra and Altima. The 4 cylinder engine is very economical (however not as economical as a sentra cos its a jeep. More weight).

Nevertheless its highly durable and you will enjoy it. Go for it.

Happy Motoring.

I have been quite surprised with the Tribute. And in a good way. Few months back i was searching for someone and i was shocked to see that most of them makes it to very high mileage without faults or anything else.

However, as with any other used car, make sure that the one you are getting is a well maintained car.

Good luck out there.

The issue about 4 or 6 cylinders is that 6 are more expensive when it comes to repairs parts, but in terms of fuel consumption, it depends on the engine capacities.
Some 4 are 2.2 and some 6 are 2.2 so in this case the consumption will be the same, they are both 2.2.
It all depends on the equation Pie/4 x bore x length of stroke x number of cylinders.

So, some 4 cylinders engines might have a wider bore and longer stroke length.

So my people, about fuel consumption, it is not really true that 6 consumes more than 4 in all cases. It depends on engine size in litres.

But, for spare parts six are more expensive, but more durable.

How can you tell a stolen car in Nigeria?

How do you know a registered car has not been stolen from another state?

2) Do german cars like Audis, VW break down easily in Nigeria? I know the parts are a bit expensive

Hi buddies, you all have shared great info on car buying and all but Vehicle tracking is most important components among of them.

Vehicle tracking is one of the primary components of fleet management. As modern technology advances, helpful tools such as the GPS tracking devices has made diagnostics and tracking simpler and far more effective, allowing for better management. Tracking lets the manager know where the exact locations of fleet vehicles are at any given time. As a result, the manager can make informed decisions and plan the most efficient route to lessen the waiting time for customers and enhance the fuel effectiveness of each vehicle.

Hope this will help you!

This is a very broad question and some cars might have specific needs others will not have however the general rule of the game will all depend on your budget and I will recommend buying a car in good or excellent condition even if its from a common brand name like toyota or mazda than buying a BMW or Lexus at the same price but comes with a lot of issues.  ovetime these luxurious cars tends to attract more fees and that includes during clearing at the port of entry as well as parts replacement down the road. The Mileage in a car is a good indication for the life line of the car and this can be tempered with in nigeria. I have heard of bad news of mileage mis-use in nigeria. So shine your eyes well well.

If buying from abroad and have some extra padding, I will recommend that you pay for a full body check or diagnostics of your car before any commitment as this will help you clear way for lots of headache down the road.

Make sure you find the current worth of the vehicle from sources like http://www.kbb.com/ and anything else untop of that is the overhead you have to pay whether purchased in the country or outside the country. Its better to work with people you can trust of refeered to by someone else as they tend to build better reputation up from there.

If you are intrested in saving cost from buying USA cars, please send email with details of the car to the address below or call the number,

info@largerinc.com or call our business line at 650-877-2438

Thanks for your business

@Eleeesi, don't ever make the mistake of buying any Mazda product as they can easily develop gear and engine problem. I once bought one but sold it after a month of using it. I would rather advise you to go for a Toyota Highlander or RAV4, these cars can survive any road or environment in Naija. ALL THE BEST.

My advise to everyone is that, irrespective of the kind of car you want to buy, as long as you will be using it on Nigerian roads please get a genuine auto insurance for that car, at least you will have peace of mind, as there are lots of risks driving/using a car in Nigeria.

Its now criminal to drive a car in Nigeria now without a genuine auto insurance policy at least a third party auto insurance is enough.

Before you import those righty drives, I think it is very important you make some basic enquiry concerning the conversion of the car when it arrives Naija unless you want to sell it as right drive. But if you planning to convert it to left drive, this below information might be of help.
1.   Make enquiry about the availability of the car dashboard in the Nigerian market, if the dashboard cannot be sourced locally and you are not willing to import from abroad, save yourself the stress of importing such car. DO NOT CUT YOUR RIGHTY DASHBOARD AND FIX IT BACK TO LEFT DRIVE, IT IS RISKY. Recently a customer brought two Nissan laurel 2000 and 2002 model for drive conversion and I searched for the dashboard for one good week without getting them, presently those two cars are now abandoned pending when their dashboards are available.
2.Do not allow the person converting the car to use the old righty dashboard and steering in converting to left drive. This has severe implication on the alignment of the wheels and balance of the car after conversion
3.   make sure that the persons converting the car knows about auto rewiring very well, this together with panel beating work are the two most technical aspect of drive conversion. Most operations of modern day cars are electronic based and during drive conversion, all the wiring connections in a car are disengaged. It takes an auto technician who is well grounded in art to accurately fix those wires together without the car having code problem in some cases. Check inserted pictures to understand what I mean.
4.   Finally, try and get the cost and duration it will take to convert your car especially for those who are always in haste to carry the car. The cost of converting a car can range from 150k to 600k. Example 97-99 Peugeot 406 can go for 240k while 2000 model can go for 200k, a Toyota picnic manual drive can go for 230k while the auto drive goes for 250k, there are reasons for this price  variation of the same car
A Toyota harrier can go for 340 to 360k while Toyota Hiace Bus (hummer bus)  go as high as 450k etc. The price of the dashboard has a lot to do with the conversion cost though not in exclusion with other parts like AC evaporator, steering rack, gear selector and door mat cover where needed.

Make sure the conversion is handled neatly and professionally. Contrary to some people belief, there is no much difference in terms of car performance between a normal drive (left) and one converted from right to left. If you go down the chasis of some cars, you notice that even when the car
may be a right drive, a provision has been made to use it as left drive also, it all depends on how the conversion was done.
If we can get the dashboard, we in Naija, can convert the car in such that it will be difficult to find out that it was formally a right drive. Trust me
