mbaboy:In the first place this post has nothing to do with the topic on minimum wage, but if I may react, to your last sentence, I say yes great leaders don't blame them. They arrest them and quarantine them so they won't spread the virus. That is exactly why the good people of Nigeria say never again are we going to allow thieves shape our future. Never again!! |

I have my day completed with this beautiful message. Very apt and encompassing. This summerises the essence of the world itself. It is insightful on its own to liberate many Nigerians in the bondage of ignorance. I hardly comment on this platform, but had to just commend this writer. Great job sir/ma.... mbaboy: |

24k may sound ridiculous but it is the closest to what is realistic. the wage bill of the FGN is already high even at the current minimum wage and the below $100 oil price but I dnt think the federal government can do more than 30k (an amount they probably and intentionally refused to accept from the labour union.) The key to get more money is to reduce cost of governance but that is a tough issue that involves cutting funding of the national assembly, reducing the number of MDAs, and growing the economy through public private partnership, privatization and true federalism. Something no government has been bold enough to confront. The idea that reducing fuel price will suddenly boost the economy by reducing cost of living is too much of a dream. It will only scratch the surface. As for NLC, they had the opportunity to force a true change during Jonathan's government but they betrayed the civil societies and hardly are they taken serious anymore. Most of these so called comrades are future politicians who become as terrible as Oshiomole. Let's not even discuss the state. The present constitution renders them lazy and makes it easy for them to blame everything on poor national revenue. Even if they reduce the minimum wage to 10k, so many states won't pay because like their sugar daddy in Abuja (FGN), they are never interested in reducing cost of governance and state governors love raising their security votes. |

It amazed me when some people who are naive continue to say we dont need increase on wages but instead cutting of prices of goods. Even during a good government in Nigeria, cost of goods and services continue to rise, now that we are under a clueness, insensitive, deaf and dumb and most corrupt government they expected a price of goods and services to come down to me such people agitating for cutting of price of goods and services are naive and even blind because such thing cannot happened under this government. An insensitive government proposing just ordinary 24k as minimum when the prices of even ordinary fuel and electricity jump up to 200% not to talk of rate of naira to dollars and now proposing just ordinary 25% increase on wages, to me this type of government are not fit to rule Nigeria in anyway. I do laugh when most people do compare the integrity of Buhari with other politicians, my question is that "is Buhari integrity improve nigeria economy or put food on nigerian tables" dont let us deceive ourself we dont have government in Nigeria but those useless old selfish politician gambling with nigerians destiny. There is nothing in good in stock under this government for nigerians. Under this proposed 25% increase, all the market womens and men will expect to get their own share out of the said 25% if i may ask is this a minimum wage increase or adjustment of salary. Please we dont have government for now those people in charge are just shaku-shaku people we need to send them back to their village in 2019. |

Let them go for the average :-
(30,000+25,000+24,000+20,000) =
99,000/4 = 24,750.
Minimum wage be N24,750. for now, while we ask for addition later. |

OsuGanja:Graduates? Do you even know what minimum wage stands for? Most civil servants receiving the minimum wage are primary and secondary School holders. No civil servant that is a graduate earns such amount! Take this to the bank. |
