when they protested against the increase in pump price, Nigerians sabotaged their effort because people were following APC propaganda, since Nigerians accepted the removal of subsidy, NLC can only ask for salary increment.

There is still subsidy in petrol mind you. Heavy one at that!

NLC is fcked, they don't even work for the money they want. Instead of asking for reduced fuel price which will bring down the cost of everything, they foolishly ask for salary increment which will lead to inflation and price increases

I don't get! How exactly is the government supposed to reduce petrol price By increasing the already huge amount we pay on subsidy??

The crux of the problem is our country's structure. It is inherently defective.

Yes, I know its not an attractive proposition, but many states (in fact some say as much as half of them) have no reason existing as autonomous entities.. They are simply conduit pipes for oil wealth to fill up the bank accounts of politicians and top civil servants (aides, 'special' personal adviser, etc)

That's why I see all these rancor for increase as silly as it is futile. Those cursing the SGs for claiming 20k, should ask themselves: is it those states struggling to pay N18k that are now expected to pay 20k?

I'm sure those that agreed to the 20 did so out fear of being blackmailed by NLC; its election season after all. But i struggle to see how tey will be able to meet the monthly wage bills.

*sigh*

I am so sad that in 2018, BUHARI and his fellow clueless partner in crime, ATIKU ABUBAKAR are the main options on the ballot for the next 4 years, when we have intelligent, and tested technocrats, reputable entrepreneurs and corporate leaders making waves worldwide for positive impact on the global community, I mean men managers, crisis managers, real people who know how to create jobs and wealth... but the likes of Mafia Boss and slowpoke extra-ordinaire Bola Tinubu will kill them before they even buy forms to state their intentions to run for office. If they cannt be liquidated by the "nest of killers" parading as political party stalwarts, then the "tribalism" test will put a full stop to getting the best hands to manage the country. The yorubas will antagonize a competent Ibo calling him developer and Igbo, i wont vote for you, the Igbo will downsize and ridicule the capable yoruba man and rubbish him calling him Afonja, we will never vote for you.. the problem of Nigeria is deep rooted in a curse placed on this Nation by colonial adventurism. we are not ONE PEOPLE, a house divided cannot stand... THIS IS WHY THE BEST AND BRIGHTEST are fleeing in droves and this is why an unrepentant reprobate like Buhari and a morbid kleptomaniac like Atiku are OUR ONLY VIABLE OPTION in 2018.. Thank God I am an American citizen, NIGERIA IS DEAD, FUNERAL ARRANGEMENT to be announced later!

I need that citizenship bro cry

Dindinrin , do you even have money to fund that 25% increase without borrowing ??

In case your brain skipped working when you wrote this , be rest assured that in order to save and meetup with demands for funds in the economy

There will be some adjustments, starting from subsidy Buhari will probably stop paying subsidies , landing cost of petrol without subsidy is about 215 Naira , meaning you will buy petrol at 215 / liter or even 250 adding profit / overhead

Cost of transport will increase,

cost of feeding / food materials will increase

Everything will rise exponentially , and same set of people will be complaining Buhari has brought hardship , let's kukuma ask for 400% increase na ? we die here together

The evil government is proposing just a 25% increase, when price of commodities and standard cost of living have almost tripled. No Government in the world, comes close to insensitive as this government. The dullard is simple evil.

Shut the Bleep up young man.. The stupid PDP that you are clamoring for now was in power for 16 unholy years with a lot of calamitous stuffs to write about. My problem with some of us is that our insensitivity has really beclouded our senses of reasoning.. What a country with an uncultured sycophantic wailer like you.

Sensible comment. Many of those commenting here has little or no knowledge of how an economy work. The proposed amount is reasonably okay and meanwhile, there are millions of unemployed Nigerians who will suffer more as a result of the increase in the minimum wage. Do these block headed commentators think about them. Bunch of unlearned fellows who think education ends with the ability to read and speak/write in English
