Congratulations....
einsteino:
Here is my story so far, decided to make it detailed in case there is a thing or two someone else may benefit from.

DECISION TO TRAVEL: In the words of Jill Scott, "Do not stop dreaming just because you had a nightmare'.
I started the pursuit of escape velocity in 2014, looked at Aussie Study visa, tried Aussie PR, and even applied for a Canadian TRV, the refusal would later sentence me to purgatory [LVO]

IELTS: first wrote Academic for Canada study visa in 2014, GT for Aussie PR in 2016, GT for Canada PR in 2017.
ECA: Oct 11 2017
ITA: Oct 18 2017 (cutoff:438, my CRS:441)
AOR: Nov 23 2017
MEP: Dec 7 2017
NA2: Dec 11 2017
Received GCMS: Jan 29 2018
File Transferred to LVO: Jan 10 2018
IP2: Feb 27 2018 (Mass IP2 crew)
ADR (Employment & POF): April 11 2018
Submitted ADR: April 19 2018
Received GCMS: April 23 2018
Received GCMS: June 22 2018. from this I noticed CIO Recommended Interview! contacted DJM and i was replied with "...there maybe need to interview you."
GU: July 11 2018.. with this I inferred there has been a new activity on my file, I mailed an MP pleading he gets in touch with IRCC and lets me in on the update. Replied

with this I heaved a sigh of relief.

ADR(Eye & Height and Passport Travel Doc):

Received GCMS: July 26 2018 ... Actually the MP's mail had more recent info than the gcms, I noticed LVO reviewed my ADR after CIO recommended Interview, was convinced andd passed my eligibility. Another thing I learnt from this my 4th GCMS was the fact that there is a 3week lag in gcms delivery. I reviewed all 4 GCMS I had received so far, and the activities that meaning it only shows you the info contained in your file as at when you applied for your GCMS not when it was sent to you.

Same day, few hours later...ADR(Passport Travel Doc) & PPR (I think they came together)

Submitted Passport: July 27 2018
Application Approved: August 8 2018
PUM: August 13 2018
VOH: August 14 2018

Landed: Yesterday (13 October 2018)

what is interesting is how we start this journey with eyes on only one thing, PR! little is said of the great bonus it brings, and it isn't the utopia of life in Canada, rather it is the many beautiful souls it has brought into my life; people I have come to know in this pursuit. I am eternally grateful to Bimpsy99, sweetri, feygbe, nekdre, kayla10, 40manlappy, ugoiyke, kontagious, newmum0615, glitteringstar, inshort everyone here. It hasn't been a smooth journey, I certainly wouldn't have been able to see this arduous task through without you guys, the checkups, the counsel and the support. I am thankful for the uncertainties that made this worth celebrating.

Congrats, I tap into your testimony in Jesus Christ name.
mepconsultant:
LONG POST ALERT.

I promised to get back wt my story and here I am.
My Canada journey started August, 2016.
I used WES for my ECA and it was smooth.

IELTS JOURNEY:
I sat for IELTS 5 times as below
1st attempt BC, 04/03/2017: L7.5 R6.5 W7.0 S7.5
2nd attempt BC, 08/04/2017: L7.5 R7.5 W6.5 S7.0
3rd attempt BC, 11/11/2017: L7.5 R9.0 W7.5 S6.5
4th attempt MOD, 03/03/2018: L8.5 R9.0 W6.5 S7.0
5th attempt MOD, 12/05/2018: L8.5 R8.5 W7.0 S7.5

I tackled the first one with maximum confidence but I lost the confidence after the 2nd attempt couldn’t yield 8777. At that point, I ran to nairaland to seek for assistance. After BC spoilt my result the 3rd time (Speaking =6.5), I resorted to MOD. I tried my best the 4th time which yielded almost a useful result except for writing. I paid 46k + for remark but it came back same way. Unfortunately, I hardly had time to prepare for more than 3 weeks cos of the natural of my work. At this point I was already getting discouraged and asking if I’m destined for Canada or not.
I wrote the almighty and popular 12/05/2018 MOD IELTS exam which wasn’t well organized. After all the efforts, I lost courage and at that point I felt I should look for a lady that needs a guy so that we could … so I got a lady’s nos after d exam. When d result came out, I cried cos it was the truly the worst of all I wrote but God turned it to be the most useful of all. At that point I knew God is involved.

POF
With the help of God, I worked on this smartly, and I made sure no fund more than 250k was deposited into that account (at once), in d last one year. Thus, I wrote no LOE, Gift deed… and I wasn’t questioned. I submitted Acct Statement, general reference letter from the Bank and also the Bank reference in CIC format.

MEDICALS
I used IOM at Ikeja and it went well.

ITA TO PPR
My M.Sc Certificate wasn’t ready cos Unilag kept shifting the Convocation ceremony. Though I had used Attestation for WES evaluation, I needed the Certificate after ITA. As they always say, delay is not denial. As at the time IELTS was delaying me, Unilag refused to do Convocation and the same month Unilag had the Convocation ceremony (I guess), the same month I passed IELTS. After then, everything happened so fast. Little bit of delay gathering my documents, but God surprised me.

I got the Biometrics letter on the 12/09/2018 and I captured it on Monday, 17/09/2018. My people, I sent a mail to my agent on 20/09/2018 to update me on the Biometrics, and what I got was d PPR letter. The letter was actually dated 19/09/2018, meaning I actually got PPR after 2 days.

My people it could only have been God at work. Many other challenges, many aspects I won’t be able to touch. Pls do not be discouraged. Cast all your cares upon God. I fasted and prayed and God delivered me. I trust God for u also. I lost days and months through IELTS but God made the last part a testimony.

For those preparing for IELTS; Study, study and study hard. There are many materials available on this platform. Youtube is also there for you. I will also suggest u use ieltsliz.com. Wonderful website.

Though I used agent, I had been on this thrend from Part 1 till now, quietly reading everything possible. I learnt a lot from here and wondereful people are here to help.

I thank you all for your love and support. We will all triumph.

TIMELINE:
IELTS = 12/05/2018
ITA = 13/06/2018
AOR = 11/08/2018
MEP = 12/09/2018
Biometrics Captured= 17/09/2018
PPR letter = 19/09/2018

You’ve done so much for me, I cannot tell it all… Narekele mo…
What shall I render to Jehova, for He has done so very much for me

I WISH YOU ALL THE VERY BEST OF GOD. THANK YOU

Thanks for this.

First attempt:LRWS- 7.5,8.5,6.5,7.0. BC 18/8
Second attempt : LRWS - 8.0,6.5,7.0,5.5. MOD 29/9

What actually amazed me was that my strength has always been reading I felt I did very well even to level that am currently thinking of a remark cos I kept wondering how I could I miss close to like 14 questions in that test to warrant a 6.5 in reading but when I read that getting an improvement in reading is difficult I just weak.

And for that speaking,am also having issues being that I did so well in fact i probably did better in the second attempt than in my first attempt when I got a 7.0 ...imagine 5.5 telling me am an average user of English.

Though still thinking of paying the 46k for EOR for both reading and speaking(which I doubting whether is a good option considering the cost)

Since I got that result am just in a dilemma of what next to do cos this last result really damned my confidence.

I just weak. even if am to write again should I just go back to BC or stick with MOD cos the score I had in speaking for MOD has started making me to have some negative feelings about them.

I understand how you feel dear. exams are often like that. especially that Reading section. even during practice, one will think they are acing it only to get the shock of their lives when they get to the answers page.
i don't have much experience to guide u with, as I'm still trying to taste the IELTS waters myself, but one thing i know for sure is that nothing beats good practice... practice always!

i think you should take like two months break before registering for the next test to enable you practice some more.

i doubt if a remark in Reading will come out positive, as it is highly objective, and if it won't come out positive, even an upgraded Speaking scores will do you no good.

as for whether to write with BC or MOD, i don't think it really matters. people who switched from one body to another and got positive outcomes may have practiced harder or worked on their weaknesses from the previous test.
still, if i were you, I'd go back to BC...for sentimental reasons only, since you had better scores with them. Sentiments have a way of boosting one's confidence, and confidence can make the difference between success and failure.

Lastly, like your monica clearly says, you shoukd always be positive.
Giving up is not an option at all.
Nah....not after you have come this far.

Surely as the Lord liveth, your next IELTS will be your last attempt...but you must practice hard and well.

all the best dear.

But the thing is just with the various reviews online,is it likely for one to get an upgrade in reading?... But since remark is a bit cheaper in BC than MOD you could give it a try....All the best bro... I will probably just go for a re-sit

Swansy10:

I perfectly understand how you must be feeling. I also just got my result LRWS - 8.0,6.5,7.0,8.0 (1st attempt)(BC)
Reading was the easiest in my opinion and I was so sure I would get atleast an 8.0. I am planning on going to their office tomorrow to ask for a remark but that 10 weeks waiting time scares me.

I wrote with MOD on my 2nd and 3rd attempts and I ended up with 6.5 in writing both times. I ran back to BC and aced it on my 4th.

People have passed with MOD too so no one knows for sure but my advice is to practice really hard!
I had the pleasure of putting my practice notebooks away yesterday and I realised i was doing 8-10 practise tests per day. I mainly used www.ieltsonlinetests.com for listening then switched to YouTube when I was done with it.
Reading was ieltsfever and mini-ielts.com

Writing was Ieltsliz both her free and paid resources

I never really touched speaking. I think the first 3 attempts gave me enough experience.

Just keep at improving. I think what also helped me was that I wasn't just preparing for IELTS but used it as an.opportunity to improve my English and reading passages gave me some knowledge on different range of topics I would ordinarily not seek out.
You'll do great as long as you practice and it becomes a part of you.

I really want to be in the pool by next draw because with my 444 i'm very nervous the Cut of will soon go out of my reach. My Only problem is the soft copy of my ECA had been mailed to me since Sept 10th and uptil now I haven't received it. ( PEBC does not upload ECA RESULT online you have to wait for the soft copy to get to you.) Can I use my PEBC ID no for the ECA report no and quote September 10th as the date?

Please anyone that has experienced something like this should help me out.

Takes about 3 weeks to get to Naija.
Apply for another ECA copy and use a proxy or friend's address in Toronto. That should take 3-4 days to deliver.

The 5 points is usually deducted from your score even before u submit after ITA ,u can check this by using the 'review my score' button at the end of the page.
However, the visa officer is obliged to calculate your score based on your pre ITA info. So even if your score drops below ITA cut off cos of birthday, you cannot be rejected based on that except you changed a vital info that affected your scores.so its no surprise it shows up on gcms Don't know how to post links relating to this from cic

Cc chinenyeT

Exactly. The VO has to deduct the five point due to your birthday but provided that the reduction would affect your scores so much that it goes below the cut off of the draw you got ITA, he would have to call upon the provision that bypasses that law.

Hi people.
Please pardon me if this question has been answered before.

I was born on April 1992. I read somewhere that those who were born before Dec 1992 do not need to get the NPC Birth certificate.
How true is please? I already have an affidavit, should I still be using it and forget getting the NPC Certificate? Please those that did the NPC Certificate, were you born after 1992?

Thank you.

Guidelines to process applications under Section A11.2 ie. recalculate CRS: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/permanent-residence/express-entry/assessing-electronic-application-on-section-a11-2.html

Public Policy to exempt loss of points due to age: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/mandate/policies-operational-instructions-agreements/age-based-requirements.html

The words "should consider" , "may grant an exemption" seems to me to place it at the discretion of the case officer.

I was happy to read about your experience. I do need some guidance right now.

I am about to commence my ECA. Although I have been fully cleared by the senate, I am unable to get a statement of result or a certificate from my institution until next year, after the convocation.

Is there any document I could use in place of this to at least get started with ECA?

I intent to use ICES, and according to the information which is provided on their website, I will need to upload my degree certificate or statement of result.

Is there any other document that can help me bypass this ?

Good morning house.

Please I'm asking for a friend whose husband (not PA) IELTS is delaying them.

The wife, whose the PA, is done with IELTS but the hubby has been getting 3.5/4 in each of LRWS after 3 attempts but needs to get at least 6 in LRWS in order to boost their points.

The wife is now thinking of applying as married but without the hubby accompanying her, then file for him later.

Please house is there any implication with this option.

Please I need your opinions/suggestions.

i have gone through this page in the most efficient manner possible, yet i have not seen the one that talks to my bestie's predicament even though i have seen some closely related case.

while doing his int'l passport through his company's travels department some years ago, he adjusted his age in line with the age that he applied/scaled the recruitment of the company(this is not excusable but an effort to align his company info and job hunting desperation days things he muttered).

Now, he has been thinking he cant participate in the express entry because of his clearly stated normal date of birth on his LASU school transcript and passport birth date disparity.

Questions(just two abeg!)...can he use the intl passport like that which guarantee a CRS score of 440 till next year of April 2019(birth month) or go and spend close to double of his monthly salary to get a new pass with a normal birth date that can only give him 431 crs and will be ready in close to a month?

After going through with the ECA, will he still have to submit the transcript to an officer at any stage before a golden gift is given ?

kindly see below and advise.

Firstly, i will like to appreciate the effort of those who have lighted the path of others like me in this forum. GBY all..amen.

i have gone through this page in the most efficient manner possible, yet i have not seen the one that talks to my bestie's predicament even though i have seen some closely related case.

while doing his int'l passport through his company's travels department some years ago, he adjusted his age in line with the age that he applied/scaled the recruitment of the company(this is not excusable but an effort to align his company info and job hunting desperation days things he muttered).

He can just get another passport that carrries the date of birth on the transcript now. He can't trick the system.
