I really do not have much information on WAEC and WES cuz this is a new policy. But if you had your immigration assessment recently, I think wes should have asked you for your waec, transcript and degree certificate. If this is your case and you've already sent this documents before, just follow the procedures Timotee gave and contact WES asking for a transfer of your documents. With this procedure, you would not need to send a new waec certificate or other documents again. Please make sure to quote your 2 reference numbers when Contacting WES
Regards
Yureyes:

Thank you very much. I will just cancel my application with ECE and do WES. But I have to go to Yaba to get my
WAEC result sent to WES.
Please do you know how long it takes for WAEC to send result to WES? And what are the procedures? What are the documents I should take to WAEC office?

is it fall 2018 admission or 2019? Full-ride scholarship or paid tuition? .. . . This is an important phase, going over the entire thread from thread 1 would really be helpful and worth the time.

Good luck

If you were in my shoes. What will you do?

I'm currently a 300l engineering student here in Nigeria. I'm not even 19 yet. I recently got a full scholarship to the US to study any undergraduate course of my choice. I'm not paying anything (Even SAT registration fee) it's sponsored by a company here in Nigeria. Do I wait for 2 years to complete my Nigerian degree and forfeit the scholarship / just leave everything here and accept the scholarship?

I have made up my mind already grin grin grin but I just want to know what others would do in the same situation.

Also let me use this opportunity to encourage people. Don't stop trying. If you really want it, continue pursuing it. I've been looking for a full undergraduate scholarship since I left secondary school in 2015. I tried MasterCard twice, tried Edsap. Didn't get any but I just kept trying. I also applied for the BEA federal government scholarship twice, didn't get it(even though I don't know why till now).

Two months ago, I got a full scholarship. I'm currently preparing for my SAT in December (I was registered for free wink )

Keep trying people. Don't be discouraged.

This isnt a had choice to make, what you needed to do is to get a transfer from your school here in Nigeria to your chosen US school. You can send your transcript and the University in the US will decide what year you will start from.

Please take the scholarship

I think this would've been hard to defend but with the scholarship i think he is covered.

A lil bit different from my case. They have evaluated the transcript.. Sent the school copy to the institution I applied to. But my own copy is still not received here in Nigeria.

I've sent you an email as regards the easiest way to secure loan to take care of USA school tuition.

The only fear I'm having is the repayment plan. Will it not affect my living standard after graduation?

LagosismyHome please allow me to ask this silly question. On converting my WAEC, i discovered it's 2.5, do you think a high SAT score would suffice to get atleast part tuition waived?

Most merit awards i see require a GPA of 3.5+ sad

Please I need someone to help me with corrections.
I applied to Atlantis University Miami Florida, Texas A&M University College Station. University of Alabama Birmingham. for my masters program.
If asked why I applied to these universities my response is:: They are located in bigger cities, I believe this will help me focus on my studies and achieve my goal of coming top of my healthcare management program.
Is my response good? I need suggestions.

No, your response is not okay. Do read previous transcripts some more and you'd come up with a better wording. Lagosismyhome had posted a link to previous transcripts earlier. Get busy with that.

Thanks a lot. WES do not need WAEC for immigration but they do for education. I will only have to send my WAEC to WES while they transfer other documents .Also I went to Yaba and was told what to do. Thanks a lot

No.... instead talk more about the school and the strength of the program. That a school is located in a big city is not a good enough reason

The list above are schools with enough strength and positive things to talk about . You listed College station, surely there are lots of good things why college station

Hi Guys,

Now my testimony. It was all God.

I had my visa app (J1) today in Abuja, 1pm.

7 persons were before me. 2 were denied (blue and yellow paper). All interviews took an average of 5-7 questions.

Now it was my turn. Name called to proceed to window 8. A white lady with pointed nose, may be in her late 30s.

V. O - with a smile, Good afternoon
Me: Afternoon Ma'am
V. O: what do you do in Nigeria?
Me: I am a legal practitioner, specifically a prosecutor with xxxxxxxxxxxxxx. My duties include xxxxxxxxxxx
VO: Are you married?
Me: No
VO: Any Children?
Me: No
VO: Alright. I will be approving your visa..... Bla bla bla.
Me: All smiles. Thank you and do have a great day.

NB: No travel history ie virgin passport and I'll be 29 come this December.

Bottom line : It was all God's grace. I went for my interview fasting sha.
