Good day,the vehicle starts most times and stalls to a halt while being driven,it displays on the dash board stop and start system malfunction visit your dealer.we have checked the start and stop switch, thumb start switch all seem ok, a scan of the vehicle did not show any code. Please Gazzuz, auto Josh,sienna etc please assist

Still under warranty take to your nearest dealership repairs will be free. Your dealership should be able to fix it is part of their requirements to have the license.you may have to contact Toyota world wide customer service representative first. If your car is a salvage you are on your own you just have to look at what the last mechanic messed with newer cars have the auto stop start and your mechanic may have decided to try bypass that function without knowing you have to turn off the switch yourself and it might restart everytime you restart the car |

JAYUK: the problem you want to run things cheaply the car clearly is telling were the issue is and you are talking the car to an average mechanic its a 2017 and from the basic study here most general mechanic still remove the thermostat saying its for cold climate and you expect the same mechanic to diagnose your 2017 car Most the mechanics dont have a scan they can do ABS or Airbag take it to the toyota dealer it will save your car from being butchered |

Like we have said many times before most of the cars sold in Nigeria are salvage with substandard repair done buy the dealer or done in Nigeria. A proper repair by nodushop on the US would have made it unprofitable to sell in Nigeria. Check on the VIN first before committing to anything purchase. When you have a newer model with existing issues from a salvage, you and your mechanic basically know the same thing because he has never seen the new system before. |

dannywest: Warranty expires when the nose got bruised In a proper system the shop that fixed it will warranty their repair to exceed oem Toyota will not own problem from salvage repairs. Pre own vehicle sellers will give you warranty beyond manufacturer to encourage you buying their car. This problem is easy for those who do diagnostic testing but you need the proper tools |

JAYUK: Now what I expect you to update us with ........ 1 - You are getting law enforcement agencies involved, to demand refund OR 2 - You are holding unto vehicle till full refund is received...OR 3 - Accepting that the 35% already paid, constitutes full and final payment of the vehicle. And you bare the cost of fixing this fault and other future faults that might rare their ugly head ...... Not forgetting that the airbags are now simply only decorative items ......... erico2k2: write off from the insurance means its not worth repair from insurance point of view to get it repairs remember companies that do repairs for insurance companies charge like crazy also like here in UK there are categories when come to accident damage cars and some categories require the car to be inspected after repairs by governtment vehicle inspection department, if the repairs are to standard then it gets approved then it goes to another different test which is roadworth certificate once the car is approved by the government, the dealer cant just say they wont deal with your car just like thats usually they refuse after taking your car in and discovering what they might think that its to dangerous to work on it eg an secured wires running allover etc but not from the vin report of being repaired accident damaged car |
