Do not despair. Many have endured even more frustrating experiences. Take it as a crucible and tonic for greater triumph. And yes, you'll pay another visa fee.
It's well bro. I just spoke to one of their agents and she told me I have to wait a week to get an appointment again. I have paid the visa fee again tho. Might juts be deferring the whole stuff till another semester. Lord have mercy

@ homirefacuny sorry to ask you this question, did you submit the statement of account before you were admitted and given the GTA?

I asked because I'm presently about starting my application to APSU

Sent you a mail, would appreciate your response

when is your resumption date on your i20? Did you go for the visa interview with any bank statement? And what happened in April when you went for visitor visa interview?

You have to apply again because your denial is ununderstable

22nd of Oct. Yes a legit bank statement even with the GTA. Nothing much happened. Asked me a couple of questions and I answered genuinely. Then boom... Blue paper. USA visa interview is really a SUBJECTIVE PROCESS. A friend was also denied with the same GTA and same school. No traveling or interview experience.. Just two questions asked. Damn!!!

Why sounding so sure about this? Do you know all the schools in US? Anyway, there are schools that evaluates transcripts in-house and yes they give admissions to HND into their masters program without WES. However its advisable to always have the WES evaluation.
Which of the schools admits HND without WES evaluation?

We learn everyday. Kindly give me a name of any US school that admits HND holders into an academic Masters program.

Mind you, don't advice anyone to use those in-house evalutors in America schools. They would NEVER evaluate an HND as the US bachelor's degree equivalent.

@abimbolar @MyAmericandream

I know of Ohio State University, University of Delaware, University of Rochester, Southern Methodist University and Clark University as examples. I got HND and currently having my masters in US. I have the WES evaluation but none of these schools requested for it, even when I told them I got it, they said they don't need it. They are research level institutions that have dedicated staff for these evaluation.

I don't understand what you meant by the bolded part.

but your interview date is too close to your resumption date, they normally frown at this. They may think you deliberately chose a late date so they can pity you and give you visa. These people always look for a reason to deny. They may even see you as an unserious person, maybe that's why they asked when you started processing the admission. I don't think you can be approved again with that resumption date on your i20, because even if you miraculously get an appointment on 20th and get approved, if you fly to the US after 22nd you will not be allowed to enter at the point of entry and you will deported because the date on your i20 is past. Maybe the school can extend the date by like two or three weeks for you and give you a new i20 then you apply for expedited visa appointment but if not defer to spring. I

The school has given me an enrollment extension. It was my yeye school in Nigeria that caused the delay in the WES evaluation. All is well. Thanks for the advice. We go again!!!

I am in severe pain and I need HELP because looking back through this whole journey, I am at the verge of giving up even when I know i have a great passion for this.

In July 2018, I was admitted into WVU but because of timing and immigration process, I deferred to Spring 2019 so I can get my 1-20 and other things.

August 2018, I received a notice of successful deferred admission and going through the whole process and getting done, I got a mail from my program assistant this morning that following one policy, I would need to retake the GRE test before I can continue with my admission because according to her "The state is requiring that students have a GRE score of  at least a 296..    You are only 6 points off." I had a 290

She attached the policy for me but God knows I am completely drained and do not have that work/GRE study strength again. What can I do? I am just too sad! After giving me admission then they come up with this when I am just having a prayer point of visa. Someone help!!!:

Yeah, I grab, a times even when you send a message to the schools asking them if they accept such, they won't give you a concrete response for reasons best known to them. I am enrolled for an MBA program (I also applied for MS programs and got admitted to one) and no separate fee for evaluation. I wasn't admitted into all but I was interviewed. I got admission from 3 of them.

Generally I'd advice anyone with HND to have the WES evaluation even though I did not use mine, I know I have it just incase....

Nairalanders. Please advice and help me. I have been a silent reader for a while before I opened an account.

After getting admission to Indiana state university terre haute, I have appeared for visa interview twice. I have been to Ghana by road in 2015 via God is good motors with my voters card cos I didn't have an international passport as at then.

My first visa interview was in September 20 at Lagos.

V.O : pass your passport and i20 which I did. Then he asked why I'm going to the US.

Me: to study for my MBA at Indiana state university

V.o: who is sponsoring your program?

ME: I have a personal savings, my parents will also be supporting me.

V.O: asked for statement,

Me: passed it to him

V. O: have you travelled out of the country before?

Me: yes.

V.O: "flipping through my virgin passport." to where?

Me: to Ghana, by road using my voters card because I haven't gotten my international passport as at then and I enquired from the transport company about using my voters card and they confirmed I can.

V. O: passed blue paper.

My second interview was yesterday. Also went smooth until travelling history was asked and I told them the same thing and was still denied.

I didn't want to lie and that is why I told the vo that I have travelled to Ghana before. But since there isn't any stamp on my passport to verify that, I don't know if the embassy have blacklisted me.

I'm thinking of saying I haven't travelled before in my next application but I thought of inconsistency.

I'm also thinking of visiting Ghana this weekend so as to get stamp. But I'm thinking it will raise a red flag.

Please is there any solution to my problem?, I'm scared of reapplying again.

For you and other readers who would see my post in the future: Never mention to a Visa Officer anything you're not able to prove exhaustively. Interviews are case by case, you might be unlucky to get a VO who would drill you with tons of probing questions. In your case, the only way to prove your travel history was via the stamped pages. Unfortunately, you hadn't those stamps which not only depicted you as trying to pool a wool over their eyes but having illegal migration tendencies.

Going forward, you will need to pause for a while on your visa application. Within this period, you may need to embark on the travel to Ghana or any other neighbouring country, and be ready to defend the reason for that trip (A plausible defence here could obliterate the effects of the past records). This time you won't have difficulty answering YES should that question rear up again.
NB: By travelling to Ghana by road, you could accumulate as many as 6 stamps on the to and fro trip.

I am not a Visa Officer, you could harvest more ideas from other contributors on this.

Indeed, I feel sad about your understanding of this procedure. You should know that the fact that you have not gotten your passport stamped shows outrightly that you haven't travelled out of Nigeria, not at all.

But you claiming that you have travelled, shows that you were once an illegal immigrant. And there is no where in the world that an illegal immigrant comes to the public to prove that they are one.

Well, to avoid issues with lies, as you claimed, travel to Ghana as you are planning, then ensure it is by a means that will have your passport stamped, but I will advise that you don't tamper unnecessarily with your passport, be wise, please.

I wish you understand the process beyond what I am feeling from your write up.

Don't give up, just be wise enough to get the visa in your next interview. I love you.

Why not mail the school's admission office and the program assistant to inquire if it will be possible to retake the GRE after getting to the US. You can give them valid reasons why you just can't take the test right now.
