Its not certain she abused the driver, were you in the bus when the incident happened?

Yes, they do but didn't

So if you are the driver and she sues you, your defence would be that she verbally abused you, hence to warrant an assault on her (an adult)

How do you prove the verbal attack in a court of law?

Judgment is based on evidence not sentiment.

NB: I'm not supporting anyone but we should call a spade a spade.
Since you standby the story that she was slapped you also have to prove she was truelly slapped

I am not supporting the driver for adding passengers along the way but the lady cannot get slapped just for asking

If this is what GIGM does, then they should know that their company is doomed!
yeah, but this is nigeria, the govt agency saddled with checking these guys will only collect bribes and hampers from them and look the other way, seen it happen before.

First I said "assault" not "slap"

From the picture posted shows the man after in an "attacking mode",

Other passengers like her sister is readily available to testify.

Lastly, dont take it personal.

Everyone in that bus had a right to question the driver not only her. If she abuses the driver in that process she is guilty of crime. Verbal abuse is also a crime. Her questioning the driver's motive is for safety purposes not for supremacy battle. Let us stop pushing things over the edge. Most passengers verbally abuse drivers who are in charge of their lives at least those hours you are in his bus. And if you push a driver to his limit psychologically he can crash the vehicle over arguement and what is your gain
I understand but most of the GIGM drivers esp the ones travelling to the south(don't know about others) are very insensitive and unprofessional!

Some passengers can be so passive and only shout when something bad is about to happen...that's reactive and not proactive!

Secondly, we were not there to know what happened but if you look at one of the pics where the driver was about to raise his hands before being snapped, you would conclude he was about slapping some one the second time!

No matter the provocation, staffs of companies esp well known are advised to be as courteous as possible and always explain explicitly to customers for any decision taken to douse any tension!

That driver just lost his job due to his unprofessional conducts!

Emperorempower:
Amongst all the transport companies, GIGM has the best customer service.

My advise:

1. Report the case to the customer care unit of GIGM

2. You will receive a swift response and the erring drivers punished accordingly.

3. Should 1&2 not work out, Get a lawyer and sue the company.

4. Before suing the company, make sure:

I: you still remember the date the incident happenedly vividly.

Ii: You filled the passenger manifest and details filled are accurate.

Iii: You have 1 or 3 witnesses who are ready to testify.

5: charge could range from any of these:
I: Breach of safety and endangering your life.

ii: Physical assualt on a customer.

Iii: That I&ii resulted you being psychologicaly depressed and traumatised.

(Your lawyer can add more)

6: Tag the damage at N50M (Putting your life at risk, and physical assault_ its worth any amount)

7: The company may contact your lawyer for a dismiss-and-deal, accept it but tag it at N70M,
Negotiations may bring it at 5-10M.

8. Make sure your story is consistent with every other passenger in that bus, atleast with 70% accuracy, because the company will hire up to 3 persons in that bus to testify also.

9: If you have the money, go for a SAN. Reputation is worthwhile.

Thanks.

Meanwhile, PMT frustrated my life last 2months,
Was coming back from Nsukka to Enugu.

Got my ticket, filled the manifest, and went to my seat,

When the bus was ready for the takeoff, extra loads were added to the bus, mehn, I couldn't stretch my leg through out the journey.

Midway into the journey, I complained to the driver but he ignored me.

I took picture of the extra luggage.

I couldn't walk proper when I got down from the bus, had to take pain relief drugs for such a short distance journey.

When we arrived Enugu, I told my boss about it ( he is a chief Magistrate , UDI magistrate court in Enugu), handed him the plate number, video and pics.

The following week, I was invited to PMT costumer care unit and they apologised.

Got A free ticket to any where I want to go, I will use it in December (Free ticket to PH loading)

Just give it a shot.
Ogaaaaaw! this one sounds like a million count charge of abuse.

I don't think all of this will work.

This is one reason I love ABC Transport. Their drivers and staff are well behaved. They may have one service failure once in a while, but they don't disrespect their customers.

Nope

Just free going and returning ticket to PH,

Meanwhile I didn't want to pursue the case in the first place, was just narrating it to my boss and he decided to take it up.

So far, I'm okay with the ticket.

PH wey I I no plan go, I go am.
Just b careful... Pmt isn't worth even the free ride.. Bought Gig tickets for my mum three times now and the buses all had issues on their way and she ended up getting to her destination around 9pm...first bus... Auto star is better seriously... the only ish is that Enugu is their last stop

This is exactly what the heck is wrong with Nigeria. Reading some of the comments from members of this forum, leaves no doubt which direction the country is heading to. It begs the question: "Which behavior is worse...the rulers of the country or that of the citizens?" With such attitudes as expressed in some of these comments, it is no surprise that the country is worse today in 2018 than it was 20 or 30 years ago. As a paid passenger, the lady had every right to think and worry about her safety especially knowing that some drivers collude with armed robbers to rob their passengers. This is Nigeria, a country where any and every unimaginable things can happen and do happen. As one person opined that she was not the employer and had no right to question him. She did not have to be the owner or the employer of the driver before she could exercise her God given right to ask questions especially as it relates to her safety and well being. Just because the other passengers were either too timid, didn't give a damn about their safety or better yet, might be in cahoots with the driver, does not mean she did anything wrong to warrant being physically assaulted. She should have called the cops on the errant driver and have him arrested. And to all those who made snide comments about the female passenger, I say, "you are part of what is wrong with Nigeria." If you want the country to change and be better, you must be the change you desire.

PMT my best transport company, i don't want anybody to come and start filling my comment with opinion, i will always follow them. i can recall the other day that i travelled with peace mass transit and forgot my bag inside the bus, never noticed until i got home. At home when i found out, i quickly picked my ticket and fortunately found numbers on them. i picked up pmt customer care line and placed a call, lol and behold someone picked. i narrated my ordeal to pmt customer service agent who now collected all the details of the travel, and said i will get back to you. Haaaaa! another gbege, till when, i asked in my mind as i had big money plus all my official documents inside the bag. some minutes later the phone rang, i quickly rushed to pick and it was my classmate, gosh! i felt like cursing him but managed to pick the call and bang the phone on him even when he was still speaking.
I kept panting, pacing up and down, finally the Peace mass transit customer care agent called back and said go to our park at Owerri, but have to wait till morning as there is no one there to attend to you. i never slept the whole night, i watched the clock tick till morning, finally the day broke , forgot to brush my teeth. i quickly paced and entered the available keke and zoomed off to peace mass transit park owerri, did not even remember to bring any money with me nor price the keke man. vam we got to peace mass park and the keke man started his own drama. i simply begged him together with those that noticed what was happening. we finally agreed that he will take me back home once i collect my bag. i rushed in and was directed to meet the peace mass transit park owerri manager ,when i met him he simply asked of my details, i gave him and he said that pmt customer service agents already called him about the bag, and that the bag be released to the owner after proper identification. i took my bag waiting for the manager to also name his price but he simply said, thank you for choosing Peace mass transit. i was shocked to the bone marrow as the experience i had was way way far from what people talked about peace mass and what i actually read online. Thank you peace mass transit and to pmt drivers who have passion to go as far as discovering peoples forgotten item and keeping them intact.
