Hello all. I have been a silent plus lazy followers of this thread for a long while. Kudus to my inspirers mamajaz, incredible, barbie and co. I have a bnsc. I would really love to relocate. The processes seem complicated, long and scary to me. I am finding it hard determining which location between canada, US and UK to pursue. Considering the canada express entry , the proof of funds gives me chills( as i no get money) in considering the USA I Just registered with shearwater health but yet to sign contract ( as i want to be sure if it has my best interest compared to other agencies such as avant). Considering the Uk i am preparing for IELETS but some1 said UK nurses are not well paid compared to US and canada and that tax for hubby and children will cut my neck. My people sorry for long post i need advice, motivation and suggestions. Please between UK, USA and canada which has the highest and lowest benefit for nurses in terms of cost of living, salaries and other parameters. Thanks |

wondafl:I think UK nurses are well paid, but UK is not filled with much opportunities for nurses like US. US on the other hand is filled with various options, opportunities and specialties for nurses to choose from, but i think the main problem is the new Trump's immigration policies. Well, Canada may not be as interesting as the other two but I guess the pay over there can be quite cool, but another thing is language issue in case you're not familiar with French. |

wondafl:If your plan is to leave as soon as possible,I will suggest you go for UK,the process is fast and easy.,with agencies willing to assist.most agencies for US are now doing shakara. From UK you cab pursue US or Canada, those are expensive and more tideous. |

ToyosiR:I think she should call the Nursing board or nursing council of Cameroon and ask them this question. She ll be given first hand information straight from the source. |

| Re: Nigerian Nurses And Midwives With The Dream Of Working Abroad Let's Meet Here. by Nobody: 12:27pm On Nov 09, 2018 |
phyqtour:Infact, thats why many are rushing into the profession. Lol. Many of them think once you finish. U would just land the abroad job without exams. Im just looking at them. Yea, Nigeria is bad for every profession. If I Can't migrate, I would ultimately look for lecturing work. Can't do the shit they call nursing work in Nigeria, much more, as a guy. |

wow, are you indeed a nurse, that you call your profession a poo.True, nurses are under valued in the Nigerian society, yet you are suppose to be proud of what you do. I tell people nursing is lucrative, but if you are in it for money, then you will only end up frustrated and intimidated. It is always such nurses that start superiority war with doctors. Nurses are unique and not on the same league with doctors because we are higher intellectually, morally and socially. Nurses ashould never feel they are lesser than doctors or act as a doctor or wannabe a medical doctor. Do you ever see a doctor act like a nurse? I bet no. When you are unique and true to your profession, people will respect and honour you. Whether your pay is low or not, being a nurse alone should make you feel like a king, because nurses are Kings. Wear your profession like a royal regalia, and see many bow at your feet. Make other medical professionals jealous of you that they wanna be like you. When you speak, speak with knowledge, and see your words taken as authority; when you act, act skillfully and professionally that othersuse you as a yardstick in their doings. My greatest reward so far as a nurse, is when I look into my client's eyes and I see the appreciation/ gratitude, then I know I have made a difference in someone's life. Ask yourself, what do you achieve at the end of each shift you take, what difference have you made in your patient's life on your shift, other than, medication administered, I/O monitored, report and handover notes written? All these abroad nursing, we are all aspiring to do, is built on the fundamental principles of simple empathy, autonomy, benevolence, knowledge and skills. As a qualified nurse in Nigeria, what have you brought to the table? I AM A PROUD NURSE AND WILL BE A NURSE AGAIN AND AGAIN IN ANOTHER LIFETIME. Goodluck to us all in our search for greener pasture, but Nursing is never a poo, even in Nigeria. camobri: |

MamaTheMama:Nursing in Nigeria is shit! I woyld never practice except the compulsory internship. I said what I said, you cannot change my opinion and never did I say I was un proud of my profession. Nigeria is shit, everything is shitty. Abeg. |

camobri:Wow! That's a great deal of temper right there. I totally understand what you said. It's only in Nigeria that you'll see a RN beefing another nurse just because the nurse has a BNSC certificate or a matron seeing a BNSC student as a competition or a threat. And we're complaining nursing in Nigeria is not moving forward. That's a poo indeed. |

camobri:Lol, nursing in the US is much better than Nigeria but it’s not a bed of roses here either especially bedside nursing. In my area, there is massive turn over rate with nurses. |

Mastermindx:Nope, read my previous posts, never advised anybody against moving to the US or nursing if it was feasible for them. Just giving realities. Life is not a bed of roses , no matter where you are. |

Hello, although your question wasn't directed at me specifically but I could be of help if wouldn't mind. U don't have to pay another money to Nursing Council of Nigeria for another verification, the one with CGFNS will suffice. And if I got you right, u said your CES report has already been issued by CGFNS, if that's the case, all u need to do now is to wait for TBON to send u ATT, u don't even need to contact them for that, they will do the needful. I hope that helps! Rubygrace: |
