I think there is more to the Onazi situation. He did not play against Libya due to injury but immediately he went back to his club, he started playing.

Solanke has not been outstanding without doubt but strictly in the context of Liverpool. He is a small speculative option that hasn't paid off. But nothing is lost there were never big expectations on him anyway. If Liverpool need quality they buy proven and tested, they have the money.

Funny they could probably still sell him Solanke for near £10 million.

If you take him out of the context of Liverpool if he was in a mid level EPL club would he playing regularly , I would say certainly.

Again Solanke has not been great in the context of the very high standards that a forward player has to have to play for Liverpool. You really have to be close to World class to be a regular. But being a flop I would disagree.

Suarez and Coutinho left Liverpool to Barcelona that tells you the very high standards you have to achieve in Liverpool.

to me chukwueze's invitation is too early though it will serve as a learning tool and will boast his confidence as well. he just made few appearances for villareal so i dont think its enough to warrant a call up. inviting club brugges dennis would have been better.

He and Osimhen are not likely to make the SA game match day squad though.

They are likely to be tested against Uganda.
I also think our squad has too many wingers. We once had too many midfielders but that department of the team seems to have thinned out now. Rohr needs to inject fresh players into that midfield.

Osimhen has always been in Rohr’s good books even when he was not performing. Hence I’m not surprised at the call up. I’m not agaisnt the call up either. But let’s call a spade a spade. Local coaches are not the only ones guilty of having their boys. Even if Awoniyi did what Osimhen is doing right now, you and I know he won’t be invited. Since Onyekuru is out would there have been a better replacement than Chukwueze? That’s open to argument. I’m very ok with Chukwueze’s call up though.

The dropping of Awaziem is justified. But is the replacement justified?

I do not tolerate rookies in the senior national team and I also do not rate players based on their U17 performances alone. And I have always opined that not all Youth players will progress well to the senior teams. These have always been my stand right from day one here.

What I am against is running down the products of our youths system just in a bid to promote the English born players.

Once a Nigerian origin player is being talked about you immediately create division and separation.

The only consideration should be best quality no other consideration. what you are practicing is quasi tribalism against Nigerian origin players because they were not born in Nigeria.
