Ummn... he didn't turn the Superman role down, he got passed over. He's not an A-lister to be turning down lucrative roles like that. Did you know what Henry Cavill earned for that role alone? $14M! And when you add the huge bonuses of $9-10M he earned after the fact, the total payday approximates $25M! Why would a sane person pass over a career maker like that? Nah, bro, Matt got snubbed is all. There have been speculations that he got snubbed because of his sexuality (he's gay), but Matt himself have since debunked this, although, I have often wondered.

On The Witcher role, I don't think Matt auditioned, and even if he did, I highly doubt he would have snagged the lead role... not when an Hollywood A-lister - Henry Cavil - was available. You see, Cavil having gotten fired by DC over contract issues, was out of a job for a little while, and Netflix being the hawks they are (reckoned that the new show needs a marquee lead), saw their moment, and offered him the role (a lucrative salary per episode role) immediately, and Cavil being all about the money, accepted.

Nah, it's not a rumor. DC is trying to shake things up atm. They are seriously considering Michael. B. Jordan to be Cavill's replacement, which world make the next Superman a black guy.

Henry Cavill was a known star, though a B-lister before he snagged the lead role in Man of Steel. He has starred in a well known historical tv show, The Tudors, and numerous low budget films before finally breaking out with a lead role in an epic-fantasy blockbuster, The Immortals. The high glossing film gave him enough international recognition that helped him to secure the Man of Steel lead two years later. The Superman role made his career, and elevated him from a B-lister to an A-lister.

And yeah, Matt Bomer is gay.
