Mara had gone over to Stephanie's house so as to cheer up a bit, she spitted out for the umpteenth time that day, the pregnancy was really telling on her, she stopped by a shop to buy Tom-Tom, she needed to tell Kenny about her pregnancy so that he would speed up with the wedding preparations, she looked at the address sent to her by Stephanie to see if she was at the right place, she wished she was Stephanie that left her parents house to live alone, but her own father wouldn't hear of it. she dialed her best friend's number and she picked on the first ring.


"Hello steph, am at the address you sent to me, come outside" she spoke into the receiver.

It wasn't long before she came out and they entered into the compound. Mara looked around, the place was really nice, a one bedroom apartment with the living room furnished to a standard. three sofas, a 24 inches plasma television set, and a deep freezer adorned the living room, Mara wondered if she would move into her husband's house with all those properties.


"Steph, what will you do to all these properties when you get married?" she voiced her thoughts out.


"I will move in with them of course, it wouldn't hurt to have a double of all those things at home" she answered moving towards the fridge.


"Okay ooo, but as a spinster, having all these properties in your house is not really advisable, it might chase suitors away" she answered sipping her juice.


"Let's forget your lectures Mara, tell me, what is happening in your life?, how is everyone taking the news of the genotype?" she asked crossing her legs.


"We are getting married without the support of my in-laws, at least my mom is in support of the marriage and moreover Kenny had gone to see mom Agness at the prison to ask for her blessings, and am pregnant with Kenny's baby" she replied smiling down at her tummy.


"Wait, you are pregnant already?, what are your parents saying about it?" she asked widening her eyes in shock.

"Yes steph, am pregnant and don't even talk about my father, the man practically insulted me" she said gulping her juice all at a time.

"Let me refill your glass for you" Stephanie said taking her glass cup from her, she took it to the fridge and refilled it again.

"I cooked your favourite food dear bestie, let me dish it out for you" she said going into the kitchen.








"Now tell me doctor, why did you lie about the genotype test we had here?, it is better you start talking because I have found out that you lied to us" Kenny shouted angrily at the doctor.


"Calm down Mr Williams, I didn't do anything, what I gave to you was the original result" the doctor said fiddling with his pen.


"Do I look like a fool?, am I a kid?, if you don't tell me what I need to know now I will get you arrested, don't toy with me" he held him by the collar of his shirt.


"I have already told you the truth, I gave you the original result" he said still maintaining his stand.


"Alright then, we will see to that" he said dialing a number on his phone, " hello inspector, please come to the Stronghold hospital, I have a criminal in place of a doctor here, come as fast as possible" he said eyeing the doctor.


"Oh no, you don't have to involve the police in this matter, it is just something we will settle here and now, please keep your phone and sit down" he said now getting scared.


"Okay, am seated, start talking now" Kenny said realising that he had been standing all the time he was there.


"Am sorry Mr Williams, she gave me money to do it, I couldn't reject the money when am not even sure of getting that money within 6 months" he closed his eyes.



"Am not interested in how much the person gave to you, or if you would get the money within a year, just tell me who the person is" he eyed the doctor angrily.



"It is your fiance's best friend, she offered me a whooping amount of money"


"You are still lying to me Mr, which best friend are you talking about?" he asked sitting up.

"Miss Stephanie Eze, she doesn't want the both of you to get married, your fiance told her about the genotype test you wanted to do, so she came before you and made a deal with me, am sorry" he concluded.


"I don't believe this at all, why would she not want us to get married, we did nothing to her"


"she bought Tylenol from me, tell your fiance not to visit her or she shouldn't eat anything at all when she visits, that drug I mentioned is deadly and it kills" he said.


"Oh no, I spoke with Amarachi earlier today and she told me that she was going to her house, I need to call her right away, no, am going to the house in fact" he shouted rushing out of the doctor's office.

Episode 13


James woke up to see people in the hospital room with him, he looked around, there were about five men in the room, he only recognized Gabriel.


"Who are they Gabriel?" he asked weakly.

"You are awake bro" he said as all heads turned to James' direction.

"Yes, am awake, but who are they?" he asked again.


"They are journalists from Abuja, the president sent them to interview you on the case you just handled" he answered not having the strength to introduce them one after the other.


"What will happen after the interview?" James asked.


"Nothing really, you would be shown on TV, your heroic deeds got to Aso Rock, the president wants to award you, you will be the next Inspector General" one of the men said.


"I just don't want to be on TV, the president needs to do something about the ladies that were already shipped out of Nigeria" James said wincing in pain, his back was really hurting him.


"Yes, he has sent words to the presidents of those countries, they are looking into it, the ladies will soon come home" one of the men said yet again.


"How do you feel right now?" another journalist asked.


"I feel pains, the injury on my stomach has not healed yet coupled with the one I have on my back " he replied eyeing the journalist, was it not obvious that he was in pains?


"How did you feel when you found out that the D.P.O was involved in this barbaric act?"


"I felt disappointed and and shocked, I took him as my father, I never knew he could do something like that" he concluded shaking his head.


"We heard that Mr Williams of Dalena company was involved with the CLAVES, how true is that?


"that is not what we will discuss on air, he actually sent the mobile policemen that came to our rescue" he said twisting his face, an expression of displeasure of where their interview was heading to.


"Alright now, you will have to end the interview here, as you can see James is unwell, he needs to rest" Gabriel said coming to his rescue.


"Alright then James, just have it in mind that arrangements has been made already, you are the new inspector general, take care of yourself" he said as they all trooped out of the room.


"How is Anny?" James asked as soon as he got a breathing space.


"I have not seen her since she left here while you were unconscious two weeks ago" Gabriel answered collecting water from the water dispenser close to the bed.


"Was she at the seaport on that day I got shot?" he asked narrowing his eyes.


"Yes bro, I didn't even stop to think of what she was doing there, who told her that we were there, all I had in mind was for you to wake up, you died bro, I mean you died, I felt life go out of you, I felt your body go cold, I thought I would never see you again" he muttered as a tear dropped down his face.


"I can't really explain what happened, but that day, I felt my spirit leave my body, I was already gone until someone touched me and I heard my name, and then I heard when you told them to take me to the car" he explained as a tear also slipped down his face, he couldn't bear to see Gabriel cry in front of him.









"Welcome Master" Anny greeted him as soon as he entered the Triangle point.


"Anny, why did you go to the seaport even when I told you not to" he asked sitting down.

"Am sorry master, I wanted to see how everything would unfold"


"You are in love with him aren't you?"


"No master, am not in love with him"


"Shut up, you are not in love with him and you went all the way to calabar because of him? anyway, that is by the way, your mission is not yet accomplished, you need to kill the remaining two founders that are in prison" he said bringing out his iPad.


"But I thought that everything has been settled, they are in prison now and I heard that the president is working on bringing back the ladies including your sister" she said looking at him.


"Listen to me Anny, I want the founders to die by my hands, I don't care if they are in prison or not, James did his work and he has been rewarded, it would be an honour to me if I kill all the founders" he lit his cigarette.


"Okay master, I will kill them then" she answered shaking her head.
