Following as usual. I can’t believe how much I’ve learnt about building construction on NL. Me that didn’t even know what parapet is now I can boldly explain to others how to start a building from foundation to roofing including materials needed, cost of materials as at now etc...Am still learning, so following as usual. Feels really good to be following threads concerning buildings. I always look forward to updates.

Yes pegging the foundation. We use pegs to determine the level of the blinding which the foundation will be on, then spread the pegs on all of the foundation and then get a uniform level on which the whole building can sit on. We do this before we start casting the foundation with concrete.

We completed all foundation excavation works today, measuring the works before paying off all workers. .......

We have a water supply challenge in this site, I was under the impression that there was a borehole near this site, but since there is none, I went and bought a water pump to help pull water from a natural water body near this site.

The new water pump, hoses and accessories . .......

In less than 1 hour, I had filled two big tanks with water We're now ready to roll........

Thanks. I can understand now. The little time I spent in the system we only take level of the foundation bottom and do same as we are laying the concrete.

This is what happens when you have an educated , experienced problem solver in charge.

Many less innovative people will wait for 1 month to get a tanker that will agree to come supply water to the site and frequently delay the project due to lack of water.

When I say pegging, I mean these iron rods pinned to the ground to show me where exactly the concrete blinding will get to before we stop. The Level Of ALL The Pegs are supposed to be the same.........

Meanwhile, we started placing the column base reinforcement and starter bars in their spaces, creating the columns of this house.........

Blind the column bases with concrete, place the column base reinforcement, then stand the column starter bars ...........
