With that profile? Go to a top ranked school. Search for top schools for engineering. U of Notre Dame, Northwestern university, university of Florida.

@masterforcell your best bet is to apply for PhD. But for safe schools:
University of Louisiana at Lafayette
Northeastern university
Texas tech
University of Connecticut

I appreciate your advice. I have indeed applied to some top ranked schools - VTech, Purdue, RPI, UMass amongst others for a mix of MS and PhD programs. I just want to spread my risk this time, something I failed to do in fall 2018, hence my request for suggestions for "safe schools".

Dont sell yourself short If you studied this well to get a great profile then leverage on it and dont settle. Your future will thank you later. Its beyond just "school" the solid/quality relationships that you will build would be second to none. Try top schools you will be surprised i bet you. You are from Africa, You will be taken with that profile. Texas A&M university, University of Chicago etc.
Safe:
Northeastern Uni

Join MSinUS on facebook you will gain alot of information there.

Wow. Thanks so much for this. Applied to some top schools. Just needed a diverse selection of schools.

First thing first is to ease your nervousness. Remember, the VO is as nervous as you although, s/he is trained to hide his/hers. Take it as an opportunity to educate someone on what you want to do and why you are well prepared for it. Do you know the elevator pitch? Address each question as an elevator pitch cos the VO at that moment has your attention full time and just try to pass your point across without appearing as being bossy or loud and the easiest way to do same is to calm yourself down knowing both of you are nervous. You about getting the Visa and him about not making mistakes in his choice of whom he grants a visa.

Thank you so much... I will work on that

good morning everyone is it advisable to put the country you transit in as a travel history, but his passport wasn't stamped in that country, in the past someone had travelled to UAE and transited through Egypt, but his passport wasn't stamped in Egypt airport, just 30minutes layover only in UAE his passport was stamped during entry
now when filling his DS-160 form

1. can he put Egypt as one of the country he has visited for last five years?
2. can he say Egypt is one of the countries he has visited when asked at the US embassy, his passport carries no Egyptians sticker is that safe to say to the vo?

Thanks for your contributions , and your candy advice in advance

NO!!!
Since it's not documented on the passport. Saying such would raise a, big red flag and might (in most cases) warrant a straight denial. Just mention UAE. Success

If you used lagos the first time, don’t rush to Abuja to avoid asking you why choosing Abuja this time Cos some people thinks Abuja is easier and they know that. You can request for emergency appointment within 30days to school resumption date. Don’t rush it

I have paid but I've not picked a date yet. Abuja next available date for previously refused applicant is Nov 6 while Lagos us January 8. For regular, its Nov 6 and DEC 14 for Abj and Lagos respectively.

here is the rule for emergency appointment on their website ‘Students or exchange visitors
Purpose of travel is to begin or resume a valid program of study in the United States within 60 days when no regular visa appointments are available. This option is limited only to students and exchange students who are within 60 days of their start date. It is also limited only to applicants who have not been refused a visa within the last six months at either the U.S. Embassy in Abuja or the U.S. Consulate General in Lagos.’

First one but i didn't use it eventually as i got a mail that my evaluation will be completed in 7 days time. So i called the courier agent to find out if it's possible not to send it anymore. I sent my university transcript to them earlier this year for immigration evaluation, when this waec rule wasn't in existence. So obviously they used the same documents for me for this current academic evaluation.
