Hello my great people..It's been a while.
I'm about filling DS160 form for myself and 2 kids. Had the last baby in houston.
We are planning on travelling next year
My last baby's godmother is in houston, a long lost friend I reconnected.
Should my answer be yes if asked whether I have anybody in US

Happy New month

Goodday , please I have a question. So I traveled 2016 dec to have my baby , due to unknown circumstances I had my baby at 28 weeks (premature) , it was a very traumatizing time for me. The baby stayed in the hospital for almost 2months but his pediatrician adviced we stayed back for a while until the baby is healthy and good to go. This required me to overstay more than 6months but I applied for an extension. Note that I didn’t violate any of their laws. Now I’m trying to renew my visa via Dropbox but I was asked to come for interview in April. Please has anyone experienced this and how well can I prepare. I am also not pregnant so I’m not applying to go for child birth.

Phew...

I have always wondered if having an American child is really worth it on the long run. I was speaking with my American colleagues and all three of them were just complaining...(these are "privileged" very well educated Americans with good jobs)

The inequity and high cost of health care in the country. the loans...huge huge student loans they are saddled with... the over reliance on "credit"... the taxes...the fact that my child will always pay taxes to the US govt wherever he lives in the World. T

Is it even really worth it?

I mean, yes, the passport allows you to travel visa free to many countries but what else?

It’s worth it if you come from a third world country. If one is from another developed country then it may not be worth it .

Sorry about your ordeal. To be honest, I think these hospitals should provide a document stating that discounts are usually given to cash paying patients. From your interview, you did nothing wrong. You paid your bills and declared your intentions at your previous interview.
I’m yet to do drop box because I used doctores in 2016 and the itemized bill I received showed a huge discount. I’m really concerned.
If you really want this, you can re-apply.
You can monitor the website to see if you’ll find another date before your EDD.
I wish you all the best.

It is their boarder. Even in your visa , your entrance is at disgression of the CBP. You don’t have a RIGHT in another country.
MamaOO:

What I meant was that, if there is no legal justification or constitutional backing as to why a CBP officer sends a woman back to her country and does so simply out of spite because she’s come to give birth, some people might/can sue and could possibly win. People sue the government here and win. You know that. Nothing is impossible in the court of law. And you I believe the CBP officers are also bound by law to be fair and just in what they do.

Lmao. And who told you it’s not my country too? Or that I need a visa to get in the country? I was talking on behalf of the people who had been sent back unjustly and what can and cannot happen. Calm down and read what we were talking about.

Well, I also had a similar experience in 2013. Was stamped in for just 14 days because according to CBP, I got Visa for holiday and didnt state that I was coming for childbirth. I wasn't pregnant as at the time we applied as family for the visa and wasn't thinking of having another baby then. was also told by another CBP officer that I should have contacted a doctor before coming. I was asked to look for a doctor within 14days, pay my doctor and hospital fees and have the doctor write to USCIS stating the reason I cannot return to my country in 2weeks. I did and sent them a mail explaining why I cannot send in my application from the US, which by the way was because I didnt have some of the documents they requested for. Got back to Naija after childbirth and made sure I DHL d my application before the time I was given to apply for extension. Think I had just 2days to closure of the application after I returned then. We had to expedite the application letter with all that was requested. Monitored and followed up on their website to see if they received my application which they did. Was already back in Naija when the extension was approved.

So the question is, did you have your doctor do them a letter stating why you had to stay? Did you write to them stating why you can't return? Did you submit all the documents requested for? Was the extension approved? Cause I have done 2 dropbox renewals since then without interview.

Sorry for the mixup bro. I guess I have forgotten. I think you should just diplomatically put the reason the VO gave for the denial. Moreover VOs are different. I pray she meets a more considerate VO this time. And if you are leaving your kid(s) behind because of ties, make sure she has an answer for who will take care of the baby when you people are in the USA. Again I wish you and your wife best of luck.

In the spirit of sharing. My sister got her visa on monday at the Lagos Embassy. She's never been to the US before.

she was only asked why she is going to yankee for birth and she said dual citizenship for better opportunity. she used oakbend hospital to prepare her budget sheet and she was asked how much she had for the trip and proof of fund. The visa officer told her that oakbend is fond of giving people discount and will now send the bill to Medicaid. That she should not accept it. She should pay the full medical bill. As she was leaving, the security lady told her that she's tje only person they have given today.

please my people will it affect her visa if she ports to florida. someone said they were turned back cos they went to another state. I dont agree. please advise.

For the bold. There’s a new law right now designed to disqualify people that have used Medicaid, taken food stamp or cash benefits from the government from getting permanent residency. And for those with permanent residency already, from becoming citizens.

I don’t know what your future plan is. Unless you never want to be a US green card holder. If you think you might in the future, then don’t accept the so called discount that will make you a Medicaid beneficiary. All immigrants using Medicaid and taking food stamps because they have US citizen children have stopped for fear of being denied their own green cards as parents. Everything depends on your future plan. Even this may affect your re entry into the United States. The hospital will simply forward your case to the Medicaid department to make them pay for the balance of your bill. It’s not really a discount in itself. The hospital is a “fraud” making people use Medicaid calling it discount.

It’s not a rule or law yet. The wording says “Might deny visas, green cards or citizenship”. Keyword, might. And no, I’m in support of gaming the system and getting those benefits, just letting you know this is not a law in place yet.

Hello people, I got a shocker from Naija embassy at DC. They stopped giving booklets to babies. Said they would rather give adults cos of the "scarcity" of booklets.
Option they gave us was to process emergency travel certificate for the newborn.
Please who has used this recently? I read sometimes back here that it is no longer accepted.
I have about 4 days to my travel date..anyone who knows how I can still apply for visa on arrival ( I know..it sounds very ridiculous but I am desperate).
Any insiders pls help a sister!

She deliberately trying to make things difficult for herself, why change of city and hospital after getting the visa?

Of course she is most likely to be questioned at the POE
