Good morning, Thank you very much to everyone contributing to this thread really very insightful. I wanted to ask about the duration and issues with applying for a Nigerian visa with a US passport for a 5 month old baby applying from Sacramento, flight has been booked for 29th November and Baby's mother was adviced to get a Nigerian visa after applying for visa on arrival by email. Thank you |

ninab: There is also no law impeding that you have your baby in the USA yet officials often look for excuses to deny visas. You want to avoid any and all discrepancies that can be viewed as an excuse to deny your entry/visa since this looks as if you were untruthful and contacted a doctor solely to receive the documentation you needed only to enter the US and go to another hospital where the price is different and without providing proof of being able to pay the different fees. All these discrepancies are much more occurring in Nigerians than people from other countries which is why officials are rightfully more suspicious and cancel more Visas to Nigerians. 7 Likes |

Vlesparza: Well said. You don’t have to break any law before they send you back from the POE. Everything is subject to their judgment, feelings and discretion. The best way to avoid stories that touch is to leave no loopholes. 4 Likes |

duvocharrison: Good evening everyone, Been a while I came here. Hope everyone is good. Just thought I should add this here. I also had a baby in America in 2016 and renewed my visa this year. I had the baby in oakbend and I had a letter from oakbend stating how much I paid and also stated that the state of Texas or any organisation in the USA did not pay any part of my bills. I wasn't called for an interview after Dropbox though I stated during the initial interview that I was going to have my baby in America. I just think adding the clause that no one paid any part of your bills might help during visa renewals. 4 Likes |

Pls I need the house advice.I was denied Us visa in October although i stated my intention for medical and also got the doctor's correspondence. The only documents d VO asked for was the doctor and hospital correspondence and my bank account statement which I gave him. And he asked if I've traveled before which I said NO.. Is it possible for me to reapply and get the visa or should I just let go and forget it.. I still have up to December ending to be able to travel |

If you used Del Sol, contact Nicole the financial counsellor. I made her give me a letter of non-indebtedness explaining why my bill was low and my itemized bill showed huge discount. gurlnext2u: |

Sorry about your denial. Try getting a letter of non-indebtedness from the hospital explaining that you were self pay patient paying cash and that that's the rate giving to such patients and no insurance or medic aid was used to pay your bill. Then when filling another DS160 form, there's a place they ask "have you been denied a visa before. Explain" write in detail how your last interview went that vo was displeased with the discount but that was what you were given and you now have a detailed letter from the hospital explaining this and no insurance or medic aid paid your bill. Hope this helps. duvocharrison: 3 Likes |

Yetty22: Hi Yetty, This is my first time using this platform. I have been a guest on this trend. Just thought I should share my experience with you. I had my first interview end of Oct and was rejected. I went for my second interview just 9days after the first at first the VO gave me a another rejection let and I asked for a specific reason why I was rejected again. VO said from my last interview I didn't proof I had enough funds to pay for my bills. I told the Vo I came with another bank statement and insisted the VO sees it. After subsequent questions after checking my bank statement my Visa was approved. Please apply again, don't let other people's encounter scare you. Go with the grace of God.trust, also be very prepared for your next interview. When I have time I would post my transcripts for both interviews. 4 Likes 1 Share |

In the spirit of giving back. I went to Abuja for my interview on Wednesday. The interview took less than 2 mins and We were denied. They didn't even check our documents at all. Just 3 questions and she gave us the pink paper. Question: Where do you work? What do you earn? Where have you been to? Why the US and not UK (Hubby work with Uk here in Nigeria and we both had our masters in the UK). That is all. I really do not know where we went wrong though. I have decided to apply again but the date is the problem. If you have any idea of what we can do to get another close date. I will really appreciate. We have all documents updated, Dr's fee paid, accommodation paid and bank statements of both showing good fund. Thank you |

OmoBendel24: Immediately I was handed the blue paper and my passport was returned . I asked him to please give me the specific reason why I was rejected, note that he asked me questions before the refusal but didn't ask for any document. That is when he told me about me not having enough funds for my bill and I insisted he Checked the new statement I brought. My Visa was rejected and approved during the same interview 1 Like |
