Please can someone clarify my ignorance, all documents were submitted but we didn't write a cover letter, hope it won't affect decisions?
Secondly when will I start counting is it from the day of biometric or the day my documents was received @Sheffield?

There is no ECO officer on this page to know the PERFECT ANSWER(S) to your question. We are all coming up with our own suggestions from our experiences and other people's experiences. Don make it seem as if the person that said it could lead to a 10 year ban has done something evil. if you have not asked the question he/she would not have come up with such advise. And he/she said COULD not a definite verb. When you know it was a little error then why not overlook it rather than asking questions about it? At least @lexus responded to you earlier to write a letter. what more do you want? Trying to shame the person for his/her advise??

If you think the cover letter would be of great importance, write it and send it to them.

You probably would not get a ban........ Worse case scenario, they reject application and ask you to clarify any discrepancies........ (to avoid a rejection on a slight error) ...

Hence I advised sending that letter, in my earlier response.......

They clearly requested a letter of introduction for spousal visa applications......

Did you send a letter of introduction and ignored cover letter? Or you sent none ?

Before you start counting days, you better quickly draft a letter of introduction and send it ...... Or else that date you are already counting, you might not like the outcome ....

I have known application refusals, on this simple error..... Send a letter of introduction, including your application reference.

If you don't have a format, send a pm to a recent successful graduate, from the University of Spousal visa (Nairaland Division)......

Ideal travel date, is only for reference. If you apply in December and apply via priority, put a travel date of mid January.

If you apply via normal application route, put a travelling date to reflect about 3/4 months afterwards .........

NB: As stated, date are simply for reference. They would never speed up application to meet your travelling date ......

Thank you

Great tutors of Nairaland visa institute, please I would like to know if it's advisable as last resort for a couple to use a room (ensuite) in a shared house to meet accommodation requirements (of course with an inspection report).

@ Lexusgs430 and all
I have a friend that applied for the spousal visa and submitted everything on the checklist except sponsor data page but was refused on the following ground

TB test which was included, they claimed it was not included.
And then that she did not put in a copy of her own passport data page as sponsor.

They said all other stuff are alright.

My question now is that if she go for appeal, will the sponsor passport data page be seen as a new document and not admissible for appeal?

Snap a copy of the refusal letter and attach. Snap with camscanner app .....

Did your friend read this thread prior to applying?

Why would you apply for Spousal visa and not include the most important document identifying the sponsor?

Things she needs to do -:

1 - Lodge an appeal
2 - Submit a coloured copy of sponsors bio data page to Sheffield and a copy of the TB certificate (This must be sent individually to Sheffield, with a formal letter explaining circumstances of refusal, clearly write application reference number on letter).........

She did but the hubby was applying from Ghana. I was surprised that the data page was not included because i checked the docs with her before it was sent to sheffield.

Does the sponsor have a UK passport? Has applicants sent documents been returned?

If you checked before sending to Sheffield, check again for stated missing documents. If they are not included, you probably checked initially after consuming a crate of red wine ...... grin
