This is some real bad news. You mean to tell me hat after December 28 my nairaland osu friends LZAA and Immhotep will no longer be osus? This is unacceptable, in fact I will not take it

I don't blame Igbos for their deep hatred for other tribes, for a dog that eats its own flesh cannot be blamed for biting a passerby.

officially the Osu cast system has been abolished in most igbo towns, but the stigma is what has refused to leave. one case i know of, after the igwe abolished it, his people came out em mass to congratulate him for standing for what is right, and also urged him to show a leading example for others to follow by either marrying any of his daughters into one of the osu families or marry a girl from any of the Osu families. Till date the Igwe has not granted the request of the people he leads and abolished the osu system in their presence

For the first time, it seems the Igbo have finally started taking themselves seriously.

There is no way u can be asking to be treated with dignity in Nigeria when you don't treat one of your own with dignity. You can't ask to be treated fairly and looked upon with kindness when u don't treat your own people fairly or look upon them with kindness.

The Osu caste system is among the major causes of setback for the Igbo. Nature and karma has been against you guys for ages for every tears and pain an OSU passes through.

This makes sense. Unfortunately, the Osu Caste system isn't going away anytime soon, not even after the slated date.

The practice is somewhat dogmatic that some so-called religious people have not been able to drop it in the name of their fate.

Save there is a mass mind purge, so many families will still hold this 'tradition' dearly, particularly when it bothers around marriage and fellowship.

Uncle Igbos don't have any deep hatred for any tribe....you only agree with what you see on the internet....have u been to the deep rooted part of igboland to confirm your assertion?
