Good evening everyone, I have a valid US B1B2 visa and valid 10year UK visa. I want to apply for a Canadian visa with the hope of using it for birthing at some point. Though I'm not pregnant now. I have also applied for Canadian PR before though we don't qualify because of age. Do you think this will affect my application? I have absolutely no intention of living anywhere illegally. Also have extensive family travel history. Just wondering. |

Good morning all. Having read all the pages of this conversation, i realize that making known ones intention if pregnant is the best and honest way, which i am also adopting. However i would like to ask some questions so as not to make mistakes. 1. My brother who is based in Canada is inviting me to give birth in Toronto where he resides. 2. Can we apply for a family visa even though my husband would be joining me much later when i put to bed but my daughter would be staying back in Nigeria as social ties. Does this make sense or i should go alone and much later my husband and daughter apply later 3. Does my employer have to state on my letter that I am entitled to 66 days maternity leave, alongside with other information that would be written on the introductory letter from my employer?if anyone have copy of such letter for maternity leave for visa application, i would like to have a view of the content. 4. When exactly do I need an itinerary plan/budget spreadsheet for visa application or POE engagement? Sample of itinerary plan and budget spreadsheet are also needed please. 5. Do I need a correspondence between myself and the doctor for application purposes or at POE? |

mumzt: Canada does not encourage birth tourism. Trying to get a Canadian visiting visa might be your best option. Even though getting a Canadian visiting visa after being denied the Canadian PR will be very, very hard. 1 Like |

Beautyaddy: I wasn't denied PR o. In the pool with very very low likelihood of being picked because of low scores due to age. Just wondering if the PR status affects visiting visa application. |

Sparkle1515: Hello @Sparkle1515, please can you assist with responses to the following questions? 1) When did you get your visa? 2) Did you state child birth alone, and not vacation and child birth or vacation and medical or medical only? 3) Were there extra considerations to your visa application for child birth i.e. a medical report/letter from your Gyn in Nigeria probably stating why you had to travel i.e. multiple births for more than 2 babies, high-risk pregnancy etc. Please share, apologies if you have already shared, a detailed account of your visa application from start to finish for the benefit of this thread. I had my first in the US and had a valid visa. So when I took in a second time I was ready to travel but on the second thought I wanted to spend a while in the country and decided to renew before traveling lo and behold I was denied. Fast forward to applying for a Canadian visa within a space of 2 months before it won't be safe to fly. We filled the form went to drop it off and ended up spending the whole day because of a lot of mistakes. To be clear we declared birth tourism, admitted to being rejected a visa for US and attached so many documents. Prayed and kept our fingers crossed while making arrangements that worst case baby would be born in Nigeria (after all I was born here). To our greatest surprise 20 days later got the email for pick up and visa was approved. The Search began. At this point we didn't have any information and the thread was not as informative as I wanted (yes I like eating my cake easily ). However we had family in Saskatchewan but when I heard the flight time,weather, no doctor was responding to my emails or calls, rejecting international patients and the family had so much going on in their life, I decided to look elsewhere. I visited a maternity service provider here and she sounded nice also showed me her package for Ontario which looked reasonable to me.the big huddle was getting my hubby to agree to which he had his skepticism. He did a lot of research called and emailed a lot of doctors in the Ontario area mind u unlike the US system where anyone can have access to gynecologists the case is different for the Canada system. You would need to get a referral from a family doctor after the first 3 months before a gynecologist would accept you. So we had that challenge however we were able to get 3 doctors to give a partial acceptance, send their bill via email but only one was willing to give an appointment date. Looking for accommodation became the next problem most homeowners didn't want a pregnant foreign woman without ties in their home and Airbnb we couldn't get any child friendly at a reasonable price. Fast forward to the night before our flight, I was able to get my husband partial consent to engage the service provider here. I paid her that night and got her agent's name and number. THE JOURNEY BEGAN. Left Nigeria had a 12 hour layover and got into Canada. Filled the landing card,used the automated machine and proceeded to the immigration officer. The conversation was as follows Me:Good evening. Officer:Good evening. Welcome to Canada. Can I have your passport. She went through and was like what are you in Canada for. Me: to give birth. She paused looked at me and typed something in her computer. Officer: looking at my landing card. She was like u have an excess of 10k canadia dollars in cash. Me:no some cash,most in cards. Officer: then you don't have an excess of 10k. Me: Sorry. Officer: Do you know that its very expensive giving birth here and do you have a doctor. Me: yes and I came financially prepared based on my research. I also have 3 doctors shortlisted and willing to accept me once am in the country . I would settle based on final cost reduction. Officer: types and handed over passport. Congratulations in advance (with a smile). Went to a hotel cooled off,slept,showered and ate. Moved into the accommodation arranged by the service provider (story for another day).Used a doctor in Toronto arranged by the service provider COST BREAKDOWN. Doctor :1320 Doctor visit: 30$ per visit(had a total of 5) Hospital mother: 2620(per day) Hospital baby:850(per day) To be paid in full before delivery day. Ended up having a CS so paid Doctor an extra 1250,anathestia 1000 ,spent 3 days in the hospital, pediatrician asked for 350(but ended up taking 100) Family doctor for referral (60). BABY DOCUMENTS Hmmmm Canada post was on strike so it was a mess. Took 15 plus days to get birth certificate and registration even with the expedited which cost 35$(excluding money spent to fax,call,email and Express mails). Passport was expedited also with proof of travel and cost 110$. Called the airline added baby to ticket and applied for Visa on arrival (NB: cash,Nigerian cards not accepted only accept foreign cards) thanks to hotstepper for the food and all the advise. 19 Likes 4 Shares |

Hotstepper: @hotstepper I have read through all the chats and thank you for being of such great help... please i noticed most of the Dr’s contacts i got from the earlier pages have either stoped recieveing cash payment or do not do CS. Im coming in January, really need your help with a doctor in Ontario that accepts cash and does CS as well, help with a two months accomodation will be much appreciated as well! GOOD DAY All, our experienced people and professionals, thank you for your wonderful contributions and assistance. God bless you all. My issue is a little peculiar. I have a few questions. I intend to apply for a visitor visa for me and my 13mth old in order to give birth in canada. I am currently four months pregnant. 1) I am presently working but my salary and bank balance is minimal so my hubby would be sponsoring this trip. Please apart from the sponsorship letter he would write for us does he have to get a letter of introduction from his office stating that he works with them presently or does his employment letter suffice? 2) he has just 5million in his account would this be Ok? My aunty would be writing an invitation letter to state that she would be responsible for feeding and accommodation. 3) for me, unfortunately I work with the civil service and for now I can't get a letter of introduction can I use just my employment letter. Also I didn't change my surname yet in the civil service so it carries my unmarried name. Would this affect me after I submit my marraige certificate? Which was after I got employment with the state govt. 4) i was in canada for my masters from 2012-2013 and I was also given a postgraduate work permit which I used for about 2yrs plus before I came to Nigeria for reasons beyond my control at d time.I had a clean record. People are a bit laid back to just check for information on this thread. They want everything to be provided for them. For myself, my wife gave birth in Calgary and every fee had been posted here a while ago so there isn't a need to repost such details. Also, my baby used emergency travel document to come back home and that cost 350 CAD in case anyone is interested in that. This journey to Canada isn't dynamic as America hence this thread not growing as it should but all the same people should be able to help out especially when you have benefitted from this thread. |
