"The Greatest Sales man in the world by Og Mandino"
It teaches the the philosophy of salesmanship. I will recommend it if you want to discipline yourself. I have both the e-copy and paperback.

2."Way of the tortoise"
Strongly recommended for traders of forex and crypt.ocurr.enc

Just finished reading second class citizen by Buchi Emecheta. (PDF) The fact that she suffered all through those because of her gender is frustrating. I felt rage while I was reading it, this is why I consciously avoids her book. The evil of patriarchy. #goodreads.

Headscarves and hymen by Mona Eltahawy (PDF) is my current read.. Hopefully this wouldn't leave me traumatized like the last read did.

Do anyone have the soft copy of head over water by buchi Emecheta? I have searched EVERYWHERE. Yet Nothing. Anyone?

I'm at page 223. Sefi writes brilliantly with an infectious wit, the detailed recount of Lagos in the 90s is impeccable. A courageous story about friendship, self discovery and women activism. This is the type of book, one reads slowly so it wouldn't end too quickly. cry

Season of crimson blossom is really really good.

Though I have a question
I noticed something a bit disturbing in the book about the lack of warmth between northern Muslim women and their first born child what is that about ?is it a culture thing? Google has no answer.

@calliope.i know you've read it.

So I have been very very busy reading and finishing:

Homo Deus: A Brief History of Tomorrow and 21 Lessons for the 21st Century, both by Yuval Harairi. I thoroughly enjoy his books and I think I’m going to read these again next year, if I have the time. They are less entertaining than Sapiens, but I suspect that this is because Sapiens was a discovery book that is more pronounced to my narrating self than it affected my experiencing self.

This Is Going to Hurt by Adam Kay. This is a very funny book, but it illuminates real issues. I think it’s good timing that I read this book when I did - I needed a pick me up and a diversion from the real world.

Dear Ijeawele... by Chimamanda Adichie. I’m reading this book again and it’s still very relevant and instructive. I still recommended it to anybody and everybody, especially people who are quick to judge feminism and Ms. Adichie.

I’m not sure what I’m going to read next. I really want to read fiction but I am afraid that I have outgrown that genre. Going through my book stash, Carl Zimmer’s She Has Her Mother’s Laugh just jumped at me and I am trying (and failing) to ignore the book.

It seemed like a cultural thing that was pronounced more heavily than it is in the contemporary society by the author to give effect to the story he was telling. I remember highlighting that part whilst reading the book, with hopes of asking the author about it; unfortunately I forgot all about it when I got to the end and was overtaken by the wave of emotions I felt at that point.

Thanks!!!

I read homo deus.
I left with this last feeling that the author is almost too eager for the automation/algorithm rebellion that will happen soon enough.

Yuval tends to sound very excited, and that’s part of the reason why I love reading his works.

I think he comes off as if he’s anticipating such a rebellion because he is convinced that it is already happening, and doesn’t have a stance against the movement.

It’s almost like listening to Adichie talk about feminism. Lol
