GB2G:
Reserve depletion is slowing. Inference could be that 1. outflow is slowing/reducing
2. inflow is increasing gradually, just an observation.

Fitch just gave an upgrade.

Check for the nigeria reserve scenario below.
https://www.cbn.gov.ng/intops/Reserve.asp

Other inputs are welcomed
You are correct. The fall in external reserves slowed down in this month of November compared to October and September.
But we need to see signs of increase.
I believe we will see some stability by December, we election spendings in dollars and xmas foreign currency influx.

As big as you are, your account officer should be worshipping you. You don't necessarily have to be around to do some certain things, that's one of the benefits of being a big man like you. Get your money to work for you!

Your being outside the country can't be a hindrance..
Well said Mendes.

few members here av been worried about devaluation . I pray it doesn't happen...i really pray.
To be honest with you, devaluation will likely happen if Brent continues its southward movement. The good news is that, it will not happen before election as that will be used against APC. I hope I go don jaaaa from NSE before it happens. Otherwise, I will look at the risk rewards ratio of NSE capital appreciation against % loss in capital due to devaluation.
Personally, I don't expect up to 50% devaluation but I expect 50% capital appreciation in stocks. This is the reason I might remain in NSE till the next bull on or before end of March /April 2019.

I believe u're a newbie. I also feel u lack basic understanding on the criteria's to look out for that would guide your selection on stocks to invest.

The stock market is a very dangerous place to invest ur hard earned money especially if u don't know how it works cos u may end up losing everything.

But if you take your time to study books about the stock market, acquire enough knowledge and allow this knowledge to guide you, you are sure to succeed as you gain experience. I have been in the stock market for close to a decade yet I'm still learning.

For a start, i will recommend this book for you: "How to make money in stock" by William J O'Neil. It happens to be one of my favorite books on stock market. Simple and easy to understand yet very effective.

Search it on Google and its free to download. I wish you the best.
Newbie not really,I have been trading since 11 years but not buying and selling...Just investing on long term basis.
I lost badly on Daar com and Inter continental bank. Gtb has been doing good and Fbnh on and off and some other ones.Just have some cash right now and im thinking of what to do with it lol

I have been off the game for a while because of my current location,Hence the reason why im here seeking advices..Thanks for the recommendation I will read the book and heed to your advice.

On the contrary, stocks generally will go up should devaluation happen. That's when the foreign got guys will rush back to Naija. Only companies that have foreign currency dominated loans will hear gbanghan at their YE.

The problem lies on what happens before the devaluation!

how does one save money in foreign currency and escape the excessive charges.....I ask this as i am about to sell a bike i bought 4 years ago for more than 150% the amount I bought it, after reminising, i think it is futile to save or invest in naira as your base currency......Naira is just not a good store of value, I still earn the same salary as i did 4 years ago but i am fucking poorer.......Its so bad that when i checked my Retirement savings account, my balance 4 years ago is greater than the amount there now if we convert the money to dollars @ the exchange rates of 2013 and 2018.....................Please help me out huhhuhhuhhuh??
I don't see why your retirement savings account balance now should be lower than four years ago. Is it denominated in naira? Unless your company stopped remitting monthly four years ago. That's the only plausible explanation. Nevertheless, the interest on the accounts have reduced significantly compared to what was obtainable previously. But that doesn't mean the balance should reduce unless you withdraw from the account.

He added a caveat - "If we convert the money to dollars"..... He's trying to explain what a fluctuating currency can do to savings.

As big as you are, your account officer should be worshipping you. You don't necessarily have to be around to do some certain things, that's one of the benefits of being a big man like you. Get your money to work for you!

I know of a bank that once opened a current account for one politician, customised the account, printed cheque books, etc and then went to pay the man a visit. Informs the man that they noticed that he doesn't have an account with them and that all he needs to do is to sign the "signature sample form" and return to them, and the account becomes active.

Your being outside the country can't be a hindrance.

Also note that devaluation is not certain but the signs are heavily there and the odds that it will happen is on the increase.
I get ur point..I WILL TRY MY POSSIBLE BEST... May GOD BLESS YOU ... i will just miss the millions of interest on T.Bill ...
May GOD BLESS YOU

Bros,

Don't rush any decision Ooooh. Cool down and evaluate all and take a decision yourself. Nobody here has any insider gist on when this will happen. Am yet to buy any USD myself, I only cleared all USD credits that I was exposed to!

When I tell people to hedge with cryptocurrencies, many look at me like I am mad or saying rubbish.

I agree cryptocurrencies are volatile, but anything that has a chance of fighting inflation is worth looking at.

Hedge your investments. Don't diversify because others are, diversify strategically in such a way that you have higher buying power. That is the key point. Many people think more naira is the same as buying power, but they are 2 different things. The moment people can calm down and understand this perspective, things will get better for them.
