The assassination was carried out in the open and outside the home of chief Barnabas igwe. Witnesses saw the gruesome murder and came forward to declare all they saw when investigation were ongoing.

The national dailies published these eye witness accounts and I read it at that time and the imagery which I thought had left me all these years just returned afresh as I saw his name in the OP.
