Depends on her birth weight and u and hubby size...
My baby is EBF and weighed 4.8kg at 7wks. And at that time anybody that carried us usually says we have weight....
Hope that helps

Thanks a lot for d responsemama. To say there's bn an increase in her weight since birth means we r making progress. My mum just always talk abt weight like thats the thing that matters.

Ha! The weather is extremely hot across Nigeria these days na....

Maybe they just need to keep him cooler and wear cotton onesies

But no harm in a hospital trip what do I know sef grin

For me maami, I'd rather be on the side of overreacting than not acting fast enough.
The weather is hot but is it hot enough for a newborn to sweat to that extent?
I had to go through a mother's post here to dig that info out and that's the same complaint she laid and that was the diagnosis at the hospital despite the fact that there was no coughing involved.
I believe she would have reduced the number of layers cos she herself mentioned it here.
But that's for me anyways, I am that person that goes to hospitals if more than 3 boils appear or if cradle cap keeps spreading, I don't practice my home remedies for more than 3 days if I don't see changes.

I'd rather be called an alarmist sha.

Lol Zaynie is still enjoying omugwuo AC cheesy. These days as soon as the gen goes off, I'd wake up cuz it feels like I'm going to burn. And I always have to take off GB's clothes cuz it would be damp.

LOL, omugwo AC kor.
That's at night right? Not in the day and not the clothes getting drenched in minutes.
Imagine how many litres of water the baby is losing taking his weight into consideration.
The baby is an October baby ó.

Me, I will still ask @ jumy16 did you take BCG for your baby same day he was born?

Thank you for your response Zaynie.

Update: She appears to have caught it and its more obvious on her face. I got calamine lotion for the both of them. Is there any other supporting drug to add? The Paed in the hospital we use only comes on selected days of the week

I don't know for sure.
I have only ever treated chickenpox

We are in same shoe kinda.. Though I brought a Nanny for mine. So the Nanny feeds her with expressed breast milk and sometimes formula, she is already getting used to it now, it wasn't easy at first ooo she kept rejecting it. What I would advice is to get someone else to feed your baby, maybe hubby or family friend cos it will be difficult to accept that from you when he knows he can get breast milk from the source till now I can't bottle feed my baby she won't accept but someone else can do that. You can try my suggestion so he gets used to it before you resume work.

pateffy:
Good evening mothers please I need your encouragement and advice i will be resuming work last week of this month my baby will be starting creche in a week from now have been doing breast feeding and water for the past two months and just started giving him Nan last week and he struggles to collect it
Some people are of the opinion that when he starts creche he will take the Nan if he doesn't see me mommas how true is this and what else can I do to make him eat fine I do not want him to loose weight when he starts going to the creche.

Please do not waka pass
Chook mouth and help me.

search colic on this thread for remedies, I personally don't believe in drugs for colic and my baby's own stopped eventually. It's normal especially for boys

Good evening mamas, this is my first post here and I’m a ftm. Please I need your help, my baby is 5days old and I have been cleaning her cord with spirit and cotton wool from when she was born, the cord is already drying up but I just noticed it’s producing a foul odour, is it supposed to smell while drying out? I clean it morning and night after bathing her.

Evening,

I don't think the foul odour is right but just to comment. You are supposed to clean it as often as possible, eg, you can clean it at each diaper change. Also pls dont let tthe diaper rest on it. The cord/navel needs to breath.

If the above are fine pls check with the Dr. Else adjust for a day, if no difference pls see the Dr. That navel thing is very delicate and we need to prevent infection.

Mamas with more experience would give their responses.

Kisses to baby
