oh dear, I can relate with how u and ur dh feel. paracetamol is ok. Ur baby is fine don't worry. I remember when my son fell face down at 3months i couldn't eat all through that day and for the next 1week each time I remembered the fall i will just scream and cry. Dh was very upset .
But one thing I have come to know is that the angels of babies are always alert to support and protect them when they fall.

Evening,

I don't think the foul odour is right but just to comment. You are supposed to clean it as often as possible, eg, you can clean it at each diaper change. Also pls dont let tthe diaper rest on it. The cord/navel needs to breath.

If the above are fine pls check with the Dr. Else adjust for a day, if no difference pls see the Dr. That navel thing is very delicate and we need to prevent infection.

Mamas with more experience would give their responses.

Kisses to baby
Thanks for your response, I spoke to her pediatrician and he said I should start cleaning it every two hours that the odour will stop but if it continues, I should come in for examination. He also said I should let him know if I notice any sign of fever. I cleaned it all night and I noticed the odour reduced.

Its just that day but I used Robb to massage his face and that was it. pls dont worry to much she is fine. provided there is no bruise and no place is swollen. They will still fall plenty times, God help us to be extra careful.

How did it come back again in 2 weeks? Does he go to Creche? Take him to the hospital and insist they run tests for malaria and infection.
You can put a drop of silver bird in hot water and do steam inhalation for him. I don't think you're supposed to put the oil in his bath water. You can also put some drops on his bedspread. Take care

Get olbas oil, its more effective than silverbird .
1. Give him oranges to suck or extract the juice and give him. Natural , real orange juice not pre-packaged chemical.

2. Stop adding silverbird to his bath water. You can use it to do stem inhalation, drop on his bibs dont put it directly on his body or nose. Again, olbas oil is more efficient.

3. Get nasal drop. Gently drop in his nose, give him a moment and it will soften the mucous in his air passage ( if truly theres any) then you can suck out.

4. Stop putting him to fan and dust. Air out his room and your whole house.

5. If no imptovement after 3 days, go back to the hospital and run tests

6. Is he teething ? Hope no fever btw? If theres fever, please disregard A-Z, go to the hospital straight.

Good morning mamas in the house. Please my son who will be 3 months old on Thur has umbilical hernia (protruding/big navel). It became noticable since he was 2 weeks old, but recently, I noticed that it make this rumbling sound every night which makes him uncomfortable. I've searched Google and read that this is normal so long as it's not hard when pushed in. I'm just concerned about the discomfort and sleepless nights. Please is there anything I can do to ease the discomfort?

Wow.
You might want to go to the hospital.
I think I read here or so that too much sweating could be an underlying symptom of something.

Try and massage her with warm water in the evening, alternatively massage her whole body with coconut oil
And pls let her sleep close to the wall if your bed is close to the wall

Good day mummys in the house. Pls my baby is five wks and he has cough and catarrh. I'm using Evans septrin for him but he still have difficulty in breathing. A friend recommends ampiclox drops. Pls I don't know if I should combine the two or give only ampiclox. Meanwhile I say kudos to the op, its quite educating
My baby of 4wks is also battling with catarrh I took her to the hospital nd the doctor prescribed piriton but there is still no improvement and she has not been sucking well I really do not know what to do

How is his breathing like? Is it noisy, that you can see his neck and skin between the ribs been sucked in. If yes, it might not be catarrh see a paed an experienced one "consultant" to diagnose what might be wrong. Or better still help yourself google "laryngomalacia". Hope this helps.
