China is in a recession. No, not in terms of official statistics, which some have been dubious about, but in terms of how much the economy is suffering on the ground. It hasn't escaped anyone's notice that the economy is in trouble, despite the fact that the government reported a 6.5% growth rate in the third quarter of this year. There are several important indications of China's economic pain, including trouble in the stock market, retail sales, and industrial production.

The stock market has been taking a beating lately. Retail sales took a dip in 2018. Average retail sales month on month growth has been lower in 2018 than in a decade.

Industrial production growth has been flat since 2015, diverging from a trend starting in the 1990s in which production had somewhat more highs and lows. It appears to meet a minimum level that it doesn't dip beneath, perhaps for policy reasons. Fixed asset investment reached an all-time low in August 2018. Even though much of China is still under construction, it is at a far slower pace than in the past couple of decades.

The downturn has been obfuscated by economic stimulus, which has striven to make up for demand shortfalls through government spending.

Is there a law or NSE regulation banning disclosure of the identity of parties who made such huge share purchases as the 600m shares of Zenith bank? I believe it will help retail investors to know who is buying and selling.

In US market, there is website that reveal Insiders dealing n trading.. High time we have that in NSE

U. Dozie is indeed in need of survival.
Where would the cash come from?
Should he floats a public offer? Dt would be a dead idea before arrival
Should he bury his ego and merge with access or Ecobank?
Should he accept the fate of sky bank? Dt would be suicidal for the family
The only way out is for the bank to trade the 23.1 billion shares on the platform of NSE targeting the minority investors,(THE CASH COWS OF NSE)
ANY NEW ENTRANT SHOULD BE CAUTIOUS OF trading in diamond equities. The bank has no FA nor TA in the past few years. What we are seeing is a bank that is financially distressed due to gross mismanagement and poor executives decision. The dozies wanted to own the bank 98% , this has backfired on them.
The fundamental reason for shares investment is dividend yields and Dozie was unable to fulfill this in the past years due to high debts and gross losses
The easiest way out is targeting the cash cows.
I will not be surprised, if the share rises to N1 and zig zag to 0.5. The chart will be showing a raised middle finger pointing Northward with depressed fingers and after few days or week, the middle finger becomes depressed with other fingers pointing in opposite direction. This is the typical charts for detecting insiders trading.

After reading dz, I became scare of my analysis. I haven't visited Nigeria in the last 4 years but very conversant with investment news and have been following the story of diamond Bank since September 2017.I was one of the few people to place diamond Bank on caveat emptor.
When it was trading at sub N3. 00 I had raised an objection but some people thought we were discouraging them. Now the breeze has blown on Uzoma Dozie....
Bail out ASAP... I had mentioned it b4, should access bank take over diamond, your 10000 units of diamond will be reduced to 250 units at the value of 250 to 1
Mark my word.
They did it to me after The greatest scammer in the hx of Nigeria Banks , Erastus Akingbola ceeded the defunct intercontinental bank to CBN.. dt was then when asset has value, now that Technology has significantly reduced bank assets, you can imagine what would happen to the optimistic shareholders of deadmond Bank....
