Hello guys,
Please while filling the DS-160 form, the travel information section, the part about 'person/entity paying for your trip', is that like asking who's your sponsor?

It's going to be almost the same questions as MSC or PhD, why the course, what it'll do for you? Why not Nigeria? Can you afford it(with an SOA) that shows you can... Post your first interview transcript let's see what went wrong the first time

Thanks for your responds, first interview was really shot. Althoug i was tense and shaken but here is it.

Vo = hi good morning, me =good morning, pass me your passport and 120, i did, immediately she asked, why did u chose Idaho, i chose Isu because its a good in area of health and labouratory research, also i got a tuition waiver which make it easy for me, why did u chose mcb= its a known fact that the health sector in Nigeria is a very competitive on having this degree will place me in a better competitive position with others in the field most expecially multinational pharmaceutical companies

I am abit worried with regards my application.

The gras cord of program I applied to confirmed that decision will be out 28th November. Semester starts 7th January. Do you guys think I'd be able to make this resumption date?

Received a mail from Illinois Tech that they were granting application free waivers to those who apply before Dec 15th. Don't know if this applies to only those that received the mail tho but it's worth checking out. Great school.

Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 14 by fairheart(m): 12:41pm On Nov 24, 2018
The questions are generally the same.:

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS SCHOOL?
HOW DID YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS SCHOOL?
HOW MANY SCHOOLS DID YOU APPLY TO?
HOW MANY OFFERED ADMISSION?
DID YOU WRITE ANY STANDARDIZE EXAM?
HOW DID YOU GET THIS SCHOLARSHIP?
TELL ME ABOUT THIS PROGRAM?
WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING SINCE YOU FINISH HIGH SCHOOL?
WHO IS YOUR SPONSOR?
WHAT DOES HE/SHE DO?

Now, some of these questions always pop up during the interview. Depends on the consular, you may only be asked 3-5 questions. However, prepare for each question. It is simple: spread your seed left and right, front and back, for you know not which one will sprout and grow tomorrow. Prepare a tailored, personal response based on your career and academic goals, etc. No do copy copy o. Goodluck.

Why are the VOs suddenly about the tuition? There shouldn't be a problem if the student can afford it

The percentage of fake bank statements of late could have added to it.

Evening peeps. Please is there any remedy to this. While filling the DS-160 application, instead of indicating OTHER(brother) as the person sponsoring my trip, I went ahead to fill in SELF.
Opinions please. Thanks.

No. You cannot. Your ds160 location must match appointment location

If you’re yet to submit the DS 160, under the location section of your form, you can change the location to Abuja Nigeria there or better still fill a new form if you have submitted the form and you wish to interview in Abuja.

You should be able to make it if you get accepted. Your biggest challenge will be getting an interview date at the Embassy, but you should be able secure one by using expedited appointment.

I'm compelled to respond to this:

First part sounds generic, second part not pointed enough

Was your second chance for an impressive answer to the VO, but your answer came out 90% generic (to me). It's a strong point no doubt, but how does it affect you directly??

Was the part in bold necessary? - I don't think so. The experienced ones here should say a thing about this observation of mine...

Switching schools cannot be an issue.
I'm sad for this. Don't give up!
Been away lately. I concur with you.

I think applicants refused in the last six months are not privileged to do that? I saw such on their website
I understand that that rule strictly aplies to B1B2 and maybe any other class of visa EXCEPT F1.

Hello gurus in the house,
Please can I still use statement of Account printed 2nd October for interview purpose in December.
I want to know if it is recent enough to be presented to the VO
From a technical standpoint, you can. But I'll advice you get a more recent statement, if possible.

On the contrary, it applies to F1 as well bro. I read it in the last paragraph of the emergency appointment page. Then, I ignored it and applied for the expedited appointment but in less than 1 hour, the application was rejected. grin
