and what makes you believe the wingers we have in the team are better than ojo? what makes you believe he is not good enough to fight for a chance in the team?

He can definitely fight for a shirt. No one is against the chance but we are spoilt for choice on the wings so that chance must be on merit. Where we need competition is for attacking midfield, central midfield and goalkeeper.

and so what about that? wont it better if the team has a large pool of players to pick from if injuries creeps in or as well add competition for places in the team? ojo is 21, have good number of games under his belt in the English championship, played few matches for liverpool's first team in the epl with cup games and is currently seeing playing time in the french ligue 1 so he deserves a chance. we are not Brazil nor France of this world so we have to accommodate as many players as we can. what of if ojo metamorphoses into a star player tomorrow? you guys will be d same to cry foul here of how he was ignored we he opted to play for us

In terms of those wingers we have we are brazil in the eyes of ojo, because am not sure he his better than those wingers.

I will say once again Olympic is near.

Omeruo is good but lacks pace, they say he neutralised Griezmann against Atlethico but failed to cope with Percy Tau's pace.

The difference b/w Balogun and Omeruo is that Balogun covers up his lack of pace with excellent positioning and intelligence coupled with his superb ability to read the game.

For those who say Rohr is not aware Iheanacho is regressing

Iheanacho don’t trust himself – Rohr

Coach of the Super Eagles Gernot Rohr has traced Kelechi Iheanacho’s current form in the national team to his problems at the club level. Nigeria’s national football team coach from Germany Gernot Rohr Bafana v Eagles: It’s revenge time — Ighalo The Franco-German tactician has said he was in constant touch with Leicester City’s technical set-up and they always shared ideas particularly on their Nigerian contingent of Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho. “We have all seen how Iheanacho has been playing for the national team. He is a good player and his fighting spirit is second to none. But of late, his form has dropped. So also is his self confidence, which is very low. And when you lack self confidence you cannot score goals. He missed what would have been our first goal in South Africa. But I believe it is a temporary set back. He will overcome and bounce back because he is a very good player. Rohr praised Iheanacho’s teammate, Ndidi in these words, “He is doing very well. His club were happy that he did not have to come for the last matches because he is an asset to them.”

Exclusive – Super Eagles Captain Mikel Ponders Quitting International Football Unless…. The captain of the senior national team of Nigeria John Obi Mikel is currently in Nigeria with his family as part of his end of season break after the conclusion of the league in China. Mikel watched from the sidelines as his team Tianjin Teda survived the drop to the second division in China, no thanks to the injury which has also prevented him from representing Nigeria since their elimination at the group stages of the World Cup in Russia. Nigeria powered their way through the qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations without their influential captain and seal their spot at next year tournament with a game to spare just like they did during the qualifiers for the World Cup. For now unless Mikel secures a move away from China to a team in Europe, there’s every tendency of him quitting the Nigerian team before the start of the tournament in Cameroon next year, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal. The distance he normally covers to honour international call ups have had it’s tool on him and the spate of injuries he has battled the past three months is down to fatigue. Furthermore he want to be close to his family as his twin daughters are already schooling in the United Kingdom. Although he still has a year to run on his deal with Tianjin Teda, he has a verbal agreement with the club that he will be allowed to leave when an offer from a team in Europe offer him a deal.

Rohr tells Ighalo to leave China:

Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, has asked Odion Ighalo to leave China.

Rohr will be delighted to see Ighalo play in a topflight football league division next season, after his Chinese Super League team, Changchun Yatai suffered relegation, at the end of the just concluded season.

The striker finished the Chinese Super League season on a high, scoring 21 goals in 28 games, but it was not enough to save Changchun Yatai from relegation.

Rohr, who was guest at a breakfast media parley with Nigerian sports editors on Friday in Lagos, noted that his top marksman will not be short of suitors when the January transfer window reopens.

“I called him (Ighalo) up at the World Cup after I read what was written about him in the social media. He came on at halftime against Argentina because Kelechi Iheanacho was not so good.

“He did well but missed a chance. There was not a good reaction from the fans who were not happy.

“I think it was not his mistake that we were eliminated. Of course, there were other problems which we spoke about them. Everybody is happy now that Ighalo is scoring well again.

“Now he’s in the second division, what will happen? I hope he returns to a top division club. He finished as the second top scorer in the Chinese Super League, so I think he will have offers to move to the top flight division.

“He (Ighalo) told me a few days ago that his injury now allows him to run which is already good and he will let me know if he wants to change club. His club (Changchun Yatai) wants, him but I think it is better for us and for him to play in the top division or return to Europe.

“When you score goals for your team you will get offers,” Rohr said.

Onyekuru is a good player.

Rohr does not rate the Belgian,Austrian and Turkish leagues.

Emem Eduok even have more goals to his name in the Turkish league than Onyekuru. He(Emem Eduok) is rated as the 5th highest goal scorer in turkey.

Kalu didn't receive any call-up while playing for Gent till he joined Bordeaux.

But in his never ending wisdom he rates Bundesliga academy youth players and B team players in Portugal.

Mbaye Diagne top goal scorer in the Turkish league is in negotiations with Wolves in the EPL. Everton bought a striker for near £30 million from Turkish league.

If indeed what you are saying about Rohr has any iota of truth. Then can I say he lacks wisdom.

My continous proposition that I keep saying repeatedly is. If you are in a club in a lower league. But you are outstanding and the top performer then you should be considered.

I would rather have a Lion in a lower league than a mouse in a top league.

We need more competition.

Omeruo has not improved remained consistent at one level.

I see Ekong improving not that impressed with Ajayi he is not one of the top performers in the Championship, but he ok.

Not sure how he leep-frogged Dominic Iorfa to get into SE only Rohr can explain that. What went on behind the scenes.

I do think thier is an undeniable trend in the NFF, unexplainable to me, l could presume. That former youth international get given preference irrespective of thier club and league performance.

Stop trying to bring a player down okay

You denied it before but your words here says it all

Someone came from Villarreal academy and he is making the first team because he worked hard ,why are you trying to use it to dis another player because he plays for the Turkish league ?

Even if you hate a player try to be sincere okay .

Chukwueze is yet to play 20 career games ,please give him a break okay.

Stating facts is not bringing a player down.

Actually he has played 2 games in La Liga and barely 5 cup games. So maybe 7 first team games in his entire career.

My yardstick is always the league games because teams can give any player cup games not League games.

Considering how few games he has played is it not way too premature for him to be in the SE. We did the same with Nwakali and Osimhen.

How well they performed is totally IRRELEVANT, it is effectively denying far more deserving players OPPORTUNITY.

And given opportunity they may well do much better than all these rookies.

We have a player who is the 5th highest goal scorer in Turkish league not invited yet we can invite players from Isreal.

We have Josh Maja at 19 being courted by multiple EPL clubs and the same follows for Ebere Eze, and we invite a boy who has played two league games. Both players having played near three seasons of first team football.

Something is going on here, not sure what it is but it doesn't seem we are looking for the best we can get.

Or is thier a fear that some of these players may displace the favoured players by some in the NFF. I simply dont know.

But what's clear the system of selection is not based on measured consistent performance.

And if you have to respond can you be civil please abusive and caustic rhetoric doesn't promote intelligence.
