I hope you know that Fabregas was not in the academy for upto two months before breaking into the first team. I do not think we can categorise that as academy football. He was ready but needed to learn the language and adapt to his new surroundings.
I'm curious, from Sowore to fela now back to Sowore

the few exceptional ones out of over a thousand, also mind you they left at a very young age for europe. the super eagles is the apex team of the nation and will only accommodate the best we have. your home lads needs to prove that they are miles better than their foreign born or europe based counterparts before they will get a proper chance in the team.

I'm curious, from Sowore to fela now back to Sowore

That is why I said my conscience was pricking me because Sowore sparked the fire in me to support a candidate out of the circle. So I started with the Sowore movement. With time, I had a sentimental swing to Fela Durotoye due to my belief in his movement about six to seven years ago when I used to follow his morning programme on Silverbird television. I always believed Fela Durotoye will one day be the President of Nigeria. So due to my old belief, I shifted my support to Durotoye.

Listening and following Sowore lately, I noticed my support for Fela Durotoye was out of sentiments and self fulfilment. That is, my belief coming true. But Sowore brought the passion and has been on the front line fighting for the country.

So I decided to do what I feel was right. Shift my support back to the person I believe truly deserves the crown. It is a long shot but a right move.

See Mr Charles, you seem to always get what I'm passing across wrongly everytime you get to quote me. And you even insult me and call me names which I won't find funny henceforth. See if you have issues understanding how and what i post, simply desist or better still, ask, clarify, instead of jumping ahead of your hurdle space. I won't take it lightly next time. I always look like someone that wants the downfall of the SE to you perhaps. But you'd need goggles to know and see better.

I'd like you to point out my sentiments!!

Every Nigerian irrespective of where they are born have a right to try for the national team, whether FB or HB. That said based in your comments, it seems that you have a bias against the HB why do the HB have to prove that they are miles better than the FB? So if the HB and FB are at par, they shouldn't be considered?
I juse finished watching highlights of the 2008 Beijing olympics, nig vs Belgium and I saw a certain HB Okonkwo play excellently and scored two great goals!!!!!
My point is let the HB not be considered inferior, if given an opportunity, they may actually turn out to be the new Musa, Finidi, Kpakpor. Oruma, Odey, Shehu, Etebo, Taye Taiwo etc. I mentioned Finidi cos when he made the national team there were many foreign based players who could have made the team.

my own grouse here is that they keep throwing Ahmed Musa and about three other random players as products of NPFL.

Some of them cannot even truly be said to be NPFL products, because they may have spent a year or so of their youth in NPFL and gone to foreign leagues after. So, can they really be said to be NPFL products? Did they learn to play football from NPFL? How? Was it through the non-existent academies? We all know that it is pure talent that moved those guys, it is not because NPFL has ever taught a soul any technique to help their football playing skills.

Even more, if you ask for recent successes from the NPFL, you get silence. In the last five years, how many NPFL players have become a mainstay in the Super Eagles?

Is it for lack of trying?

All the NPFL players Keshi's tried to infuse in the National team, hoe many stood the test of time? Most of them flattered to deceive.

If our starting XI in the next AFCON are all foreign born, no problem. How many Moroccan players are even from their league? Is the NPFL half as decent as the Moroccan league? Why must we get players from a league that has proven to be a sham over and over again

I have not seen anyone bring up the recent nonsense that was perpetuated in that farmers league. Can team NPFL tell us why league winners were declared without the league coming to an end? How can the remaining games in a season be cancelled and winners declared based on standings? Can you trust a product of such cut and join league? What about the plan to insert 8 NNL teams into the NPFL without following due process? They just want to do tumbo-tumbo and throw in whatever 8 teams one Oga at the top fancies to compete in the NPFL. Tomorrow, someone will say we should get players from a magomago league.

Pinnick and Co need to declare a State of Emergency in the NPFL and fix it up, only when it starts operating like a proper league, is when it's products can really be considered.
