Sister, inaction is “Peak”. It is in so many of us here.

We missed a vital window of action, I find no fault with the deceiver(s), its the people that went through the four walls of a higher institute and allowed themselves to used (to orchestrate and perfect their own downfall) I shake my head for.

As for me, I would see this to the very end: when DPR finishes playing their hand. Then I shall play my final hand, even if its for generations unborn.

My question is to whoever is reading this is “ Will you take action at all? what are you going to do about this? ” smiley

I have always been optimistic about this second batch conundrum but lately, the people I talked with regarding this recruitment seem to go contrary to my optimism. Very highly placed personalities (both within and outside DPR) have been interviewed and they all say the second batch idea is a mirage. Now I just don't know whom to believe again.

i never wanted to comment on your foolishness but this post caught my attention, all that you are and will ever be is a foolish bigot. hausa/fulanis, igbos, yorubas that performed exceptionally well in this recruitment but were denied their right are all being cheated in this recruitment, no ethnic group is being favoured ahead of the other, all it takes is for a strong stakeholder to stand for you and voila you are a dpr staff. all politicians care about is their own selfish intrest, they all sit down wine and dine together and share our common wealth yet you are here with your usual hate speeches. kwantinuu

I keep wondering how at this age, educated southerners still believe in anything call federal character. Do you really know what that means at all? And those foolish northerners insulting me, you seem to be the most useless of your people that is why you can't have a headway in this recruitment.
A glimpse of what federal character means in Nigeria can be seen on the number of senators and house of rep of each region. Then multiply each senator/house of rep by like 5slots each. You can now see the number of slot the whole north will be smiling home with compared to the south . (this is the official federal character sharing) before you can talk of slots for those who has held this country to ransom, we'll we know most comes from the north .
If you refuse to believe this basic hypocritical sharing formula for this country, then you are among the primary problems of this country

let me just be brief with my experience. I once wrote NLNG scholarship exam i was told outrightly by a staff of NLNG that if i were to be a northerner it would have been easy for me because there cut off mark is lesser compared to other regions (which shouldn't be so)

This might not be the case in this dpr situation but i can boldly tell you that northerners stand a greater chance in getting any federal appointment. I believe you are a Nigeria you should get my point i'm not also saying other regions don't stand a chance but all I'm saying is that they "the northerners" are always ahead believe it or not

You are going Far. Do you know about the Federal govt scholarship board requirements to study in those countries with foreign govt agreement like Russia etc? The requirements for South they burst brain. About 7A1 in waec to start with, the exam cut of nkọ? Na die. Almost closing the whole question. But the north? I saw someone with about 4Cs in her waec that got the scholarship to Russia. You can imagine. Well, I think we all have to be aware of the injustice in this country because we have allowed ourselves to be deceived for far too long. I know my score and that of those northerners that was given, and I believe I deserved it than them

What hatred do you speak of biko? I dont get. As far as Federal Character is concerned, and how the north tends to benefit more from it - then this is pure facts.

you are looking at things in a myopic view.. Federal character benefits everyone.. Look beyond employment to political offices nd political Appointments.. If not for federal character, some regions wont be part of govt they didn't help elect

Let's even talk about political offices and appointments and keep employment to the side. Going by the lope-sided and nepotism-laden government of Buhari as regards dishing out 'key' political appointments, then you have absolutely nothing to say about how Federal Character benefits everyone. Don't contradict yourself.

Going back to employment. As long as its a Federal Government recruitment, the Federal Character system favours you northerners, whether you sabi book or not. Let me take you back in history, take the military for example...have you ever asked yourself why its Hausa people and northerners that are the most populous extraction in the army? Okay good.

And yes, I wont mince words to say when it comes to cut-off marks for any form of recruitment, the scores are lowered to favour the north. This is a fact and I stand by it. Sorry, not sorry.

You said key appointments, in any system of govt, key appointments goes to those that help in what ever way to form the govt... If not for federal character most of the Southerners getting admissions in northern Institutions wont be admitted.

It is true that key appointments should go to those who helped you win an election, but when the President (for example, Buhari) assumes other parts like the South-West didn't play a role but still neglects them and gives strategic appointments to his Hausa brothers, then there is a problem.

Secondly, we are talking recruitment and not university admissions. Statistics will tell you that there are more southerners in northern institutions than there are more northerners in southern institutions and i want to believe you know the reason why. I wont be the person to elaborate on this.

I also like how you circumvented the hausa/army part as related to Federal Character.
Re: Department Of Petroleum Resources - 2016 Graduate Trainee &experienced Hire Job by bappahman: 9:22pm On Nov 29, 2018
All states got the same number of slots except for South South states and Ondo that got 3-5 additional slots.. So all those shouting hausas full the list are those that hate to see anyone but there tribesmen get anything.

Let me correct a misconception here, bros. In contemporary times, in the military, equal number of candidates are selected from all states. If you're talking of favouritism and godfatherism in the service, I won't argue with you. If any states are over represented, it is usually not by more than one person.
If you attribute the number of "Hausa speaking" people to the fact that NE NW and NC central mostly understand the Hausa language, I'd agree with you. But saying SELECTION into the military is lopsided is far fetched.
I'm speaking for the military alone o! Any other MDAs, I don't know.

In other MDAs, anything goes. Especially when everything is discreet.

In the just concluded NPA recruitment, wonders happened. I'm not going to tear down any ethnic group(s), neither would I support what isn't right, whether it favours me or not. Nigeria is a very wonderful country, and we're all at fault, whether from the North, South, East or West. It's just turn by turn, and some people know how to do it better than some others.

In the military, speaking of the NDA, names are published on national dailies, so it would be almost impossible to jagger-jagger it.

Yes, the term northern/Hausa in my context covers the three northern geo-political zones. Just the way there are infractions in recruitment which favours the north, there are infractions in enrolments into the army to favour them also. Just like you alluded to 'it is usually not by more than one person', but actually in some cases, it is more. I have a vantage experience.

Again, selection into the army has been lopsided from time immemorial and that was the point I was trying to make. Sir Ahmadu Bello orchestrated the intakes of more northerners into the army than any other part of Nigeria, even before the break out of the two 1966 coups. Check, its a well known fact that several books carry. So, no be today this whole thing start.

federal charachter is all about representation, you bring the best from your state i bring the best from my state, how does this favour one region or state ahead of its counterpart? some guys believe once you are a northerner or a hausa you are automatically a dullard, if that is not hatred then tell me what it is.

I will humbly advice that you guys should open a new thread and title it "Bigotry and Ethnic Jingoism in Nigeria" and allow us to wail over our DPR matters. Stopping by on this thread every hour of the day without getting any meaningful update is frustrating let alone seeing all these your hate-filled and inciting arguments here. You guys can do better than this please.

UPDATE;

The appointment processes are still on going (100% sure).

The date of APL distribution is unknown & highly discrete to staffs, controllers & even directors.

We're privilege to get these info cuz we're not staff. Some employee are deff & dump on this 2nd batch issues, they don't know what you & I knows.

At this point, It's unhealthy to send your details to some 1 you are not sure of, to check your status. Harmless advice so be guided.

The list will take people by surprise.

Look at this scenario, we all thought FIRS had rounded up their recruitment only for them to release a list of newly employed staff of 300 just Wednesday last week to resume work on monday.

All you need do right now is to be prayerful n keep reminding your sponsor.

Good luck to you.
