I got so much info from this thread n thought it would be nice to share my news. Picked up mine n wife’s pass on Monday with Visa on it. I observed there has been few update since n I guess it’s as a result of the visa denial.

Well just to light up the room. It was a short stay tourist visa. Thanks to everyone who has been commenting as their reply gave me more ideas as to go for mine...

I don’t think this much was needed, but had to submit all these as I don’t have plan b for our anniversary this year.

We both studied/lived in India for 2yrs, sponsoring the trip so we used my account. . My statement (8m+, 500k, and 2kusd ), Treasury Bill certs for 8m investment, documents of our new company owned by myself n wife (registered in June this year), and first anniversary receipt (flight n hotel) as the trip to Paris is for our second anniversary.

I guess it was kind of much, but i felt like if its available then why hold back. Like I said, I don’t think this much is required, above all just make sure u own whatever document you submit for any visa application as that’s the only way u can guarantee authenticity.

I believe your history and all docs being intact she’s covered. 3times without overstay or any issue should do the magic for her too. Wish you good luck.

Hello All, UPS delivered I and my Spouse passport today and we got 1 month and 4 days visa approval.

In 2014, we were both refused France Visa twice on the ground that our intent to return could not be ascertained. Family of four, we applied on the 29th of October, 2018. we planned to spend 5 days in France.

I submitted my employment letter(I didn't attest with Chambers of Commerce)
4 months pay slips
Statement of 4 months with closing balance of 3.1m
Letter of Introduction n planned itinerary
Letter of Sponsorship for my wife,
Her Employment letter
Her Statement of account with 500,000 balance
we could not get tax clearance and I let it slide.
Travel Insurance(Mansard)
Hotel Bookings from Booking.com
Confirmed flight e-tickets printout
Evidence of flight payment(it was a big gamble I took here, the leap of faith)
Marriage Certificate.
I had Dubai, S.A and Kenya travel history, they rejected the copies at VFS cos they don't see it as travel history
My wife had copies of USA Visa and it was accepted
my children's birth cert and Passports
Copies of landed properties, with survey plans without C-of-O

Above all, we were hopeful and left everything for God and it came out smoothly.

Student Visa or Tourist? When is your intended travel date? Getting worried will not solve anything, be hopeful and stay optimistic. All the best.

I sincerely think the wait depends on your circumstance.I submitted my application on the 17th and got a notification on 30th that it just got to the Embassy probably because of the public holidays but got a mail to pick up processed passport on the 3rd of September so it took barely 10 working days and from when it got to the embassy, on 30th and when i was notified to pick up it means only 3 working days and i got it though its a tourist visa and i have multiple visas on my passport from different countries..So a delay or a quick turn around doesn't exactly mean they will decline or not..Ive heard people say if they delay a bit it means they are confirming which is a good sign but if its really fast it means they declined..Apparently its not exactly so...PS: i applied for a short stay visa with single entry sef..was thinking max 1month or 3months will be given to me if they do but they gave me 6 months with multiple entry and funny enough i made many mistakes o..i didnt use my online application because i had to correct something so i filled a new form at the VFS centre there and submitted ...Na God

I was new on the France thing wen I applied too, but it’s a direct process. From this thread I learnt it is good to show a valid hotel reservation, which I did and got my visa. It worked for me and for a lot of people here too. Documents: SOA, cover letter(stating ur reason for trip and places to visit and possibly proof to show u will come back to naij) business document or employment doc as the case may be, flight reservation, marriage certificate if it applies. Any form of investment or property in your name or spouse or child. Generally any document that shows u r okay in Naija and don’t need to run.

They don’t accept visa copy except USA and Canada, UK and all that. What I would advise is if you have visited other countries and can lay hold of your accommodation booking and flight ticket, just attach it as supporting document of previous vacation. Don’t use it for the sake of country visa n all that.

I guess that’s all I can think of right now. that’s my own little advice

This is not true, I used Booking.com and I got my visa. I never took my letter of employment to Chamber of Commerce to attest nor did I add income tax clearance.

I feel you should just submit basic document and some should be showing your strong tie here. All the best.
