Ovamboland:

Ghana:
Population- 28 million, budget - 5 trillion naira

Lagos:
Population - 22 million, budget - 1 trillion naira, IGR 400 billion.

The money as big as you see it represents under performance, Lagos IGR should be in the region of 3-4 trillion.

New York state:
Population - 24 million, budget $120 billion, = 43 trillion naira.
That means what New York will do in one year, Lagos needs 43 years to gather the same money at current rate. They after all buy from same market, trains, vehicles, equipment etc

The IGR could be more but it's still enough to deliver basic infrastructure in Lagos (when combined with federal allocation).

Anambra claiming their IGR is equal with Imo is thievery. It can't be. Their govt don loot them finish. Only IGR from markets in onitsha alone will surpass the whole of the rest southeast state IGR

Lagos had been the commercial hub of Nigeria for over 20 years and will continue to hold a clear lead until there is a concrete plan by the FG to at least, create a fair playing ground for other regions; e.g wholeheartedly, test run other ports. Not to discredit the efforts of LASG to take full advantage of opportunities though wink

Why not tell the federal government to RELOCATE the Atlantic ocean from Lagos.

If you are truthful to yourself and your tribe, you dont need second party to inform you that Yorubas doesn't own up to 10% industries in Ogun, this is fact, with the large IGR Ogun is still under-develop, the government of Ogun is still owing pensioners and gratuity, Amosu borrowed $350 million early this year to complete the projects he started since his first tenure, Ogun was bailed out twice during recession, Ogun is haven of kidnapers, rituals activities in Nigeria, last year Ogun top states with highest cases of suicides in Nigeria. Ogun is less developed when compare to Enugu, Imo Anambra, this is fact if you gone beyond southwest boundary.

Sometimes, we leave the issue and starts talking about irrelevant things. What concerns Atiku with Lagos IGR?. Sometimes, I think Nigeria's issue lies with the leadership, but it's obvious the citizens are the main problem.

Lagos could hit N400bn in IGR on 2018. It currently accounts for over 35% of IGR receipts by states in Nigeria.

How is your state doing on the IGR board?

Before it was Yoruba's don't own Lagos,
Then it was Igbos own 80% of Lagos,
Then it was why are Yoruba always talking about Lagos, what about other Yoruba States,
Then Ogun Started picking up (IGR of Ogun = All South East States).
Now it's Yoruba's don't own 10% of Ogun State,
When Ondo comes on board, Whats Next!!!!!!!!!!!

All politicians are thieves.
And some people said we should do away with Tinubu who grew Lagos even as he steals.I have argued with people that Tinubu is good for Lagos because spiritually,he has the gift of growing things even people. He also has the midas touch. My opinion.I do not know him from Adams.

good observation. But for your info IGR is not GDP. IGR is taxes.

Now let me ask u...lets say enugu govt decideds to tax shop owners 1200 naira evey month whil ogun govt taxes shop owners 2500 naira every month...do u see why and hw they would have a larger igr?

Now am not saying that ogun doesnt have more factories than each SE state individually...but really do u think ogun has more factories than all se states put together? Really?
You people should keep living in ur 'import & market shop' bubble. Just the fashion industry or hotel industry or entertainment industry in lagos earns the state more money than all the 'shop' revenue in 1 SE state.

The Igbos should keep quiet for ever.
The entire IGR in south east states is Just 35.8 billion while that of their master Southwest states excluding Lagos state is 71.75 billion. That is almost 101% higher.

Pls show us statistics for GDP olodo. GDP means gross domestic product so how you get to have the highest gross domestic product with the lowest tax returns will be a professorial project... lol.

And also their are bushes every where because they have enough lands and are not as choked up with high population density as the total SE which is about the size of Oyo state alone. That you packed yourselves like sardines in confine spaces doesn't make you more developed than places with bushes. It only shows that your development and growth is limited.

Then you talked about population.... Aren't you concern that you guys embark on mass exodus from your so called wealthy regions to the regions you tagged poorest for economic survival hence the low population of the SE?

The joke is on you... lol
