UPDATED: IMPORTANT NOTE ON THE 2019/2020 PTDF OVERSEAS SCHOLARSHIP IN UK, FRANCE AND GERMANY

1. Deadline of application is December 31st, 2018

2. Candidates with minimum of 2.2 in a related discipline can apply for MSc

3. Candidates with minimum of 2.2 in their BSc and Merit i.e PhD grade in their MSc can apply for PhD.

4.Candidates may select up to 3 different courses (1st,2nd and 3rd choice) in any country or university, but are not to contact the schools directly for admissions as they will be placed in relevant universities by the PTDF. It might be best to choose three different countries

5. Candidates who successfully scale through the first round of
screening will be requested to submit their transcripts; all
applicants are therefore advised to prepare their transcripts
for submission in anticipation of such a request.

6. Uploading of admission letter in the application is not compulsory

7. In the application, PIN means your WAEC, NECO, NABTEB e.t.c registration/candiate number/examination number. You are not required to buy scratch card pin.

8. If you are doing NYSC, upload your posting letter in lieu of NYSC certificate. Last year, some guys serving won the scholarship.

Please, I need your opinions on this: I studied Applied Geology from one of these federal universities in Nigeria. I want to choose University of Manchester as my first choice to study Petroleum Exploration Geoscience, and French Institute of Petroleum as third choice to study Petroleum Geoscience, because I have planned it from the beginning to specialize in the oil and gas related courses in my higher degrees. My confusion is on the second choice I didn't see any course in Germany schools that caught my interest, so I want to choose my second choice from the UK schools. I am now confused on the school to choose to increase my chance due to competition and some other related things, I saw Imperial college London with Petroleum Geoscience and University of Liverpool with Petroleum Reservoir Geoscience. I think it is important to research the schools you want to pick and evaluate your chances of getting into those schools. Depending on your grades and the level of competion in those schools, Schools like Imperial College have high quality applicants applying from all over the world and so the competition is usually stiffer than others. Select your schools in according to your prefrence and how easy you can get a place there

What I meant is whether we must choose schools across the three countries or choose all three schools from the same country. I got no answer till I did what I thought was good for me, choosing all three schools from UK

Most schools in the United Kingdom requires a minimum of a 2.1 but i have 2.2 with industry experience with no publication, but i have certificate of a conference i presented a scientific paper. Do i stand a chance for admission in those schools under PTDF esp university of manchester and kings college london

to increase your chances, apply to schools that have a minimum 2.2, if you check very well, there are all tiers of schools for the PTDF application, from school like imperial for first class only, to schools like Robert Gordon that accept 2:2. Please guys, I am having difficulties on my Personal statement page, I am a phd applicant and the instruction permits PhD applicant to have 1000 words SOP/PS but the space provided can only take 600 words for Msc applicants. Pls, is anyone experiencing similar thing and and advise concerning this will be appreciated.....
