Guys ....actually the delays are everywhere. Even applications made within the Republic of South Africa that normally used to be processes quickly(early this year) are now dragging.

Certain applications that are currently in "Printing" stage is even being delayed. This is an application that has been processed and approved. That should then tell you how much of delays ia currently doing the rounds now.

That being said, you guys can only contact Abuja or Lagos consulates and wait for your processed applications or withdraw(if you want).

Theres going to be ammendment to SA immigration laws sometime end of Feb or early March 2019 Certain professions will be dropped from the current list of Critical skills visas, sothe guy who asked if he could evaluate with a body or not, rather do so before your profession gets dropped fromthe list(which i doubt as Engineering skills is always needed though)

All the best guys.

I'm forced to reconsider this delay in visa issuance by the South African Embassy as a deliberate one.

It makes no sense! There should be SLAs that govern operations such as this and if they are falling behind, they ought to have sent a bulk of the applications to other locations/countries - UK does same.

But hey, this is Nigeria so BS walks.
uk just appointed a new consular..last week

I got my CSV on Friday, for a job I should have resumed a month ago after I had applied 3 months 3 weeks ago.

In everything I remain grateful to God, especially since its been issued. But I'd say this, try to get someone with leg to have a look at your application If you are in a similar position.

I don't have information on how helped me so asking me won't help you. I just knew someone who knew someone who knew someone and it got issued in 2 days.

It will be highly appreciated if any one could advise if the yellow card I got in May 2018 is still valid to be used for my visa application in December 2018.

Also, is it mandatory to submit a reference letter from place of work for study visa?

Thanks.

I used the YC I got last year, as long as it meets the requirements as stated on the visa application form. . Recent YC have QR code on them but the older version is still valid.
Reference/introduction letter is mandatory. If it’s such a hassle, attach your payslip and work ID but I advise you get the letter.

At Lekki VFS Centre, I was given the impression that it takes 10 to 15 working days to process the visa. The report on this thread is contrary.
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Sandhill: 5:10pm On Dec 02, 2018
As funny as it may sound I don't know the person that helped me. That means I don't have a direct contact at the high commission.

I wish I had a direct contact. The person who helped got those contacts didn't share them with me and he went out on a limb for me basically no money involved. Unfortunately I can't go back to ask.

It was the grace of God.

Ah, I see they don't go past the validity of your passport.

Oh well, all the best in SA.
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by slickruler: 8:31pm On Dec 02, 2018
I think SO... it was applicable for me too...my Passport expires June 2023.. they have me till June 2023..

Meanwhile, anybody applying for Critical Skills, I advise you make sure you have close to 5 Years Validity on your Passport. That wold influence the duration they would give you. Once you come over you can apply for PR

Congrats man, i have been using your application as a benchmark to when mine will be out since we applied same time. Since someone helped to push yours,i will only put my trust in God for the embassy to work on my application. I am no more enthusiastic about this whole stuff.

This actually too much.. You can book any Flight without making Payment. It expires two days later so its advisable that you book it A day or on the day of Submission. When Printing the flight ticket make sure you cut out the portion of Expiry date. Try Kenya or Ethiopian Air
