The ball is now in the court of the National Assembly. They can just mobilise two third of their members to override his lack of assent

If Saraki is that powerful, let him gather two third majority is Senate and veto the president.

@POLITICSNGR

President Muhammadu Buhari has declined assent to the amended electoral bill.

Ita Enang, senior special assistant to the president on national assembly (senate), said the president has communicated his decision to the national assembly.

Although Enang avoided making a categorical statement on the bill, he said Buhari assented to the National University Commission Amendment Act.

In September, Buhari turned down the bill for the second time, asking the national assembly to revise some clauses.

The national assembly had passed the bill on July 24 and transmitted to the president on August 3.

...before I crucify Buhari, I need to know what the amendment is about? what about the bill is faulty and needs amendment? What section are they amending? In as much as i want Buhari out, I want to know what good or damage the amendment will do

Re: Buhari Rejects Electoral Bill Again by isnovic(m): 3:14pm On Dec 07, 2018
He should simply be vetoed.

This Bill is too important to be left in the hands of uncertainty.

The constitution should be applied without fear or favor no matter whose ego is bruised or gored.

Nigerians deserves better.

Buhari just confirmed that he is against free and fair elections, and the fact that his government has not done enough to deserve being re-elected. This is the time for the entire country to rally round the NA in vetoing the president on this bill.

Nobody has been able to clarify what the bill is about and the conflict which is delaying its signing. Nigerians in the usual directionless mob manner on this thread are just shouting buhari buhari.

Do you know what the bill is about and the conflict which is preventing its signing? How did you possibly come up with your above conclusion with scanty info?

His only hope in 2019 is rigging and the bill will be a big barrier to that.

But weather he likes it or not, that bill must be approved.

We need to why he's declining assent before taking a position. There may be valid reasons for the decline.
