Sterling Bank is a reminder that anything possible on NSE. The wings the bank grew overnight I hope it doesn't break in the course of flying.

Looks like prices may not get worse than this. For the look of things, there might be a little rally.
Keep faith. Take position.

Where is sir Loco? Has he gone for Christmas break in Santorini?

Even Agba has gone MIA.
I dey back bench dey observe una while sipping my palmy

Lol. I hope you wouldn't go and rush back in at high price. Can it actually sustain that price? Anything is possible in NSE anyway.
We are observing. tongue
Can't go in now! It's just to observe. I just keep wondering why FCMB and Fidelity are still dragging feet... FCMB and Sterling bank were both selling @1.50 just last month. Just imagine Sterling bank is selling higher than Fidelity..Power of the bears!!!!!

Investors should watch out for champion breweries.
This company has one of the best asset to liability ratio in the whole of NSE
The South African investors are busy strategising and repositioning this company.
The company is looking for market shares dominated by NB, IB, Guinness. With 5 to 7.5% market penetration, this company will witness a turn around.
I forsee a long term capital and shares appreciation for this company.
Most companies the SA investors show interest, will likely experience turn around in production and marketing.
It might take time... I can see this modern brewery doing what CCNN is doing in the cement industries in the brewery industries.
Surfice to say when the available becomes expensive, the affordable becomes available.
Watch out....
Disclosure... I hold 100,000 units in this company.
Not an advise to buy
Just my candid opinion
wanaj0:
I love what the SA investors did with Dangote Flour smiley

Not sure of the SA investors in Champion Breweries. I thought Heineken (majority owners of NBL) are the majority shareholder in Champion Breweries.
@ Godlifeoneart, I think u may have misunderstood where Sir Wanajo is drawing his revert from.
1st in ur brief analysis of champion breweries, u asserted that one of the reasons u see value in the coy is because the South Africans are stakeholders therein. According to u, they oftentimes possess the magic wand to turn things around wherever they are. ...which they have and are still doing. (refer to the part of ur post in bold)
@ Wanjos revert to u was to counter that assertion. ...and I want to believe that he is RIGHT.
His statement; "I love what the South Africans did with Dangote flour" was purely an IRONY. ...while the latter part was to correct ur belief that its the south guys that should take the glory for the current turnaround in the coy.
If any(I can't even see any), it should even be Heineken via its SPV, Raysun Nig Ltd which holds an over 60% stake.
Yes there may have been some slight improvement in the company, but turnaround impact still hasn't presented a great inherent VALUE to tap from.
Given their last financial print (Q3, 2018), the coys GROSS MARGIN, NET MARGIN, ETERPRISE VALUE, ROAA, ROAE, P/BV, PE, RoIC, FCF, and EPS 'still doesn't tell of a great story'
...Again, any investor with an eye for VALUE would be dissapointed with the coys EM.
But maybe things might change in the near future.

The biggest challenge with Champion breweries is with COST OPTIMIZATION and INNOVATION (even the M.D once admitted to this).
I recall I once did an analysis on the coy to highlight some of their challenges.
...will do well to repost in a jiffy.

Regards.

Noteby... It was the SA investor(Tiger Brand) that lost terribly in the Dangote Flour affairs. It still reflects in the annual report of Tiger brand till date. Alhaji played them well.TB could not compete in unfamiliar territory.
In the breweries subsector, it's a different game.
A. Rooijen was once the MD of champion breweries and he still represents the interest of the SA investors till date.
For Heineken, the majority shareholders to hold on to about 4.7bil shares in dz Company despite facing financial challenges in Europe means there is an intrinsic value in dz company that is not yet known to common shareholders
Watch out.......
The Brewery is owned majorly by Nigerian Breweries and the current MD is/was a staff of NB. What Champion Breweries does mostly is contract manufacturing for NB brands, just like some small bottling coys used to do for Coca Cola before they acquired them all. In addition, Champion breweries has its own brand, Champion Lager and malt which is sold around the Cross River/Akwa Ibom area. Any Heineken, Star or Gulder you see in those states is most likely brewed by CB for NB.

Na oga BBM / FA guys you go call for that one, me don dey find another job for Pastor Vee's side o. grin
Anyway, with my little understanding, that price he entered is a bit high around this time for a bus going to car pack to load we the passengers again.
I think BBM mentioned something like 78-86k bandwidth for now.....that is if it can hold. If it can fine, if it cant then it might go further down to the main car park to pick passengers. In all, market have a mind of its own. smiley

From the way things are, diamond bank has already met a resistance @ 0.86k with bids far more than offers. Those smart guys may have come out again to do their magic to move the price up...You can monitor and observe to make your decision.

Why did you buy it in the first place huh

If you want to play diamond now, you must be good with your TA, and even at that you have to be extra vigilant that the CBN hammer does not fall on the bank while you are hooding.

The bolded is my main fear in the whole episode.
....but do you think that can still happen considering that they already nationalize the bank?
