When you've registered on DAAD, download and fill the application form, then upload it and continue with the rest of the application. I don't know if there are other documents to upload as I haven't passed this stage.

Engineers have some nice loopholes, they can apply for France & Germany ( less competition) cause everybody want go U.K( very fierce competition).

I actually did register for two different people last year, but only the dude with the Chinese school got it, the UK dude was dropped at the Interview.

So in summary, try different countries, don't be all UK, too risky

I got the scholarship in 2009 and a lot of lawyers got the scholarship in my school. Some were given petroleum law, oil and gas law, oil and gas management, international oil and gas management. My set was when the fund started accepting application from business and finance field. I did energy and petroleum finance

Not really, if you can do any of the courses & met the course requirement from the university website, just apply.

Why use such awoof opportunity on a low ranking school that you can easily get into without even the said scholarship.

Oga, go for the best as long as you meet the requirements for the course, Just let Ptdf deal with the admission, Your own Na to beat hundreds of applicants from ur start in order to be one of d few chosen. Even if you choose the lowest ranking school, you will still no get the scholarship if you haven't aced the interview.

Read about ur course from the university website ( They state requirements for admission. Though with PTDF requirements you are qualified for almost all schools( especially Engineers), anybody else has to confirm first, cause some schools need experience or a Bsc related to that course.

Choose different schools, preferably completely different countries.

Though God works in mysterious ways, with the way I see everybody dey choose UK, you got to be an Alpha & know ur stuff before choosing UK for all choices, if to say ur chance in other countries is 40%, for UK Na 5% due to sheer number of people wanting to go there.......

Why not ask your questions on this platform and receive your response? This is important because anyone who reads the thread in subsequent years will actually benefit from it.

Truth is there is no rocket science in getting the scholarship. Aside the favour of God involved, your ability to be smart and paying attention to minute details matters alot.

Second truth is... If you are waiting to get a sample Statement of Purpose, then i must frankly say that it is the beginning of failure. There is nothing as noteworthy and important as formulating the statement of purpose in your own words and your own experience. This is because in months to come, you can clearly defend what you have written because it typically embodies you.
1. You should be familiar with PTDF's vision and core mandates. Try to build your SoP around these mandates (Very Helpful).
2. Specifically mention what you intend to accomplish during studies. Focus on your strengths.
3. Be sure to state how the knowledge gathered from the studies can be applied in solving real problems; not really pertaining to oil and gas.
4. DO NOT for any reason mention that you hope to get a good job abroad after studies to practise what you have learnt.
5. It will be beneficial to state that you are looking forward to diversifying... meaning while focusing on your studies, you wouldnt mind acquiring other skills (mention these skills).
6. One of the mandate of PTDF is human capital development. so you are expected to show command of good level of leadership, communication, interpersonal and problem solving capabilities.

Finally like i always tell people, focus on building yourself. Truth is whether you are for MSc or PhD, three things should stand you are - Academic Qualification, Publications, and Awards and Membership of Professional Bodies. Not everyone would have a First class honours, but while someone with a first class might have a little advantage, a fellow without a first class honours can be chosen ahead of the first class (Trust me, i am not bluffing)!
My point is, do not lay all emphasis on the statement of purpose and forget other very important areas.

No. Research Publication in a reputable journal.

Yes. as much as you can, it should not exceed 5 pages.

It might be beneficial to properly articulate a section for Related Study... and that for Material and method.

Also, i normally advise people to include a thesis milestone/workplan. It can be quite impressive you know.

IMHO, i dont see how it should affect your chances.... However, it should not have been added ideally - Going by the rules.
If it is still possible, my candid advice is to remove it from your profile.

There will come a time when that admission might play a major role... But that time is not now.

No that is not an academic award. They are looking for awards as a result of academic excellence or research/contribution to your field of study so I am afraid that will not count

DAAD is not a school. And PTDF indicated that we must register on DAAD website. The expiry date for the application is in January.

If you chose any of the German universities, you must register on DAAD website.

Yes, your NYSC certificate would have to be cited.

You should have a means of ID also.
