It's very likely there's a medical cause to be found but we prefer to put the blame on innocent villagers..

Go through the write up and you'll discover that it had defied all explanations..

Tell her not to loose hope since she is not born with it, she will not die with it.. Continue praying and going out, she will find her own prophet

Of course anything you don't know defies your explanation. It is just a matter of seeking better knowledge. In Africa the knowledge threshold is very low so the vacuum is filled with spiritist ideology.

Yea, this is Africa where ignorance, superstitious beliefs, religions, poverty, child marriage, terrorism, endemic corruption, and other societal ills are prevalent.

I'm almost certainly sure that the lady's challenge is a medical one, which could have been misdiagnosed in poorly equipped hospitals we have around.

This is what medical experts say about actions to take when one suddenly loses the ability to see like the case of the lady in question:

"Seek medical attention right away if you suddenly lose the ability to see. Have someone bring you to the emergency room for treatment. Don’t wait for your vision to return. Depending on the cause of your blindness, immediate treatment may increase your chances of restoring your vision. Treatment may involve surgery or medication."

And this:

"Who Is at Risk of Blindness?

The following categories of people are at risk of blindness:

People with eye diseases, such as macular degeneration and glaucoma; people with diabetes people who have a stroke; eye surgery patients; people who work with or near sharp objects or toxic chemicals premature babies."

Source: https://www.healthline.com/symptom/blindness

By the time one digs deep to pin-point the causes of this lady's predicament, one will see the culprit is one or more of these:
1. Lack of adequate medi-care
2. Deep-rooted superstitious and religious beliefs
3. Poor education
4. Poverty.

These are general problems affecting a large percentage of Nigerians, and the second and third issues are the deadliest of them all.

There is no way a society, whose education system is moribund, can enjoy good quality of life; no way such a people, who are neck-deep in religions, can make progress.

You might be right to a point but again when a situation defies all explanations and desperation peaks , then at all costs , the person in question will go to every length to seek answers and that's where spiritism comes in..

'Spiritual attack' my foot. What is wrong with us as a people? These pastors messing up the heads of ignorant Nigerians have a lot to answer for. I'm yet to come across any ailment, sickness or medical condition that cannot be explained medically or scientifically. Why this unending claptrap about spiritual attacks, witches and enemies?

This could just be a case of glaucoma.

Glaucoma is a deadly thing, it occurs without notice, no cure and it leads to sudden blindness. It's good to go for regular eye check up for prevention.

Really touching story. I appreciate their tenacity and endurance to carry on in life despite their adversities.

While not discounting the claim of spiritual attack, it is important to investigate the cause of the blindness. If there is any medical explanation, so that the Knowledge would help prevent the children from being affected in the future as well.

God be their strength.

Unless told, you won't know they are blind looking at the picture here. Such is life especially if you are not a true born again Christian, the powers of darkness can do you shege at any given opportunity.
If you are not yet a Christian at all, or you are a church goer Christian without Christ in you, please it's time to seek the LORD now with all your heart.
Jesus loves you, so do I.

Photo: Nigerian lady shares touching story of her sister who suddenly went blind inside WAEC exam hall

Facebook user, Chioma Favour shared the story of her sister who suddenly went blind while writing exams. The blindness was allegedly caused by 'spiritual attack'.

Her sister later got married to another visually impaired man, who she met at a special school for the blind in Oji-River, Enugu State. They are blessed with two kids. Read the story below:

Greetings everyone!

Be thankful to God in all situation, God is God!!

Appreciate God always and praise his name in all circumstances The family you all are seeing here are no
other people than my beloved elder sister and her husband and kids!

They are blind(the couple) yes, you read it well, blind!!

The blindness was not from birth, it was a spiritual attack.

The blindness started as a joke in 2007 when she was about taking her WAEC, she was fully prepared for the exam when she then sat down for the exam, she was given her answer booklet and question paper, when she started screaming my eyes! My eyes!!

We got a phone call from the school and they informed us about her state! My father rushed to the school and brought her home.

That was when it all started!! We started taking her to different hospitals, churches, any place that could
solve her problem, but all to no avail.. She was operated on one of the eyes, that was when the real situation arose! Chai!!! My sister totally lost her sight. She was really pained, she thought all hope was lost.

Imagine she can't see anything again! Not even the face of her loved ones or the color of her clothes, (life is
unpredictable)

As time goes on, she was enrolled in a special school for the blind situated at Oji-River, that was the place she met this man sitting with her in the picture who is
now her husband, who has his own life challenging story,

The two of them met and fell in love with themselves, after some many training in the school, they left for Lagos and enrolled in a skill acquisition program
where they learnt how to make beads, liquid soaps, disinfectants, and some many other things..

He came for her hand in marriage which my sister accepted since she can't continue living in depression, God blessed them with those kids you are seeing.. I thank God for the life of my sister who is trying hard to survive this condition, I thank God for her husband, and I also thank God for the children he Blessed them with!!

Glory be to God, I pray God continue to
supply their needs, give them life, locate
their helpers and equally regain their sight
for them, Amen!!!

Ur sister simply had eye problem (Maybe Catarracts or Glaucoma) for long term n u people didn't treat it early enough until it resulted in blindness.

There is nothing spiritual about this story.
