Icon4s: When I talked about slave trade, I meant the Kanu's of Freetown (Sierra Leone), not the ones in Brazil. The Brazilians are clearly due to Kanu's heroics in Atlanta 96 just like the one below; Does the boy's physique wring a bell? Tbaba1234, Icon4s, Komekn

ChrisKels: Even the Ones in Freetown, it is not likely they of Nigerian origin. Remember Teko Oliseh? He is a Sierra Leonean and has no ties with Nigeria in whatsoever way. As I said before there are some African words or names from different ethnic groups with same spellings but different pronunciations and meanings. Just in Nigeria alone: Obi is Kola in Yoruba but heart in Igbo. Ebi is Can mean hunger or family group in Yoruba but we have Onome Ebi ![]() |

Icon4s: About Robson the Welsh(not Irish) international, he is actually of Nigerian descent. His dad, Rechi Kanu was once a prominent lawyer down here in Nigeria before he left for the UK for pastures new. |

Icon4s: I aint disputing this fact bro, buh remember the story of Sierra Leone. The pioneers and how they came about. I read it was once a dumping ground for unwanted slaves and slaves who returned to Africa buh cudnt retrace their roots. 1 Like |
