I pray your parents get to see reasons with you eventually. If they don't, go ahead and follow your heart. They will eventually support and bless your Union. It is not the blessings of the parents that prospers a marriage... It is the willingness of both parties to make it work. The Bible did not say "he who finds good in-laws finds a good thing or he who has the blessings of the parents finds a good thing" it rather says "he who finds a good wife finds a good thing. My dear, you are the one who decides what works and what doesn't.

Please follow your heart, our parents aren’t always right most of the time,as long as you love him n he loves you back, your happiness is paramount.lemme give u a hint a cousin of mine wanted marrying a girl n his mum kicked big time against the union, later the mum brought her choice and they got married,it’s been four years n no kids but the other girl that was rejected is happily married with three kids while my cousin still remains a mummy’s boy at 44 years.its your life

There is this Guy I am dating, he is a disabled but not that serious. He uses wheelchair but hardworking. We both studied in the same secondary School. We were Besties, we latter turned lovers. He is an idealist, he is also independent. Before you ask his occupation. He was an author and letter turned musical producer. Like i said he is independent. He relocated to Lagos after he finished studying music production and established his own studio in Lagos.
.
I love him so much. He also promised to marry me and which I have also agreed to. But we are waiting after my graduation then we keep off the marriage. The problem here is my parents those not agree in our relationship. And they are seriously fighting it. Please I need your advice cry cry cry
May God bless you dear. God will bless you more if you don't leave him cos of what anyone thinks or says.

Just be very careful because you are about to make a life time decision.I am not in a position to advice you but wont allow my daughter to marry a person with disability(its impossible). It sounds cruel but that is my choice
USE YOUR BRAIN BEFORE ITS TOO LATE
Ok let's turn this around, what if it was your son that was *disabled* would you also advise his love interest not to marry him? What if peradventure something happens to you in future and u become disabled would you also advise females to stay off from marrying you?

Truely, love is blind. since you love him and you wish to marry him. Careful explain to your parents and tell them the reason (s) you want him as your partner. Above all, listen to your parents. remember, what your parents are seeing ahead. Even if you carry ladder, you can't see it. Good luck in your relationship. The OP is the real bae

You made the right choice by choosing whoever you wants to end up with,it's your right and they shouldn't deny you of it,Being disabled doesn't make him less of a man,sit your parents down and explain to them......Your parents only have stigma about the disabled nothing less, Prove to them that he's a man and independent, all they need to do for you is to pray for you to last forever nothing more............Nothing is bad about dating that kind of a man

The blessings of the parents is very important and shouldn't be taken for granted. All she needs to do is to continue to persuade her parents to see reasons in her choice of man but she shouldn't in anyway neglect them.

So the young lady in question made it clear that he is independent. He got to this stage of his life without this lady physically assisting him so why would she start bathing and carrying him around? What makes you think he cannot climb stairs?
The bottom line is as a society we are biased against people with disabilities. We assume some external forces are at play, it’s contagious and disabled people should not enjoy life as we do for one reason or the other. That is just ignorance at play.
To conclude it is your life, there is no guarantee that marrying an able bodied man will yield better results.
It might take a bit of time to convince your parents but persevere with this.
Society in general needs to look at disabled people the way you look at this man. View them as people not just focus on the wheelchair as some comments seem to be doing here.
Your mama born you well.. It's not flesh and blood that revealed this comment to you... Best comment I have read today

Some are on two feet and physically well but disabled in productivity and psychology. Stigma to people with things they can't change is evil. We should learn to love and accept people knowing that we also will expect love if anything happens to disable us tomorrow. Follow your happiness. Someone on wheelchair is human too
Re: My Parents Chased Me Out Of The House Because I Am Dating A Disabled Man by hearttohearttv(f): 6:53am On Dec 24, 2018
It is not easy trying to convince parent to love the man you love but with patience and portraying his good side always they might accept him. You will be the one to live with him not your parent so take note of it and dont give up easily on someone you love. #hearttohearttv

Well there is a surprise....
Depends which Chablis you try but I like them.
A Sauternes is my guilty pleasure
I am slowly building a collection
Mostly reds as they keep longer
Ok nice.

If my memory from my days as "amateur sommelier" serves me right, Sauternes are more accurately a bordelais (from Bordeaux region).

Sauterne is good, except being a bit too sweet for me. But it was always easy to recommend to those not so much into wines. Not knowing how the sweetness of Sauternes comes about helps to keep loving/enjoying it. cheesy grin

Reds are always great. You can never go wrong with classic Bordeaux like Merlot & Cabernet Sauvignon.

I once saw a bottle of Chauteau Lafite Rothschild. A vintage Bordaux red. The price left me stunned. A 1982 vintage for the price of a brand new SUV! Not even from the 1870s or 1940s sef.
Well, until we hit big time, na to dey collect the cheap ones first. cheesy grin

Quite amazing how Australia, SA & California have quietly nearly caught up with France & Italy in wines. South Americans are not sleeping either.

None European wines have always been excellent what prevails is the same attitudes you find in the culinary world French or Italian wines being viewed as must haves
Romania, Germany ,Spain you hardly sees wines from this countries unless it is a Spanish restaurant
I have half a case of Pauillac Lafite Rothschild but it’s 1997 vintage . It was a gift and I am still yet to open a bottle. One day soon.
The best way to enjoy a Sauternes is if it’s paired well, and that applies with any wine and most people are intimidated by wine and I would recommend wine tasting as a way of getting to know your way around . The general approach is to buy the most expensive on a menu but if that does not pair well with what you are eating then it’s an utter waste.
Regarding Red wine I prefer Malbec’s I have a few Singiovese and of course some Cabernet Sauvignon’s
So what got you into wines?
I have never had this type of conversation with a Nigerian it’s absolutely refreshing.

There are no problems for her. He lives alone, manages to cater for his needs independently. You underestimate the tenacity of someone who has had to fight all their life to be accepted
Shown some love?
There is always love for you wink

Very true. The area around River Rhine called "Weinstrasses" literally Wine Route/Road connects excellent wine producing areas in German Rhineland Palatinate. When you consider that Iberia & Balkans were key parts of Roman Empire like Gaul/France & Italy/Etrusca, easy to see that they have very old wine tradition too.

Well, I got into wines purely out of necessity. I worked in a restaurant as a foreign student. But in drinks section. Wine bar was separate from beer/soft drinks bars. So you had to recommend wines to customers. Sometimes they'd ask funny questions, sometimes deep questions about wine. It became obvious that the basic wine training given wasn't adequate. I had to learn more on my own.
Same with beer. They may all taste bitter but have unique differences in taste, purity law (especially with German/Bavarian beer's "Reinheitsgebot" for beers from Germany), seasonality, ingredients, brewing, etc.

My dear just keep the case of that Lafite o. Selling it on in the future will be easier as a complete case. The price could rise considerably.

I decimated my little cheap collection when I moved and had no more access to a cellar. A mere wine rack made it too visible and accessible. People could literally just take from it when visiting. You sabi awoof things na. grin cheesy

Take from your wine rack? Without asking?
Someone will die that day I swear!!
As a rule I’d thumb what I have in the fridge always white is for all to drink. What’s on the wine rack is for good company
What’s out of sight is for those that appreciate good wine.
Well considering how much each bottle costs the Letife is safe it was not a full case I have 6 bottles . I have a few other vintage ones duo’s or single bottles some daring purchases others gifts.
I am not a fan of beer my brother is very much into beers he has a joint venture with a friend (microbrewery)
When I worked in Berlin nights out where hard as beer is a very big thing in Germany and attempting to drink Beer from a stein glass was my version of hell on Earth .

Hehehehe!

Well the wines were cheap enough. Otherwise no chance! cheesy grin

You know also wine has this reputation of being healthier than beer. And that notion has led to a couple for example finishing a full bottle at dinner, still thinking it's all healthy. The good quality beers are quite nice to taste too.

Now that's interesting. Berlin is something else when it comes to night life. Visiting those many years ago. cheesy grin
Kreuzberg was great. Mitte is still the bomb of course. Berlin seems gentrified a lot already in the 2000s, especially in the East compared to how it was even by up to around mid-1990s.

I have always wondered why micro-breweries/micro - distilleries are not operating in Nigeria. Producing properly approved & labelled drinks, not kaikai. cheesy grin grin

We have a wide range of grains & fruits that can produce a wide range of drinks/beverage and create jobs. If the govt could licence small ones, it could create jobs. Lots of cassava, maize, millet, rice, sorghum, sugar cane, mango, pawpaw and others go to waste during season.

In Nollywood films, "bigmanity" is displayed by people drinking fruit juices. Gulping them down daily. These are largely very sugary drinks. Worse than a very moderate amount of wine & beer a couple of times a week.
