Nigeria is not an amazing country. I can't say much because I don't know the quantity/size but the price of groundnut is on the high side here compared to other northern states.
With 150k you can get a clean two bedroom flats here. Though it depends on the street, that same amount can only get a self con at APC quarters. I don't like eating out, I cook almost everything I eat when I am at home. With 7k, I can cook three different soups and still have some change. A plate of food in restaurants here is between N250-500.
An average hotel room costs N5k here, you can get cleans ones with N2k though. It is about location and environment.
Never had any business with these ones so I have nothing to say.
My location is Suleja, Niger state
Really. I would like to know about Suleja. If I want a manageable one room within Suleja do you have idea of what that would cost?
What are the institutions in Suleja ? uni, poly, college of edu etc?

In Kano, everything is cheap, only problem is the city is very big and large if going long distance you need double or triple trip. There's space for everyone. If you speak Hausa it can be an advantage. It's a conservative state only if you know your ways, If you are a non native Sabongari area is where you can comfortably recide, you will think you are in the East. Kano should be competing with Lagos but the level of development is not up to a big city standard, and it an ancient city but modern surroundings.
In Jos everything is relatively cheap except human life from both side (so called Muslim and so called Christian) , the areas are well linked to one another even though crises has carved out boundaries for both sides, city centre is occupied by all the major 3 tribes but Hausas have some slight edge while the outer city is dominated by the natives, most natives do is civil service work, while other tribes are into commercials, good weather, average life style, problem only is crises can spring up anytime, but if u know the environment well no wahala.

Zaria, Ibadan, Niger, Bauchi, Oshogbo, Lagos, Katsina Oyo did not stay much longer to know how things works there.

Posting this here so as to get good participation.

I am creating this thread because Nigeria is a really amazing country where almost everything contracts from state to state. From culture, to language, and even cost of living.

Today i met an hausa boy complaining that the groundnut being sold for N50 in Lagos (ikeja) costs only N5 in Sokoto. that is a whooping 1000% difference in price.

about a week ago a friend of mine from Akure called me and asked me to help her get an accommodation along Allen or Opebi, i asked her for her budget and she said N150k. I almost bust out laughing. Told her to get at least 300k for a self contained apartment (that is just a room with it's kitchen and bathroom). A two bedroom flat costs about 600k (lower average), 3 bedroom would cost over a million naira for most apartments here on allen.

I dont cook, i eat out always. Depending on what i wish to eat, a meal costs me from 300 naira (for street food like my favorite ghanian wanche) to 1500 if i wish to eat at the restaurants around.

Average hotel cost is 15,000 here except you want to go and lodge in the slumps here in ikeja such as ipodo area or ikeja under bridge area, you would get accommodation of 5k. However a good lodging will cost you a minimum of N35k for ibis hotel and the likes. Sheraton is not in my area.

Olosho would cost you 5k for the average ones sha. 10k for the presentable ones (if you know how to bargain)

if you cant spare a minimum of 300k for school fees in a year (primary school) please dont come to lagos else you want your child to go to public school or a mushroom private school.

What else? Ask me any other costs you wish to know along opebi allen in ikeja.

Share key costs of commodities and accommodation in your area
Did your sokoto friend also told you that it take a day and half to get to sokoto from Lagos and ph

True. In Choba university envr u can get a good self con as low as 70k. A descent one room as low as 35k.In the city like Rumuomasi, Rumuobiakani, okporo, you can get a self con at 150k and 1 bedroom flat at 250k. My sister lives in an estate and she pays 250k for one bedroom flat apartment. Feeding; with 1500 you can prepare a descent soup. Clothing: cheap as Aba is close. Transportation from 50 depending on distance. Education affordable depending on your choice if you want costly ones. You can get a good private school at 30k. Security only good in the major cities but try not to stay late with your gadgets.

I don't mind at all. I am a freelancer on Upwork. I also publish on Amazond KDP, and run affiliate campaigns with Maxbounty.com.

Upwork writing earnings - $1500 per month
Kindle royalties - $300 - $500 per month (45 books which were ghost-written for me).
Maxbounty affiliate commissions - $400 - $800 per month.

A good month I earn N800K. A bad month, N500K.

It took three and a half years to get to this point, though. Check out my freelance writing guide here: https://www.nairaland.com/4430098/opinion-which-bigger-better-between/1#66358589

Accommodation in Port Harcourt suburbs has its types and ranges.

In new layouts where light is fairly constant 2 bedroom with 3 toilets goes for 550k ~ 750k per annum. You will still have to pay other fees monthly to cover sanitation, security and electricity. Keep yet other Money for miscellaneous in case your transformer blows, etc.

I live in abakaliki, an average self con costs between 120k to 150k. Mini flat costs around 180 to 250k.

Keke ride costs between 50 and 70 box.

A bag of pure water costs between 100 and 130.

Olosho, costs between 5k and 10k for short rest either in your house or in your hotel room. I don't know the price for those that are resident in brothels.

An average plate of food in an eatery costs around 300. It definitely costs more in places like Vegas, etc. I eat out sometimes and cook other times. Prices of food stuff are average.

For kids school fees, I don't know as I am not married.

Abakaliki sounds expensive, man. I lived in Nkalagu for a few months in 2010 and things were so cheap. Came to Abakaliki a few times, and things were generally cheaper compared to other places in the east such as Owerri, and Mbaise.

Because they have not gone to other places. With my NYSC experience in Enugu and my recent travel to various places I had to make my conclusion. My siblings are staying in a 4 bedroom flat which they shared with other neighbors close to shell gate and pays 90k annually for a room. I graduated from uniport. I thought cost of living is high until I had visited other places. In fact a self con that cost 120k to 150 in uniport is usually rated high. As a student I even managed to prepare a simple soup with 600. Life isn't that expensive. The major issue is insecurity in some areas in the state. There are also expensive areas like GRA and Okporo.

It sounds really good. Good teachers are paid well. There are even some schools in the outskirts of Lagos such as Ejigbo, Ipaja, Epe, Ajah that pay as well as those inside the metropolitan areas. Boardings schools or internationals though.

If one can arrange accommodation and enough money to carry them for a few months, plus also willing to work hard, they will find many opportunities here.
