My village shares boundary with igalla people we almost answer the same name but it's crystal clear that we are igbos and not igallas although we share the same ancestry. It's either the igbos and edos share the same ancestry or there is a mistake somewhere
the influence of igbos going there make them speak Igbo

Sometimes I wonder how u lots reason.....language is now a measure of how they are igbo...even hausa man in iselle uku speak igbo, even Benin man in iselle uku can speak....do that serve as a yardstick to call them igbos.

You don't just wake and move to a state and want to turn their history around to suit you...that is rubbish.

All these places are edo with little penetration of igbo history which is not that obvious but it doesn't change who they are and what they are.

You are the only one defending them when u are not even from there.....

You will feel disappointed when they tell u they are edoid.

Gets ur facts right.
Hmm!! Just continue after go and tell any anioma that he or she is Bini. Lemme know which hospital you're admitted when you return

Igbo has no meaning in Igbo language, Igbo (Eboe) is an umbrella name used for Ndi-gbo (Ancient people) of which many ethnic group fall under

you don't understand, Edo is just one part of a bigger family, urhobo is an ethnic group of itself just like Bini, isan, isoko, etc.

What we are trying to do is try to promote more unity between us because of our ancestry, if we don't that means we are lost.

Don't you see igbos trying to claim delta even their nnadi kanu included it in their Biafra map because he saw they aren't united.

Promoting one "Big" family is different from saying the Urhobos are Edo people, by so doing, you are denying us our identity, there are several ways you can go about this without trying to appear domineering.

The Oba Of Bini was in warri of recent, but he didn't deemed it necessary to visit any Urhobo Kingdom, like I thought a father is suppose to look after his children?, so many things need to be done about our dwindling relationship.

As for the Kanu guy, we all know his inclusion of Delta state is an illusion, he dare not even bring his campaign down to warri or any Urhobo/Isoko/itsekiri town, we'd surprise them. so worry not about them.

Re: Great Benin descendants thread by Nobody: 11:08am On Jan 01, 2019
An ethnic group or an ethnicity, is a category of people who identify with each other based on similarities such as common ancestry, language, history, society, culture or nation.[1][2] Ethnicity is usually an inherited status based on the society in which one lives. Membership of an ethnic group tends to be defined by a shared cultural heritage, ancestry, origin myth, history, homeland, language or dialect, symbolic systems such as religion, mythology and ritual, cuisine, dressing style, art or physical appearance.

Ethnic groups, derived from the same historical founder population, often continue to speak related languages and share a similar gene pool. By way of language shift, acculturation, adoption and religious conversion, it is sometimes possible for individuals or groups to leave one ethnic group and become part of another (except for ethnic groups emphasizing homogeneity or racial purity as a key membership criterion).

Ethnicity is often used synonymously with terms such as nation or people. In English, it can also have the connotation of something exotic (cf. "ethnic restaurant", etc.), generally related to cultures of more recent immigrants, who arrived after the dominant population of an area was established.

Naturally am not interested who they are whether they are efik, edo or urhobo but as far clear minds are concerned those guys are edo with little igbo infiltration.

More in the aspect of culture, there are still notable differences.....

no Na the Bini have never forced their tradition on others, we are all unique but same ancestry.

I've no idea why the oba didn't visit urhobo king maybe it's visit to itskerri was to counter ooni of ife visit.

As for kanu and it's Biafra nonsense even anioma there will flog him if he start saying nonsense
