I like him as a footballer but I am starting to have serious reservations about him as someone to play in a team.
First of all, his mum is his patient and she talks a lot of crap.
He has been very disrespectful of PSG his boyhood club for about 2yrs now and has handled his exit unprofessionally.

Heard he is asking for big wages and outlandish bonuses as well. Said Spurs were beneath him.
Summary is, I question his motivation and attitude.

Not saying we shouldn’t go for him, but the club should do their due diligence on him first before rushing in.

But, then again probably thinks United are beneath him. Shouldn't be anywhere near our team especially if his arrival will upset our wage structure even further. I don't think he does anything Andreas Perreira is incapable of doing. Barca fans seem not to even be thrilled with the guy as a signing and even midget seems to be all invested in de Jong.

We are better of investing prospective wages in:

*. A midfield enforcer as a Matic replacement. Wilfred Ndidi or Tanguy Ndombele should fit in nicely.

*. An intelligent, ball-playing, aerially dominant, cool-headed center back to keep us snug at the back. Kalidou Koulibaly or Matthijs de Ligt should really do well for this.

Its perfectly OK if you're against his coming to united based on his professionalism and off field persona..from the look of things he comes with too much baggage, but if you want to talk about his footballing ability,it's an insult to compare him with Andreas Pereira,have you watched rabiot at all? That guy is the most complete midfielder under the age of 24...he's very creative,mobile,can shoot,can defend,can dribble,just name it...and his physique is perfect for the EPL...I remember talking about us getting him beginning of this season,it would really pain me if we didn't even make inquiry to his availability...

Tho we are in need of a right winger,rabiot would easily slot into team besides pogba,but yeah you're right we need a solid DM behind them

Afrodoc I understand that's it's not really professional to say a club isn't of status to attract you but let's be fair a host of players won't join Spurs for the same reason and they wouldn't want to offset their wage structure.
As a person, he might have issues but under the right set up and environment, some the issues highlighted thus far can be addressed. At United, he'll line up alongside Pogba his compatriot as well as Martial and he'd settle down quickly.

Creatrixity, like dubylhover pointed out, Rabiot is miles ahead of Pereira, I understand you must have made that comparison with a lot of bias.
A lot of clubs are overlooking so many aspects of a players life and concentrating on the football side of things, this easily explains why Barcelona are keen on him apart from the fact that he'll be arriving on a free.

If you go for Ndombele or Ndidi, you'd be looking at 50-60m outlay but with Rabiot, a 10m sign on fee and wages that wouldn't exceed 40m over 5 years. However with the other options, you'd be looking at a combined transfer fees and wages of over 80m within the same period.

Football is gradually moving past an Ndidi kind of DM, his passing is suspect to me.
With the way we have been playing, pressing from the front, we really don't need a DM whose game is centered on tackling (Although Ndidi is improving in interceptions), I rather have a player like Rabiot just behind Pogba and Fred/Pereira/Gomes than Ndidi. Rabiot is adept at recycling possession like Thiago Motta and is confident in possession like Matic albeit faster and can shoot from range.

To be honest, I have been enjoying watching Matic on the ball. He is always looking to pick a forward pass, especially the harder ones. Has an eye for through passes. We need somebody like that as the holding MF. I like Ndidi without the ball, up and about. But what happens when we're in possession which we expect to be more than our opponents? I need to watch more of him to see if it's those backward, side way passes he attempts at Leicester.

Adrien Rabiot for free at any team is a steal..

At first I wanted us to sign Ndidi..

I observed his game recently, he's for a counter attacking side. Like a Mou kinda of team. Not the new team we've got now. He'll be a waste. We need Midfielders who can recycle passes like Modric, Rabiot et al

I would say yes....you obviously don't think because we urgently need a rw and a DM that if we just signed those 2 positions we would win the league....to be sincere its only pogba that's our quality cm,what I'm saying is that if there's a chance to get rabiot who is always an excellent cm and would effortlessly fit into our team,then no problem...Herrera has d energy for recovery of balls and marking, but we still need a cm who is creative and can move with the ball...rabiot is very very mobile considering his physique...he reminds me of prime guti
