Princessfad:
Happy new year everyone,hoping all our dreams of PR comes through this year. Grateful to @bellong for this thread and the previous one.
We're looking to start our PR journey this year and I have all the information needed(after going through previous thread and this) but I'm yet to come across a situation like ours and I'd like someone to please help shed light on it.

My husband has HND in mechanical engineering but he has barely worked in that field. He has worked in sales and has 10 years experience. The challenge we have is the assessing body EA requires experience in the engineering field which my husband does not have,so my question is this ; can we fill in his sales experience? Cos that's about the only experience we have. Please I would really appreciate someone helping us with a way out. Thank you

@Princessfad you have already answered your question. Experience is required in an engineering field. There's no way around it. He has a better a chance at positive skill assessment with his sales experience but i don't know if any occupation relating to sales is on the skill migration list.
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by Princessfad(f): 8:19pm On Jan 02, 2019
I was actually hoping there would be a way around it *sigh*
I would check the skill migration list again. Thank you!

Good evening everyone and happy new year.

I have a challange with tax certificate. Who knows how I can get my tax clearance certificate from lagos state government, I don't have them from 2013 and I have been paying and my pay slips are available for a proof. I told my company and they said next quarter they will start applying for it. That will be too far for me.

I would suggest you visit the tax office yourself. Talk to them nicely, they should be able to issue you one since your company has been paying.

Its 3-5 years experience that will give you 5points.

You need to get 20points from English to stand a chance.

You can consider applying for 190 and 489 visa as well.

Check anzscosearch.com to see the states and regions nominating your occupation.

Does Professional Certification PMP add any point for someone assessing for Telecommunications Engineering.

I have 3 yrs experience in telecom , Elect Elect Eng,

It won't add any point. Just write a watertight CDR and you will be fine.

It's important you get tax clearance since you don't have bank statement to prove your salary payment and vetassess likes lots of evidences to prove what ever you are claiming. You can go to tax office in the state you stay, they will calculate what you will pay based on your salary and years of employment then issue a certificate that you can use for your assessment.

Good Evening my people, please I need some clarification about my documents that I intend to submit for vetasses assessment.
Firstly, the company where I am currently working does not pay to our bank account, they only pay by cash, which makes getting bank statement impossible for me. However, I have approached the Account manager and she promised to provide me with salary slip(s), which looks fine. But my main issue is getting tax clearance which I don't have. I would like to know if I can submit my application for Vetasses assessment without Tax clearance.

Please help a sister smiley

Check the Vetasses requirements, if tax clearance is one of them, it is advisable you get one.

From what I have read, its not possible to change a visitor visa to work visa. You have to leave after expiration of your visitor visa and apply for a work visa when you get back to your country.

Seniors can wade in

If you have a tax number, chat lirs on www.lirs.gov.ng and you will get your tax statement within 5 minutes. That's if your company has been remitting your tax for those periods.

Yes you can submit your application without tax clearance. I submitted only bank statement and got a positive response. Although this may also depend on the case officer handling your assessment.

Go ahead and submit your application while you process the tax statement for your visa application

@tunlex01 mentioned.
Tax clearance is not a compulsory requirement for you assessment.
however
You should approach LIRS or FIRS office depending on your location.
you will be required to remit all unpaid tax amount covering the employment period you intend to claim.
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by bellong: 1:15am On Jan 03, 2019
@Princessfad,

With EA, experience is not required to get a positive assessment. However, engineering occupations are skill level 1 occupations, which means a bachelor degree is required.

For his sales experience, the closest occupation is a sales and marketing manager. To get a positive assessment, he needs to demonstrate he has been a sales manager by presenting the company's organogram and showing departments that report to him. Meanwhile, the occupation is also a skill level 1 occupation but experience may be deducted in lieu of qualification. The key here is, can he demonstrate that he has been a manager in the last five years?

If he had had an engineering experience related to his occupation, mechanical fitter would have been a good option.

What is your own qualification and experience?
