All you get to see most times are just the finished products. So many failed attempts. So many failed concepts. So many complex ideas. Hi. Sorry to hear about your job. A better one is coming. About you wanting to learn graphics design, you see, designing isn't something you give an ultimatum to learning it. Its quite tasking. And actually harder than you actually think. Because I am of the impression you think its quite easy for you to want to learn before the year runs out. Also there are also different branches of graphics design. Different programs for designing. And I am sure you haven't thought this through very well yet. Graphics design include photo manipulation, logo design and branding, cartoon and caricature, illustrations, digital painting, to mention a few. So do you know what you want to do?? Do you want to learn all??

I said I would mention the types of logos we have But havent had the time to write. There are 7 types.
1.Lettermark (Monogram)
2. Wordmark
3. Pictorial marks (logo symbol)
4.Abstract marks
5.Mascots logos
6. combination of Lettermark or wordmarks with pictorial logos or mascots
7. Emblem logos.

I am not too sure I get your question but if you are asking how to turn a picture to cartoon, you make use of programs that can do that, Photoshop illustrator etc. You will draw the subject from the reference photo. Its basically an image trace. You can learn it on YouTube

Starting the new year with this logo project I finished towards the end of 2018. Its a store that deals in the wholesale distribution of drinks but basically can drinks.
