I will answer you this way, staying back to have her baby is not against the law. She was stamped in for 6 month despsite saying 2 weeks , she can stay for 6 month based on the visa duration..based on her current situation and pay your bills ...it called b1/b2 visa she was not stamping in for 2 weeks and believe me going back to nigeria and coming back by feburary she may be denial entry ..facts
!

Thanks for your advice though.i did mention 2 weeks cos it was a vacation, came in from the Uk where I also spent 2 weeks for vacation.im not one to complicate things for myself and yes I do have a job that affords me time.i don’t understand the part of being truthful here.
ninab:

You told them you where there for 2 weeks stay 2 weeks and leave
When I had my baby in 2015 April I went November 2014 no one asked me again why I left and came back
I left the us in August renewed my visa
November and am in the United state again presently again 8days
If I decide to come in again next year for birthing wud declare and come in
Let’s stop causing problems for ourselves how can u even sit in the us for 6 months it only shows u don’t have a job and that would even raise eye brows
Please leave after 2 weeks and return March as u earlier planned except u are not been truthful

Sorry, but my question was directed at ninab
Leez29:
It was same medical visa I reapplied for , purpose-child birth....

Was your renewal for a medical visa or vacation (visiting)?
From what I’ve observed from this thread, most renewals for medical visas have been rejected.

I understand oh! But, shebi you go renew this visa for her when time come, abi?

It’s actually in her best interest to do her holiday, come back home and return to the US for birthing if she’s able please, don’t encourage her along this path at this time, it won’t go well las las!

I can tell you authoritatively that a lot of hosts don’t have the faintest of idea of the workings of this birthing and even visa matters please! Don’t follow this advice they are giving you. People that will advise you to hide your bump by all means possible when coming into the US for birthing or that you shouldn’t declare pregnancy during interview? What exactly are your strong fears? I see none yet....

Most important is paying your bills but this whole aspect is turn against nigerians even when they pay their bills..can anybody tell me why??
Because l can tell you from experience she may not be allow in feburay it a 50/50 chance!

Although there are no specific regulations prohibiting pregnant foreign nationals from entering the U.S., entry is allowed or denied at the discretion of the admitting U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Officer. If the CBP Officer determines that you are likely to become a ward of the government (meaning that the government must provide medical care because you do not have medical coverage), you can be denied entry.

When determining if you will be allowed to enter the U.S., CBP Officers take into consideration the date your child is due for delivery and the length of time you intend to stay in the U.S. In addition, they want evidence that you have sufficient medical insurance to cover any medical necessities while you are in the U.S. and that you intend to return home.

If it is determined that you do not have sufficient medical insurance to cover any unexpected or expected medical care while in the U.S., you can be denied entry. Additionally, if you are pregnant and entering the U.S. at a border port of entry via vehicle, be aware the radiation detection portals deployed at the ports do not emit any radiation, and do not present a hazard to you and your unborn child.

Not a valid reason to substantiate a 50/50 chance thing. Na today? Her chances of entering back in with her well prepared “burden of proof” is almost a 100% while renewal chances will be almost 10% if not even non-existent!

You are part of the people causing issues for innocent people who genuinely wanna get their visas and mind their genuine business. How would you advise her to stay in the US for 6 months after she declared she was gonna stay for two weeks? Isn’t that dubious?
FYI: whatever you say at the POE is documented. Staying for 6months is the same as lying and I doubt if the VOs will look kindly at her during renewal.
What do I know sef?

A lot of us who live in the US have the faintest inkling what goes on in the US embassy in Nigeria and what tricks they’ve been pulling on people to deny them visa. Someone told me you can come here and have your baby without paying and she said “I know so so and so person who did it without wahala”. Is that kind of host informed?

Personally, I don’t see why I will remain in the US for 6 months. Doing what exactly? What if God forbid, complications arise and you overstay your visa stamp? Anywho, seems you’ve already made up your mind. I can only wish you good luck.

Who said it’s a trick anyway? How can someone claim to pay $2500 as hospital fees as an international self pay patient and you as a VO who is American know that even people with insurance pay as much as that? I applaud people who go the extra length to find these discounts, but at the same time, some hospitals are just shady and pass the rest of the payment onto the government.

A visa is a privilege, not a right. They can decide what to do and what not to do with it. You’re not entitled to it. And in case you don’t know sef. American passport holders also find it difficult to get a Nigerian visa.

One has just have to accept and realize that anything that is legal, easy and has little to no negative consequences when abused is bound to be taken granted for and over abused.

Nobody is covering for anyone.

The fact that you do not like the response you are getting to your opinions about the US embassy doesn't make it that one is covering for the US embassy.

It has been said multiple and endless times that a visa of foreign country is not a right but a privilege.

If one is denied a visa to another foreign country then one should move on and apply to another country. It's not that hard and it shouldn't be that hard.

The sooner we realise this......the better for our mental health. There is no bilateral or reciprocal relationship between the 2 countries as regards visa issuance.

Their country...their visa...their rules!!!

Dual nationality is great but not having it is not the end of the world....we should intensify prayers that our children will be the best and excel in every area whichever country they are born in.....besides, Canadian Express Entry is an option.
