Thanks you very much sir.honestly I didn't read up 2 100 pages on chapter 13 but I would do that now, I just got to know about this thread tho....i'll go back and read it sir..I appreciate
Sheq:
i feel so convinced you didnt read up to 100pages of chapter 13... you people should always read back , you could have used another word in place of aprenticeship, there are numerous oppurtunities in all schools...why not mention what makes yours standout? the highschool.mate is even so unncesarary... even though you have been out of school for long... if you had read numerous transcripts you would have been able to answer questions professionally like a graduate student.... please load chapter 13 and 12...read.. make screenshots..and refire!

Please Benitez, We eagerly await this important info

hello Guys....I am happy to be in your midst....just got to see this thread some few days ago....well, it did help me....my study visa was approved today but somehow I had an edge....I have before now successfully gotten a B1 visa visited the us and renewed the visa....so I had a running visa.... So I think that was what gave me the edge....however it's not always a guarantee that it would work that way.... My interview was very very strange....although I prepared myself from some of the transcript I got from here, the questions I was asked were quite strange...it didn't follow the normal generic pattern....one thing I want us to know is this guys conduct a thorough check on you even before you come....so times, they have decided whether to give you or not just from the DS...160 form we fill online....most of us don't recognize the fact that we reject/delay/turndown our applications by ourselves by carelessly filling our DS...160 form..... I sincerely hope to share from my own experience where I think many of us get it wrong....I have seen some transcripts here that were denied but nobody could spot why even when it was very clear why it was turned down....although these are my opinion and they may not be correct.... Hopefully in the coming days I hope to share my transcript and 2cent on what can be done to Better your chances of getting your visa approved ..... Thanks everyone

I have also been struggling to type in this forum but just couldn't .....I didn't understand how to do that here at all....I only just succeeded now....so I hope to be more regular to contribute my own quota here....God bless us all

REPOST:

If you have scheduled your appointment and now preparing for your interview, please try stay away from here. It seems the news of recent denials is not helping your psychology. No put yourself under unnecessary pressure. Stay away from this group for now. Then one more thing: revise your proposed transcript 3 times a day. Morning, afternoon and before bed. Correct what needs to be changed; put the important points first, so that before the VO cuts in, you'd have delivered quality response. Get Get familiar with your proposed transcript to an extent that if the VO wakes you up from the sleep and ask you any of the questions, you'll be able to say it confidently. Once you're able to deliver in front of the VO, your chance is higher. Statement and other factors outside your influence will do the rest.

Before you take a break, get someone from here you can do mock with. It is important.
Good luck!
Good evening, and happy new year please my interview is on 14th of this January here in lagos.
Please I need someone that would help me out for mock interview before then.
Thanks

Visa Approved. Dec 21st

VO: What are you going to the US for?
Me: my Master's degree in Plant Pathology at the University of Georgia in Athens.

(I think he noticed my GRA)

VO: What's your research going to be on?
Me: Molecular diagnosis of plant pathogens and development of effective disease management strategies

VO: What is molecular diagnosis?
Me: DNA-based method. Advancement of morphological technique. E.g. PCR... this involves DNA isolation and PCR analysis and subsequently search on the NCBI (I said the meaning of NCBI here) database to determine the genus and specie. (I said this all a little haphazardly).

VO: Are you married
Me: No

VO: Do you have kids
Me: No

I will be approving your Visa now. Pick up in circled location in 3 business days.

It was all God's Grace.

Thanks to all that contribute to this trend selflessly and responded to my questions including (but not limited to) Lagosismyhome, Ubah1, gboyegaD, 100kobo, fairheart... God's gonna bless you all immensely.
Special thanks to Jummybecks/Bassmana and Toakins... Words can't express the help they rendered to me.... God bless you both real good.

BEEN FOLLOWING THIS THREAD FOR A WHILE NOW. PLEASE KINDLY LOOK THROUGH THIS TRANSCRIPT AND SCRUTINIZE.
I AM GOING FOR THE INTERVIEW ON AN EMERGENCY BASIS AFTER GETTING APPROVED FOR EXPEDITED INTERVIEW BY SUBMITTING MY PROPOSED RESEARCH WHICH IS STARTING AS SOON AS WE RESUME.
ME: GOOD MORNING
VO: MORNING, PASS ME YOUR I20 AND PASSPORT
ME:PASS WITH A SMILE.
VO: WHY ARE YOU GOING TO THE US?
ME: I AM GOING TO THE US TO STUDY FOR MY MASTERS IN SOCIOLOGY AT MORGAN STATE UNI, BALTIMORE. MARYLAND.
VO: WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THE US INSTEAD OF NIGERIA?
ME: IT HAS BEEN A PRIMITIVE TREND IN NIGERIA TO ALWAYS FOCUS ON THE THEORETICAL ASPECTS OF RESEARCH. BUT IN THE UNITED STATES THEY FOCUS ON BOTH PRACTICALS AND THEORIES WITHOUT DWELLING ON ONE.
VO: WHAT HAVE YOU DONE ABOUT D RESEARCH
ME: I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO WRITE AN ABSTRACT AND PROPOSAL WHICH ALSO CAUGHT THE INTEREST OF MY HOD ANXIOUSLY WAITING FOR ME TO GET ON THE TEAM OF THIS RESEARCH. THE CAUSES OF GENDER BASED VIOLENCE, THE EFFECTS AND MY RECOMMENDATIONS.
VO: TEL ME YOUR STUDY PLAN
ME: I PLAN TO GO FOR A MASTERS IN SOCIOLOGY, TO EXTENSIVELY EXPLORE THE SAME FIELD AS MY FIRST DEGREE. IT WILL REQUIRE A TOTAL OF 34 CREDIT HOURS AND CORE COURSE WORK INCLUSIVE. I WILL BE TAKING COURSES LIKE SOCI510 SOCIAL STATISTICS, SOCI 511 CLASSICAL SOCIOLOGICAL THEORY SOC 545 IDENTITIES AND INTERACTION AND MY THESIS IS SOC799.
VO: HOW DID YOU FIND OUT ABOUT THIS SCHOOL?
ME: I DECIDED TO ATTEND THE EDUCATIONUSA ADVISING CENTER IN VI, LAGOS ON ITS 19TH ANNUAL STUDENT FAIR IN SEPTEMBER WHERE I WAS INTRODUCED TO ACADEMIC WEBSITES LIKE PETERSON, MASTERPORTAL PRIOR TO MY AREA OF SPECIALIZATION AND PROSPECTIVE COURSE OF STUDY AT WHICH MORGAN STATE UNIVERSITY AND HARRISBURG UNI OF SCI N TECH STILL CAME AS THE BEST OPTION
VO: HOW MANY SCHOOLS DID YOU APPLY TO?
ME: TWO (MSU AND HARRISBURG UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY). MSU GAVE ME ADMISSION AFTER BEING EVALUATED BY WORLD EDUCATION SERVICES. HARRISBURG UNI OF SCI N TECH, I AM YET TO GET A RESPONSE.
VO: WHY MSU?
ME: BOTH SCHOOLS I APPLIED TO HAVE GREAT ACADEMIC STANDARDS AND SIMILAR RESEARCH AND CURRICULUM OPPORTUNITIES BUT IN ADDITION TO MORGAN STATE UNI, IT’S THE PREEMINENT UNIVERSITY IN MARYLAND ON PUBLIC URBAN RESEARCH.
I DISCOVERED THEY TRAIN LEADERS AND THINKERS! MORESO, THEY OFFER THE BEST VALUE FOR MONEY, THE TUITION IS WELL WITHIN MY UNCLE’S BUDGET.

MOST ESPECIALLY, THE KIND OF RESEARCH THEY ARE WORKING ON AS OF THE MOMENT AFTER DISCUSSING WITH DR PAUL VOOS VIA EMAIL IS SIMILAR TO GENDER BASED VIOLENCE AND GENDER MARGINALIZATION.

VO: WHAT WILL THIS COURSE DO FOR YOU?
ME: HAVING KNOWN THAT THE SCHOOL OFFERS A BLEND OF SOCIAL RESEARCH IN PRACTICALS AS AN ADDITION TO THEIR SOCIOLOGY DEGREE WHICH IS SOMETHING I WAS ACTIVELY LOOKING OUT FOR TO MAKE ME OUTSTANDING AMONGST OTHER RESEARCHERS IN MY COUNTRY. I WILL NEED THIS COURSE TO SECURE A FULL STAFF POSITION AS AN ASSITANT LECTURER TO PROFESSOR AY, PROF OF SOCIOLOGY UNIVERSITY OF ILORIN. AND ALSO COLLABORATE WITH THE MINISTRY OF WOMEN AFFAIRS ON REGULATING GENDER MARGINALIZATION IN ALL ASPECTS OF LIFE IN MY NATIVE COUNTRY NIGERIA.
OR
HAVING SUBMITTED MY PROPOSAL TO MY AUNTY WHO IS THE MINISTER OF WOMEN AFFAIRS AND PLANS OF GOING TO THE UNITED STATES TO GAIN PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE ON HOW TO REGULATE GENDER BASED VIOLENCE IN NIGERIA AS A WHOLE, SHE PROMISED TO APPOINT ME AS HER SPECIAL ADVISER UNDER THE PRESIDENCY PARASTATALS ON THIS BASIS AFTER COMPLETION OF THIS MASTERS PROGRAM.

VO: WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING AFTER YOUR GRADUATION
ME: I HAD MY MANDATORY ONE YEAR NATIONAL YOUTH SERVICE CORPS TO SERVE MY FATHERLAND AND SUBSEQUENTLY PRIOR TO THE COMPLETION OF THE PROGRAM I GOT A JOB WITH A BRITISH IT & RESEARCH FIRM AS THE ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGER BECAUSE I AM CERTIFIED AS A CHARTERED MANAGER UNDER THE NIGERIA INSTITUE OF MANAGEMENT. WORKED THERE TILL SEPTEMBER WHEN I GOT A 3 MONTHS SCHOLARSHIP WHICH ENDED NOVEMBER TO GO AND STUDY SAP AND K2 SOFTWARES BEING USED BY FINANCIAL AND MULTINATIONAL FIRMS FOR AN EFFECTIVE SALES PROCESS.

VO: WHERE WOULD YOU BE STAYING OVER AT THE UNIVERSITY
ME: MORGAN STATE UNIVERSITY HAS A STUDENT PORTAL APP FOR PROSPECTIVE AND RETURNING STUDENTS WHICH I DOWNLOADED ON APP STORE, SO WAS ABLE TO SPEAK WITH THE HOSTEL FACILITATOR AND I ALREADY REQUESTED FOR A RESERVATION AT CUMMINGS DORMITORY ON CAMPUS
VO: DID YOU WRITE ANY EXAM?
ME: NO, I DID NOT WRITE ANY EXAM BECAUSE MY DEPARTMENT EXEMPTED STANDARDIZED EXAMS FOR ME, HAVING EVALUATED MY TRANSCRIPTS BY WES. THO, OTHER DEPARTMENTS REQUIRE THIS FOR ADMISSION PROCESSES

VO: WHO IS YOUR SPONSOR?
ME: MY UNCLE
VO: WHAT DOES HE DO?
ME: HE IS AN INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR FOR THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AND ALSO LAGOS STATE. HE ALSO OWNS A TRANSPORT COMPANY THAT DOES INTER STATES BETWEEN LAGOS,PORTHARCOURT AND BENIN.

OH my God, another victim of wicked uncles?.

Like I posted earlier, everyone should learn from this. Take extra step to verify any document given to you by any uncle.

1. It's either you follow them to the bank and be present while he was collecting it.

2. Or walk in to the bank with the account number to enquire if its correct or tally with the name.

3. Use your mobile app to verify the details and compare to what you have with you.

As for your situation, you can't appeal since your uncle also confirm its "Oluwole" I'm sorry you are likely banned already

I would like to know if marriage to a permanent resident of US can lift the ban please

One thing though, if you tell a VO you intend coming back as an Assistant Lecturer with a Masters might sound negative. They do not understand our faculty structure as such their expectations with a Masters would be a full fledged instructor. Lastly, if you have plans for a PhD, you could sell it from that perspective and how that helps you get a position as an Assistant Professor. If you are thinking in this direction, then you might want to include how the graduates of the program gets into very top doctoral programs.
